World without light (Closed with Guillotine)

A young woman sat on the corner of a busy street, begging for coins. She was completely ignored by pedestrians, but she continued begging, even when it started raining. A good samaritan took pitty on her, and dropped five dollars in her can, and a protein bar.
"Bless you, kind sir."

The young woman found shelter, and opened the protein bar she had been given. She nibbled at it slowly, too scared to eat it all. She heard a soft meow, and looked down at the small scrawny cat that had wandered up to her.
"Of course you can have some" the young woman said as she broke a piece of the bar off and gave it to the cat. The cat sat eating the bit of food before curling up beside the woman.

As soon as the rain let up, the young woman went on her way, tapping the ground with her wooden staff to see, the cat following her closely.

"Speak. It will benefit everyone."

The man spoke calmly, but his actions ran the opposite as he brought his knee into the templars stomach, making the woman grunt. The masked, hooded man remained silent, and shoved her against the wall.

"I am impartial to killing you. But I'd rather not. I want to know the whereabouts of your new weapons." The templar agent held nothing but fear in her eyes, at she stared into those of the man's soulless mask.
"Weapons...? How did you-" The man slapped her across the face, not inflicting much pain, but showing her how she was insignificant to him. He placed one gloved hand on her collar, and the other around her throat, but did not squeeze.

"You cannot hide anything from me. Your secrets carry no value." The glove around her throat starts to slowly warm up with heat, and the red eyes in his mask start to glow under his hood.

"I will uncover your darkest information, with the light of my will." The templar starts breathing heavy as the glove begins to burn.

"I will expose your most guarded of secrets. Like a Flare in the in the depths of your soul." The templar starts crying softly, not begging, but crying, broken. The man's gloves stop glowing. He pulls her up to his mask until her eyes are level with his. "Submit to m-" He stops mid sentence as he hears the faint sound of footsteps, and the ever-apparent meow of a cat.

The young woman heard the feint sobbing of the Templar, and carefully approached the two. She looked at them, her cloudy eyes revealing that she was in fact blind. She placed her fingers on the trembling Templar's face, feeling the tears.
"She has no secrets to tell" the blind woman said before walking away slowly, tapping her staff along the floor to find her way. She stopped again, and tilted her head towards the two. "Try gripping the webbing between her thumb and index, works wonders. Plus she'll actually be able to talk."

The man watched without movement as the blind woman interacted. The webbing pressure point, yes. He had learned it when he was an assassin...perhaps. He turned his attention back to the sobbing templar, and gently brought her hand to his, and pinched the webbing. The sobs turned into yelps.

"I am going to ask you one last time. Please do not make me kill you. The templars received a shipment of weapons from Europe. Where. Are. They. Going." The templar cried out, her knees buckling.

"Arlington! They..are going to Arlington...west street..." The masked man released her, and she fell to the floor, sitting on her knees, silent in defeat.

"Thank you." The masked man said, and extended his right forearm downward. In the blink of an eye, a red, plasma blade extends from his wrist, and cuts into the templar woman's forehead, killing her instantly. He retracts his blade, and faces the blind woman. "Now, who are you, and what side are you on?"

"I'm Meekara, and I'm on the side of the Assassins. Who might you be, and who do you work for" Meekara asked before she began rifling through the dead Templar's pockets until she found the wallet. She took the money, leaving the cards and personal effects. Meekara closed the Templar's eyes, and brushed her hair from her face.

Meekara. The name sounded familiar. Very familiar. Of course, the blind assassin. The man remained expressionless behind his mask. He pulled out an outdated paper map, and began scanning Arlington. "I'm on no side. I do what needs to be done. Whether it's against the templars, " He runs his finger across West Street. "Or against the Creed." His finger stopped on a building, which seemed to be the only one larger than the rest in area. He looked at Meekara. "And believe me, I'll do the same to an assassin as I did to this one." He nods to the dead Templar, and as Meekara steals from her, he smirks under his mask. Feeling done with the interaction, the man approaches the wall, and begins to climb.

"Best be careful out there" Meekara said before heading off into a shop, emerging a bit later with a bag of rice and some cat food. The cat, who had been waiting outside, followed her.

"The young ones are always rushing into things. Granted, I probably would've done the same, but Hanzo would've smacked some sense into me." Meekara seemed as though she was talking to the cat, but it was more interested in the food. "You can have it when we get home."

(Oh geez I hope it's okay to come in here or if this will be smooth). A man was slowly walking down the street, bored. He wore a simple white jacket, which lightly fluttered behind him, a gray long sleeve shirt, black jeans and shoes, and a solid gray hat. His hair flowed lightly, yet not much like the jacket. As he walked, he idly looked ahead, hands in pockets. Ahead, he noticed a woman and presumably her cat, the woman talking to seemingly the cat. He grinned a bit, thinking how cute the cat was. Other than that, he merely walked, going wherever seemed nice. Following the cat seemed good for a while.

