The Moon's Eclipse(closed)

“You killed it” he simply said while smiling, looking back at the target. He never saw that before. He smiled a little more, like about to laugh, and followed the man to the building, looking up to him. He still had everything in hand, firmly trying not to drop anything. For long, his heroes had basically been movie protagonists and stories one. His father sure was a great man, almost heroic too, but sadly, Kyle never wanted to end up as he did. He wanted to be as great as he could be. He sure had started in a bad path, making him a little street boy and vandal, tiny thief in a city too big for him. But now, he was facing his one new hero. A man who at first was so angry at him he could have killed him. But now, Eric was surely his greatest source of courage and determination.

On his way back to the training hall, a tall and well-built man passed by, giving Eric the 'you better not have killed any targets today' look. His hair was almost blond like Kyle's but darker and longer by a few inches. The robes he wore were black with no additional colors whatsoever. Even the bracer that housed his hidden blade was black. Eric jerked his head after the man as he left. "That is Milo."

“He… he already looked angry!” answered the boy while watching Milo walk away. He turned back to Eric with a surprised look. “I bet you did that every single time! Killing the targets so he had to fix them!” He couldn’t help but chuckle after a moment he tried to keep a straight face. Kyle looked down, trying to hide his smile and laugh. “You… you are so powerful that you kill them every single time! If only someone wrote a book about that!” He tried to hide his smile before he looked back up at him. “That’s really impressing, I swear!”

Eric gave a laugh of his own as he led the boy back into the training hall and picked up the same gun the boy had been trying to shoot for the rest of that morning. He handed the gun handle first to the boy and jerked his head toward the target. "Come on. Let's see how bow-practice helped your aim." He had to admit, Kyle was right about one thing: he always killed targets, whether unintentionally or intentionally just to piss Milo off. To him, Milo's anger was amusing and one way he unwound after missions or being cooped up for too long.

The boy took the gun Eric was giving him and nodded. "Uhm!" He then turned to the target and went to place himself in front of it. Kyle closed his brown eyes for a moment and sighed. He opened them back and gave all of his attention on the target. Taking the gun, taking off the safety lock and placing his hands so he would move, he started aiming for the middle of the target, just as he did with the arrow. The breath and kept the air in, before he shot. The bullet went to the inner circle, making him look surprised. "Eh?" He was the one who did that? He looked at the gun, then back at the target.

Eric gave off another laugh and lightly clasped the boy on the shoulder with a hand. "Well done! I think you deserve some lunch and a break. Go on, then. I'll join you shortly." Eric seemed rather happy that his apprentice managed to shoot the gun straight. "We'll have to get you to practice your bowmanship more often if it helps you this much with your aim. In fact, I'm adding that on to your training schedule." Eric made a move toward the doors of the hall just as Milo came up, his eyes flashing where he stood.

"You are such a little shit, you know that?" Milo had a British Accent. Then he was from England. He looked about ready to kill Eric, his fists balled and trembling.
"How do you mean, Milo?"
"Are you bloody jokin'? You tore a bloody hole through my target again!" A smile broke through Eric's face at that moment and he couldn't help but snicker and Milo continued on his rant about how he never got any respect at all and it was enough for the snickering to continue from Eric.

The boy looked up at Eric for a moment, completely stunned, before he smiled. "Alright!" He was going to have bowman training to help his aiming... apparently, the first attempt on giving him better aim by shooting an arrow had work. Hopefully, he would het better at it with time! He was about to add something when a man, all dressed in black, entered. It was Milo. He came directly at Eric to yell at him, under Kyle's surprised eyes. What a courageous man! Or simply a really angry one. The boy finally turned around, trying to make himself as invisible as he could.

Kyle was putting the safety lock back on the gun, trying not to get involved into that by letting a laugh come out of his mouth. He bit his lip and went to put the gun back at its place, giving to Eric small looks very often. He sure didn't wanted to see his Master getting in a fight but... Seeing him being yelled at was kind of surprising! He never would do such thing. But apparently, Milo could, and often did get into pure rage against Eric. The boy pretend not to be there the whole time.

"Milo," began Eric after he'd controlled his snickering. "Take a deep breath and calm down. the hole wasn't that big and the rest of the targets are fine."
"Doesn't matter, now does it?" Milo hissed. "I still have to repair what damage is there."
"And you do a marvelous job of it! But you don't need to be yelling all the time." Milo grumbled something inaudible, turned around and walked away.

Kyle looked surprised when Milo got off and went away. Eric had been able not to get killed just like the targets! He smiled, hands behind his back. Well, that was funny! If he would have been in Eric's place, he would have been scared to death! But weirdly enough, Milo seemed to be the kind to yell, not to hit. The boy looked up at Eric, smiling with admiration more than mockery now. "At first I was sure he was going to shoot you just so you'd understand not to kill the targets!" he finally admitted. He still sounded totally surprised.

Eric gave a laugh the second Milo was out of earshot and turned back to his student, a wide grin on his face. "Come on then, young one. Time to get some food. Probably chicken again. Or pasta. Or maybe they decided to order in for a change. I guess we'll find out when we get there." Eric jerked his head for Kyle to follow and headed for the mess hall. Rightfully named, as well. It was mostly the apprentices who were the messy ones and got their own section of the hall. He halted in front of the doors and swung them wide. The smell was pizza. Most definitely ordered in. Eric breathed in a deep breath and grinned. "Haven't had pizza in a while."

The boy followed him, quickly forgetting about the fact he had called him a young one and that usually, he would get mad if someone would call him young. But he barely noticed and followed Eric to the mess hall, before he smelled the pizza too. He was about to answer that it had been a while for him too but just pulled a face, smiling a little. "I used to always have pizza before!" Kyle didn't sound dramatically nostalgic. He went to find a seat after a moment he just stayed there.

