PostSubject: Guillotine   Thu Jun 18, 2015 7:02 pm

A large crowd starts to set in as a great general orders the younger soldiers around. A rather large guillotine stands in the middle of a stage. People spit at each other and push others around. The guillotine is a rather fine one, made of wood, and it's very sturdy and seems to have been used for some time. Dried blood sits upon the sides and blade. Recent deaths had occurred. Three thieves had stolen a child's woman. The poor thing was never found.

A darkened cloud starts to settle over Paris. A light drizzle starts as ten hooded men walk up onto the stage; their hands are tied with thick, itchy rope. The wood creaks as each assassin walks up onto the stage. People riot, there are frequent fights in the crowd, and when the guards arrive, there would often be about two to three skilled officers with sharp sabers against four to six civilians with kitchen knives.

The jagged edge of a knife tears at a young officer's chest. He falls onto the ground and blood spills upon the floor. A thick layer of dust covers the ground. Another officer arrives to his partner's aid and kills the civilian with the swipe of his saber. A clean slash was all it took. Seeing their decapitated friend, the rest of the gang came into the clearing to fight the one officer and his wounded friend. As five of them closed in on him, a man ran from the crowd. His jumped into the fight, punching a member of the gang in the jaw, shattering it to pieces.

Then, the hooded man protracted a wrist blade, which he then proceeded to slice two of the member's necks open. The others kept on going. The officer that was fighting had been stabbed in the leg, but killed one of the gang members, luckily. The hooded figure shot the other two with his pistol. In one second, a cloud of smoke appeared. Then, he was gone. A hooded gentleman on the stage closed his eyes as he waited for the huge blade to decapitate him. He closed his eyes and a tear dropped slowly. The blade flew down. The head rolled off the stage, into the crowd. An abundance of assassins watched the scene from atop the roof of a very large house.

"How could we let this happen!" Ace screamed out. "We need to get them out of there, quickly and then find the man who caused this!" Said another member of the brotherhood. There were about 20 guards, extremists, to be exact, all equipped with axes, sabers, and guns. "Let's go." Ace said as he leaped from his building to another one with ease. He waited for the others to approach. A lone eagle circled around the assassins.

A dark robed Assassin had stood beside Ace, hood hiding most of his fine features. A french cutlass hung at his sides, twin pistols stuck in his belt. When Ace moved, Adrien followed, sliding down onto a rooftop just opposite his Brother. The crowd grew louder the harder the guards pushed against them. Adrien's hand gripped tight against the roof he was crouched on and his head lifted to his fellow Assassins. He was itching to cut some throats and free his imprisoned brothers. "What is your call, Frère?"(brother) He asked calmly in Ace's direction. He tended to do this if he was out with other Assassins. He would ask another what their call was, even though he was close to becoming a Master Assassin.

Ace watched over the crowd as another assassin was heading towards the guillotine. Ace looked at Adrien. "Honestly, I believe that we should come at the stage from behind the stage and drop a couple of smoke bombs. We need to make sure that the others see us. From here, we shall use our ranged weapons as much as we can, without drawing too much attention. Of course, we can take a different approach, if you can think of one." Ace walked along the newly paved roof, thinking with each step. The assassin jumped down onto the ground, and came from the smelly alley that he had landed in. He pushed through the crowd. After a few seconds, the next assassin stepped and was set up. The rather dirty executioner sneaked in a smile. Ace sneakily pointed his left wrist at the executioner. He shot the phantom blade at the man, which fell down in the center of the stage. Blood poured from the wound in his forehead. A man next to Ace, probably the only one watching him, gasped and froze in fright. A rather elderly chap at that. Ace whispered a "Shh" and stepped out of the crowd.

Adrien watched Ace move off and soon followed after, running low across the rooftops before he dropped in behind the guillotine, pulling out a small round object from his pocket. He examined it for a moment before he slid into place behind the platform, hidden from sight. He took a breath and tossed the circular object onto the stage, white smoke billowing from it and expanding over the entire stage.

At that point, Adrien climbed over the edge and stopped in front of one Brother. Adrien said nothing, except dipped his head in a small nod. His hidden blade slid free the second he flexed a wrist and he placed it up under the items bounding his Brother's hands, pulling it quickly outward with a snap. Once his blade was free, Adrien moved on to the next stand, dropping an additional smoke bomb just to be certain he had enough cover to complete the job. This was next to normal for him, always dropping in and freeing imprisoned Brothers and Sisters from death. It certainly was different from all the other things he'd done before he'd joined the Brotherhood.

The several assassins thanked the brother, one by one. "Where are the others?" Thought Ace. He watched as each person disappeared from the scene. "Rather rude, isn't it!" Ace cried on the roofs.  He looked at all of them. "You think throwing smoke bombs excessively would help him!?! Heck, some of you could have at least gotten down there to free the others. Pff, it's too late now, and there's no point arguing about it." Ace looked over the crowd once more. "Ace, leave." An assassin in a brown and tan robe with several maroon sashes had spoken calmly to him. Ace responded suprisingly with "Que voulez-vous dire, mon frère?" He looked strangely at the fellow assassin. "Vous avez tué un homme innocent." "Quoi!?! Vous agissez blasphématoire. When did you see me do this!?" "Down below, when you slayed those thieves." "They were, in no way innocent!" "No, not them. You probably never noticed. You ripped a man's chest open while showing off." "What!?! No, no, I did not choose to do this. It was a mistake!" "Je suis désolé, brother." "Please good man, be reasonable." Added another man. "You can't possibly banish him." "No!" Cried Ace in disbelief. The man swung at Ace, but he dodged it. The man swung out his saber as hacked at Ace. After an abundance of dodging, Ace counter attacked with a kick to the face. The man, rather unstable, fell back, off the roof. To the ground, he went. "No...NO!!! What!? How could this happen?" Panicking, Ace placed his sword down upon the roof. He took his phantom blade and placed that down as well. Next came his hidden blade. As the others aided the fallen assassin, Ace ran off.