(The more the merrier mate.)

Damned templars, the man thought. There are just so many of them.

He silently jumped across the small gap between two rooftops, and continued to sprint. He needed to find Meekara. He hated asking for help, but he would have been way over his head doing this alone. He dived off the side of the building, his black cape flowing behind him, and rolled onto the much lower rooftop. From there he quickly scaled his way down to the street, and emerged out of an alley corner, as if coming forth from the shadows, in front of Meekara.

"I need your help, miss." The masked man paused, and nodded to a space behind the blind assassin. "Who the hell is that." He asked, in a monotonous statement, his mask's eyes growing red as they stared at the other man.

"It's not Trump again, is it? I told him, no more showers" Meekara said sarcastically. She pointed to her cloudy eyes, "Blind, couldn't see if I wanted to. Judging by their scent, it's a man. Light footsteps, Assassin. Probably following the cat, people do that." Meekara knelt down, and gently stroked the cat which soon began purring loudly. She thought for a moment before turning to the young man. "I will help you, but there's something I need to know first. What's your name? Or, what shall I call you."

He smirked lightly, and said,"Seeing how great that was, gotta be honest with you. Name's Callum, Callum Butcher.". As he said that, he walked a few steps closer, and extended his hand in greetings. It was obviously prosthetic - and high-tech at that, as it seemed like any other hand, not clunky. He continued, "only reason I'm tellin' ya is that you're either a friendly Assassin or two Templars I won't be able to take on with a simple butterfly knife.". He looked around a bit, and mumbled, "A quad-amputee, a blind, and a robot meet-up... Starting of a bad joke there..."

Under his mask, the man smirked silently. I suppose there are some similarities between me and a robot, he thought, though he did not correct the man. "As well as a cat," he mutters to Callum, and then faces Meekara. "Call me Flare. You assassins don't usually seem too keen to help when I give my real name." He brought out a paper map, and was about to explain his findings, but decided to include Callum as well. "That templar I interrogated led me to this warehouse, right here-" He rolled his one eye under his mask, realizing he was showing a map to a blind person, and turned to show Callum the map, but still spoke to the two of them. "It is HEAVILY guarded, 9 guards per exit, of which there are 2, not counting windows, vents, etc., rotations every 3 minutes, patrols on the surrounding buildings, and what I counted as over 40 on the inside. It's a massive operation, with at least 20 large crates of new-age weapon-tech being stocked and organized. I have no problem getting inside, but it's too large of a force for me to take down myself, or even with the three of us. Not by combat. " He paused, and looked at the two others. "There is an upside, though; none of the buildings surrounding the warehouse are occupied. Which means, a large detonation of some sort, would have a very small percentage of causing civilian damage. " As he delivered his final sentence, containing his idea, he folds up the map.

"My name's Meekara. I know everything that happens on these streets. Best source of intel to the Assassins" Meekara said as she took Callum's hand. "Always got an ear to the ground" she said proudly as she pointed to her bare feet.

"I think I can be of some assistance. When I was little, Hanzo used to teach me about some of the older weapons the Assassins used to use. Point is, with modern technology, the Templars won't expect us to use old technology, catch them off guard. I have some supplies at home, as well as a few bombs I stole from the Templars." Meekara seemed happy to help, life on the streets had been quiet of late. She was happy that neither of them seemed to mind that she looked like a hobo.

Callum scratched his chin, thinking. "Sounds solid, and I like the idea of bombs... I would reccomend detonation during time of shift change - where-in there are theoretically for a short time 18 guards per exit. They would in theroy all rush out, spare a few maybe, leaving even less to deal with on the inside. We will, of course, have to first neutralize outer-patrols first, as mentioned. Possibly via detonation,or manually. Of course, problem is, that'll take loadsa firepower.". He nodded lightly at the nickname, approving. "Solid name. Friends call me 'Gandalf the Both, for... Obvious reasons.".

Flare ignored the banter, and turned to Meekara. "Old bombs you say? Sounds effectively." Regardless of his mask, you could see his face light up at the idea of a bomb. "But, it won't be nearly big enough of an explosion, as Mr Butcher mentioned. I could quickly assemble a make-shift bomb of larger magnitude, but I need to analyze one of the explosives you speak of." Flare looked at his analog watch. "I reckon we have around 24 hours before the templars use this tech. That'll only give me enough time to modify one. Mr. Butcher, you seem like you can handle yourself in the logistics of this little anarchy. Would it be much to ask you to visit the site, and plan out a course of action? I feel as though this mission will take precision..." Flare held out the paper map to Callum.