Eric gave a tiny chuckle and moved to get him some pizza before he joined his apprentice, setting down a rather small plate with maybe two small slices of pizza and a can of soda. "Come on, Kyle. You gotta eat something. You'll want something to eat, if you're going to continue your training tonight." Eric winked in the boy's direction and took a bite of his own pizza for a moment before he began to think of the future. Probably in about two or three years' time, Kyle will be able to go out on his first mission. Eric was nervous, granted, but also looking forward to showing the boy around the city and teaching him new things. It would be incredible, or incredibly dangerous. Eric hadn't yet decided but he knew it was something to both look forward to and to fear, which he did.

Kyle looked rather uncomfortable before he nodded and obeyed. If he was going to train more, sure he needed to eat something! Kyle was a slim and rather small boy, but soon enough he was going to be tall and stronger, at least. When he decided to eat, he did, by tiny and small bites. He was filled with determination. He sure needed to get better at everything... His own performance with the gun had impressed himself. That surely was because of the bow training he got... he had never touched a bow before. He only could picture himself doing so... But now, this had helped him with his aiming. He smiled a little. He was being less of a shitty shot...

Evening fell upon the Inn and Eric stood at the main doors out, his hood obscuring most of his features and giving him that sense of mystery as before. He would test Kyle's stamina and agility. See if the boy could make it over this route to the training grounds.

The boy soon showed up, dressed in his Apprentice robe, coming at Eric. Kyle felt a shiver running down his spine. Eric always looked kind of... terrifying with the hood on. But he soon just nodded at himself. That man was there to help him. Not to scare him. At least, not anymore.

"Come," Eric said simply and exited the Inn. Outside was chilly and the snow still covered the ground. Eric looked up at the rooftops and sprang onto the wall of the Inn and began to scale it easily. At the top, he hoisted himself onto the roof and waited for his student. This would be their starting point. Then Eric would see how well Kyle could keep up.

Kyle already was starting to climb behind him. It wasn't as cold as when he was trying to push up at the end point of the waterfall, but weirdly enough, the smooth cold air was making his fingers feel kind of painful. He kept still and finished up to the Inn. He look a quick glance down before he looked back at Eric. It sure was high...

Eric nodded at Kyle's climb up here and cast his gaze around the path that they would take. "We're taking an alternate path this time," he said calmly, stepping off to the other side of the roof and peering over the edge to the street below. Only a few cars passed below them, which was a good thing. It meant that, should one of them fall, their chances of getting run over was reduced. Eric turned back to Kyle as he spoke again. "I want to see how well your endurance and stamina holds out. Keep up if you can."

With that, Eric leapt down, his hands catching a pole that swung him toward the next building, where he grabbed hold and began to climb. He looked swift and acted as though he knew this area rather well. He definitely moved with the confidence.

Kyle took a peek down, looking at the road, before Eric started explaining him what they were going to do. And, quickly, Eric went away, jumped and continued running to the other roof.

Ok, Kyle, don't panic, the boy started telling himself. You did that several times, remember?

He nodded a little before he started running, following Eric's path. He swung his whole body when he took the pole, rushing his feet before the rest of himself, taking grab so he could climb after Eric. The shock surprised him but he didn't spent too much time thinking about his hands on the wall, staring to follow Eric until he lifted himself to the roof.

On the next rooftop, Eric sprang over a rather large gap between buildings and swerved to the right. Here, the building fell away dramatically and the next roof was lower than the one he was running on currently. With a mighty leap, the Assassin sprang into the air, arms rotating slightly before his feet struck the roof, his body falling immediately into the roll to prevent shock rushing through the bottoms of his feet. He rose from the roll and continued on without any problem.

Kyle tried to keep the rhythm, his breath going more and more quickly. He wasn't going to keep the beat for longer now... He tried on following him the quicker he could, hurting his knee when he felt on the roof, quickly getting up to follow the man. On the next roof, he rolled too, falling too quickly on his back, moaning a little. I'm becoming less and less good at the thing, he thought, raising up to follow quickly Eric.

It wasn't long before Eric swerved and leapt up into the trees. He made a straight line through until he heard the roar of the waterfall and leapt from the tree, landing in a roll onto the ground, rising up to his feet in the cold water that was fed by the waterfall. There, he turned and waited for his apprentice.

Kyle came after several seconds. Out of breath, he tried not to hurt himself while jumping in the trees, trying to follow the exact same path as Eric's. He heard the waterfall but tried not to get distracted by it, not to take away his eyes from where he was going to jump. He finally jumped next to Eric, painfully moaning after a moment. That cold water... Would he even get used to it someday?

"One way for Assassins to make certain that they don't get hurt," Eric stated when Kyle landed with a moan in the cold water of the waterfall. "Is to tuck themselves into a roll. That will be the first thing we do tonight before we move on to the more Elite training. Are you ready?" It sounded like a trick question and for a brief moment, Eric sounded like he had when Kyle first came to the Inn: calculating and hardened by countless years of training alongside his own mentor. But the Eric that Kyle had seen during bow practice was still there, sparkling in the depths of Eric's eyes.

Kyle rose up and looked at Eric, shivering a little. Truck in a roll. For a second or two, Kyle wanted to back up. For a moment, he saw back the arrow pointed at his face when he was stupidly answering to Eric, the first time they met. His eyes and talking were back to the one of the man he had feared without as much admiration as he did during their latest classes. But he stayed there, took his courage and nodded at the man. He could do that. He could stand and try to be brave, listen to his orders and bring them to work.
