The Moon's Eclipse(closed)

Eric couldn't help but split a small, hidden grin at Kyle's fumbling. "He reminds me of me when I was a student, though his student days were well behind him and now Eric was striving for Master Assassin. With a deep breath, Eric closed his eyes and tilted it to the sky. He remained quiet for a while before he turned to Kyle. "Do you know the Creed?" He questioned.

"If I know the Creed? Ouf course I know it!"

After that, he was scared to say more. What sort of mean jokes could take out his own new master if he knew about his past? His story sounded like the one of a crappy super hero, with the orphan stuff and all. He used to steal books away from the Guild's members when he was younger (and still did) to know about their people, without even understanding half of what he read. Most of those books were boring as shit, I couldn't help but sleep! Not my fault, right...?!

Eric snorted, obviously not believing the boy. "You obviously don't," he snarled and narrowed his eyes. "One thing you should know about me, boy: I don't like liars and will not tolerate them." He remained quiet for a moment before he breathed out a few words that sounded like the devil himself was saying them.
"Never lie to me,"

Kyle's big brown eyes went wide-open as he swallowed his fear, hands tightly closed on the shirt. Man, I've never seen a dude like him! He's probably Satan... Or Lucifer... Or Beelzebub!! ... Wait, aren't they all the same person?"

The kid looked away, trying to find a way to excuse himself, nervously. But he couldn't say a word. After a moment, when he biggest part of his fear went away, he turned to Eric. His cheeks were pale as snow.

"I... I know about middle age crusades...!"

That's it? That's the only thing I could tell him? Man, I suck!

Eric laughed, though it was a short laugh. "When I asked if you knew the Creed," he rumbled. "I did not mean how much the Brotherhood has grown. I meant the rules by which we live. The Creed that we follow."

"The rules?"

He looked at Eric, his shoulder suddenly down, his face slowly turning red. The hell? Which rules?

"I've been told not to eat the mouth wide-open at the table... and to take off my shoes when I enter the house. Oh, and also to wear clothes when we're at the park and that it's summer and that they raise up that biiiiig foutaiiiin and that the day's super hot so..."

He stopped, suddenly embarrassed.

" We... weren't talking about those rules, right...?"

Infuriated, Eric lunged toward the boy, grabbing his collar and slamming him against the wall behind them, his face mere inches from Kyle's. "The Tenants!" He shouted in rage, the shout sounding more like the roar of a lion than anything. "You're not a true Assassin, nor a true Student because you do not know our Tenets!" Eric kept the boy there, his eyes blazing from underneath his hood as he stared into the boy's eyes.

"Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent. Do not take the life of an innocent! Hide in plain sight. Let the people mask you so that you become one with the crowd! And lastly," Eric's voice seemed to rise and sound even more demonic than it had earlier. "Never compromise the Brotherhood. Your actions must never bring harm upon us--Direct or indirect!"

Kyle slightly screamed when his shoulders hit the wall. Those rules? I've heard them a lot...! Who ever knew they were going to ask me about it? . He tried to take his breath. Impossible, this dude was about to kill him! He closed his eyes, before suddenly taking out his Swiss knife. But instead of attacking Eric, he putted the weapon under his shirt and cut it out in a second, dropping on the floor, leaving his torn black sleeveless hoodie to Eclipse. He ran away enough to take out his gun, trembling like never he felt himself trembling. He wasn't even able to hold the gun like normal.

"D-don't touch me!"

Upon seeing the gun being held improperly, Eric snorted and, as fast as lightning, whipped out his bow and strung an arrow. "Please," he snarled. "You'd be dead before you could shoot that thing. Either that, or you'd shoot your own foot off. Now you asked me to train you. Unless you want to die by my hand, I suggest you put the gun down and learn to grow the fuck up!"

"You're going to kill me!"

Kyle shook his head. He surely didn't wanted to end up as his father, I wanted to live still! That arrow, pointed at him, was totally ready to pass through his neck in a second. He was going to drown in his own blood... He stayed there a minute before slowly calming, like if he was about to collapse like a schoolgirl. But all he did was to gently drop the weapon on the floor.

"I..."

As the gun struck the grass with a soft thud, Eric lowered his bow and released the tension in the arrow as he gazed down at the boy. "You what?" He questioned.

"I..."

He stayed like that a moment. He actually took out his gun to point at another Assassin...? He was... nothing more than a blasphemy! Impossible to hide his sad look under his fake glasses. He stayed there a moment before whispering, as if his dad was about to punish him.

"I am sorry..."

Eric gave a small snort, sheathing his arrow and his bow. "You will learn, Kyle," he stated. "You will learn that the Brotherhood is your family and you must protect that family at all cost. Even if it means your life. You will grow to become an Assassin one day. But for now, you're a student."

"I don't want ending up like nothing"

He stayed there before looking back to Eric, trying to stay strong in front of that man. He looked like he had a heart made out of rock! He putted his hand on the opposite arm. Damn, I should have thought before cutting out my shirt! Now I look like a twat

"I'm tired of... being a weight for people..."