Aiden looked up at the rooftops the second a commotion broke free. He gave a roll of his eyes and finished his job before racing after his freed brothers, jumping up high and catching hold of a ledge and hoisting himself up the building. He glanced over in the direction of where Ace was fleeing and Aiden gave a growl, his teeth clenching within his mouth. "Lâche!" He cried after the fleeing man. "Vous préférez courir à aider vos collègues Brothers!?" Aiden had seen an Assassin run off before when the job wasn't finished. It usually meant they had a coward's heart, or that they'd betray the Brotherhood.

Aiden had seen betrayal once. It had been his best friend too, and he vowed never to get close to another Assassin as long as he was one himself. It had benefited him that way and he'd stayed alive a lot longer than other young Assassins. With a sigh, Aiden began to race across the roofs before he looked back at the Assassins that remained and shouted out to them. "Retour au Sanctuaire!" Aiden resumed his flee across the rooftops, only hoping that the others were following him out of sight of the Guillotine.

Ace stopped to look behind him. He could see Adrien and several others, some distance away, in pursuit. Ace called out, "Merde!" He began to run at full speed and was coming closer to the ledge. Then, Ace took a huge leap and landed on a balcony. From there, he either had the choice to climb up, hop down, or rush through the apartment. He grabbed onto a ledge and pulled up. He kept on climbing up until he reached the rooftops. Ace did not look back from there. He seemed to be getting closer and closer to the Notré Dame.

Aiden felt his heart flare with rage. Ace was truly fleeing from him! Growling, he glanced over at a couple other Brothers, signalling them to fan out. They'd either cut Ace off, or stop him dead in his tracks. Aiden hoped that the latter would happen because he wanted to speak with his "Brother" about what had just happened. Coming closer to the edge, Aiden sprang up into the air the second his foot struck the edge of the building. Halfway through the air, Aiden's arms moved forward and hands caught onto the building, the momentum aiding him in his climb up. "Ace!" He shouted rather angrily, his feet continuing his run across the roof. "Arrêtez! Je veux parler avec toi!"

Ace could not keep this up any longer. He did NOT want to face the wrath of the other brothers. He was truly enraged with them, but he could not figure why. Ace stood on the ledge of a rooftop. "So many of these guillotines." He thought. Ace stared down at an alleyway. A woman was being thrashed and thrown around violently. Ace hesitated to wait for Adrien. He grabbed his pistol with both hands, aimed at one of the men, and shot. The young man fell over, crying in pain. Ace shot at his leg and the bullet had entered. Ace suddenly started having flashbacks of his brother. Bloody streets and spears. As the others arrived, Ace started to plea, saying, "Sorry, I have done...bad."

Adrien slowed to a walk once he landed on the roof behind Ace and calmly approached the other Assassin. He thought about his words carefully, his eyes scanning the ground for a moment before he turned back to his fellow Assassin, his eyes concerned as he searched Ace's face for answers to questions that rose up within the French Assassin's mind. "Why did you jus' leave our Brozers back zere?" He asked quietly, his eyes going up to the sky for a moment. "Ils auraient été tués."(they could have been killed)

The eagle had flown overhead, as Dodge felt himself align with this time period. Dodge did a weapons check, just one of his hidden blades, throwing knives, and two daggers hidden on his person, no smoke bombs or pistols. Dressed in inexpensive and common items to blend in with the masses of people, unless someone was looking for him specifically it would be difficult to tell him apart from a beggar of some sort.
The commotion caused by smoke bombs and people running caused Dodge to immediately switch to his special sense, and saw several people with golden glows in the smoke. (Thats the assassins. I aim to gain an audience with them.) he thought to himself and mentally tagged them so that they would always be visible with his special sense.

As they ran, Dodge knew there was very little chance in their finding an ally in him if he chased after them. So with patience, he searched for a high position and began to climb to reach it so as to see the whereabouts of any he had tagged with his special sense. After all, for his purposes he would need allies.

Adrien gave a quiet sigh and turned to Ace, his eyes soft. "I guess it does not matter your reasonings," said the Frenchman, turning away from Ace. "Assurez-vous qu'elle ne se reproduise pas."(Just make sure it doesn't happen again) With those words, Adrien dropped into the street below and rolled, rising to his feet and wiping off his shoulders before straightening out his jacket and fixing his belt, his sword giving a soft rattle before he took a deep breath and sighed. He would head home, not go to the sanctuary. The others probably already told the Maître about the incident and he would handle the situation when Ace returned to the sanctuary.

Adrien gave a whistle and a neigh returned the call. Trotting down the street toward him was a beautiful white stallion. It had been his gift as a child and had served him well over the years. "Come, charmant," he said softly, swinging aboard the stallion's back. "Let us go 'ome." The stallion snorted in response and swung around, trotting back down the street and heading in the direction of his family's home, the place he'd been raised.