"Trust me, you'll like these bombs. They were made by a Templar by the name of La Laurie, their technical wonder child. Place them at key structural points, building will be as flat as a pancake. I can find the weak points." Meekara picked the cat up, and put it on her shoulder before picking up her bag. She wasn't going to let them know about her gifts just yet. Meekara had been used and abused many times before which is why she dropped off the grid for a while.

Looking at the map, he let a small grin creep onto his face. He gleefully took it, and immediately laid it flat on the ground, took a picture of it, and quickly picked it back up. He sent the image to a few people, and called one after waiting a bit. "You get the pic? Yeah, that large warehouse - heavily guarded. New-age Templar tech. 2 exits, excluding windows and all that. Find something on it, fact check it all 'n' shit, and tell 'em to meet up. Roof of... wherever I am. Yes, I know you have a GPS on this thing. See you soon.". He promptly hang upk and turned to Flare. "Just called Assassin pals. Great people. Fuckin' loonies, too. Perfect combo. Come up if ya want.". He gave a small thumbs up, and promptly climbed to the roof of the nearest building.

Meekara looked up, wondering where he was off to. She shook her head, and looked at Flare. She seemed a bit hesitant about inviting people to her hideout, it wasn't exactly the kind of place people would willing go.
"There's an old shack just outside of town, right on the edge of the forest. Meet me there."

Flare nodded at Callum, and then turned to Meekara. "I will meet you there. I doubt this will take long." He swiftly turned and scaled the building. He didn't like that Callum was bringing more people into this, but it wasn't his call anymore.

Meekara headed off to the shack that was her home. Listening carefully as usual to make sure she wasn't being followed. As soon as she got home, she washed the day's dirt from her face before lighting a small fire to boil some water for tea. She opened the cat food, and put some out for her new furry friend.
"You're welcome to stay, I'd like it if you could. It's always nice to have someone to talk to" Meekara said as she stroked the cat before digging around for the weapons, bombs, and supplies. She found the box where she left it, and felt to make sure everything was still there. She poured herself a cup of tea, pulled out a book printed in Braille, and read while she waited for the others.

After a short while, some people started to arrive. The first was a man dressed in simple Assassin robes, though it seemed heavily modified and re-painted at some spots. His hood was down, showing a long mane of red hair and sporting a fair beard, the next a woman, based off her figure, as her face and head was covered by mask and hood. On her back was a sniper rifle, of quite well size, a silencer attached to it. Lastly, a dksheveled man in robes aswell, though hooded and ash stained. Waving, Callum said, "So - mission's simple. Break in, eliminate, steal, leave. Problem is, heavily guarded.". He filled them in with the rest of the details - introducing them as well. "That's Mitch," he pointed to the red-haired man, "Ollie", he pointed to the woman, "and Tyler.", his finger stopping on the ash-stained man.

Flare nodded. "Exactly. Now, I'm off to Meekara's rendezvous to get the explosives. I want you and your team to get in position at the buildings. Here's my number-" Flare hands Callum a slip of paper. "-when I give the signal, I want you all to take out your respective patrols." He places his hand on Callum's shoulder. "Stay in contact." And with that, he jumped off the building.

Flare turned a corner, and saw the forrest line. Checking his surroundings, he silently moves into the trees. After a few minutes of careful walking, he notices a small structure, and approaches.

"Cozy." He says, and steps into the shack. "Any luck finding those explosives?" He says, noticing the tea, but still moving about in an unnecessary rush.

At some point, Meekara had decided that she would read to the cat. She quickly found her favourite story and happily read it aloud to the cat.
"It is said that in Ulthar, which lies beyond the river Skai, no man may kill a cat..."

Meekara had just finished reading as Flare entered the shack. She set aside the book, and finished her tea before turning to flare.
"You really should knock, by the way." Meekara grabbed the box of bombs, and put them on the table. "If you attach them to the key points, the probe drills into the concrete or steel, and delivers some of the explosive into the point, as well as being a charge on the surface itself. I'll find the key points" Meekara said before making sure the fire was out. She strapped on an old hidden blade, and grabbed her staff. "Right then, let's get going." Meekara paused, and turned to look at the cat, "Look after yourself, Menes. I'll be back later, there's probably a rat or two around here for you to catch and eat."

Flare took the one of the bombs in his hand, and took of his mask to examine it. His face was mocha, with the entirety of the right side burnt. He held it in his hands, weighed it, and shook it near his ear. "Yes, this will do. And did you want to find the trigger locations before we go in fully, or as we initiate the full attack? As we speak, Mr. Butcher and his associates should be making a time-sensitive plan as to getting inside effectively. "

"I think it's better to find the key points before we go in. I don't need to be inside to do it. Just get me close enough to the building so I can touch it, and I'll tell you exactly where to place the charges." Meekara pulled up her mask, smiling at it's scent. It was a black silk mask with kanji embroidered on each cheek. It was her mentor's mask, her father's mask.
"Anata ni keiiwohyosuru, otosan."