"Then Assassin training," Eric stated. "Will allow you to not become a burden. If you want to be useful, then you will listen to me and go through the training."

He nodded, silent for a long moment. What was he even suppose to do, now? Go back to his motel or stay there with the Assassin? He was still totally believing he was an adult. He had too much assurance in his moves... But at least, what he knew now, was that Eclipse was going to help him, or at least start up the job.

"It's late," Eric said, glancing briefly at the sky for a moment before turning back to the boy. "Come. I'll take you to my Den and show you to the Student quarters." Eric then leapt up onto the next roof and began to head to the east, not even bothering sparing a glance behind him at Kyle.

"Wha-"

Kyle looked around. What about his gun, and his bike? But Eclipse was already ahead of him. No time to take care of that, he was going to loose him! He started running and jumped. And least his body was light enough to do parkour. That was almost the only thing he was good at. That and being a total fool.

"But my things...!"

Eric didn't seem to hear Kyle's cry about his things. "Leave them," he called, twisting around the second he had his feet on the wall and sat there at the edge of the roof staring down at the boy with a hard gaze. "You don't need them. The Brotherhood will supply all your needs." Kyle's definition of needs were probably different than Eric's. Needs to Eric were weapons, a roof over his head, food and shelter.

He lightly followed him, trying to focus on his goal, follow as fast as he could that man. Parkour was his way to get out, when he was younger, from robberies and vandalism acts he did on local stores. Sometimes he got caught by the police, but most of the time, he was able to escape by running, jumping and climbing. That's where he learned about the art of free-running...

"A-Alright...!"

Eric continued to race across the rooftops until he landed on one that was around a much less densely populated area of the city. There, he dropped down silently onto the street below and, fixing his hood, approached a building at the corner of the road. Now, to those who didn't know any better, like civilians like Kyle, it was just an ordinary hotel(Think like...a very fancy-looking hotel. I can't think of any off the top of my head right now XD). However, to Eric and others of the Brotherhood, this was their home.

Eric opened the door and stepped inside, dropping his hood down and revealing his black hair that dropped down into emerald green eyes. In the light, his robes were actually dark red accented with black, however it had looked pitch black earlier, outside. He took a deep breath and exhaled, obviously glad to be back.

Kyle shyly followed Eclipse, arms covering his nude chest, feeling totally humiliated, but still, he was voiceless. That man was totally different under the lights of the chandeliers hanging on the roof, but stayed like dangerous fire for Kyle. Man, this is totally embarrassing! I mean, what does it looks like when a dude takes in a nude young man to a hotel? JAPANESE PORN. And girls keep going like Kyah. I wonder if...

But he stopped, surprised. Those emerald green eyes were nothing like he have seen before. He had to admit he never saw people with green eyes during his whole life. The closer he could remember was bluish green that looked more like dirty water to him. But for once, he was able to see real green in the eyes of someone. Maybe they were eye lenses... I couldn't get himself to ask that to Eric without the fear of getting in front for an arrow again. He kept his question for himself.

"It's... here?"

He quickly shook his head.

"I mean, this place is the Cincinnati Assassin Headquarter?"

Eric gave a small nod and turned toward Kyle, his green eyes shimmering brightly. "This is it," he said with a nod and then a small laugh escaped his throat. "Most of us are out on missions. Some of them like taking their missions at night. It makes for better killing and keeps us hidden, where, in daylight, we have to use the crowds to hide us before and after each kill." Eric took a deep breath and then beckoned for the boy to follow him. "Come. I'll show you where the Student's sleep. You'd be surprised, Kyle. This place isn't as it seems. It looks like an Inn as a front to keep us hidden. But, it's really our Den."

Eric began to head down a long hallway that held several paintings along one wall and the other was bare, save a few pictures scattered along its length. He halted in front of a door that seemed rather small. "Mind you," he said gently, a hand curling around the doorknob. "Most of them will be out with their Mentors. Tonight, all you have to worry about is sleeping. I'll introduce you to the rest of the Assassins in the morning, when most of them will be back." Eric then opened the door and the room unfolded before them. It was quite large with several beds lining the walls on either side, leaving enough room for one to walk through. The walls were ocean blue and even smelt of the seaside, though they were nowhere near the ocean.

Smells like, thought Kyle, surprised. Smells like when we used to go to the beach with dad! He turned to Eric, then to the beds, then again to Eric.

"You're leaving?"

He was like scared of being left alone. Eclipse looked a lot younger that what he told him... not that he was going on the flattery stuff, but he really looked younger. He stayed silent a moment before smiling. Weirdly, he felt great, like really being part of the Brotherhood for once.

"Eclipse!"

What, now?

"Thanks... for not killing me earlier..."

Eric gave the boy a small nod. "You're an innocent," he stated softly. "I would have been breaking one of the Tenets if I had killed you." Then he proceeded to laugh. "No need to call me by my nickname. Eric will do just fine until the Den master formally makes you my Student. Now, get some rest. I will be speaking with the Den Master tomorrow morning, so be up early."
