Shattered Sanity

"I know, I'm sorry" Ffion said with a sigh as she gently placed her hand on his. She looked up at him with a small smile before planting a gentle kiss on his lips. Ffion immediately retreated, blushing quite a bit. "I'm sorry, Rue, it won't happen again" she said quietly, embarrassed by what she had done. During her time with him, she had developed feelings for him and Samuel.

Roulette seemed taken by surprise by her actions but allowed a smile to play on his lips anyway before he followed her further down the road. He reached over and slid his hand in hers, giving it a squeeze to let her know he was there. He, and Samuel both, had developed feelings for her as well, though he would never openly admit it. At least not yet.

Ffion couldn't help but smile when Roulette held her hand. In that moment, she felt safe, she felt normal. Indeed, the two looked like a normal couple on a stroll.

Upon arriving at the house, the two were greeted by a hilarious sight. Rocket had gotten into a bag of flour, and there were little paw prints across the kitchen.
"Oh for the love of..." Ffion grabbed the raccoon, and set him in the sink before running some warm water with some bubbles before she set about cleaning the kitchen. Rocket was trying to eat the bubbles, and splashed about happily in the sink.

Roulette shook his head at the sight, locking the door behind him before he threw the keys on their hook. With a sigh of what sounded like relief, he kicked off his shoes and flopped down on the sofa, turning the TV on to see what there was to watch.

Once Ffion had finished cleaning the kitchen, she took Rocket out of the sink, and dried him off before wrapping him up in a towel as she made her way to the couch. Ffion curled up in a small ball in the corner of the couch, and draped a blanket over herself and the young raccoon, watching whatever Roulette decided to watch. Her mind was racing, thinking of Roulette and Samuel, how Roulette had rescued her, and how they had allowed her to stay in their home. Now that she had developed feelings for them, she wasn't sure how she should deal with everything. She wanted to stay, but she assumed that they wouldn't like her staying there forever.

Roulette's mind began to hurt at around 5:30 am, which is when his show went off into a movie he'd put into the VHS player. Soon, he was giving off a soft moan of pain and settled himself further onto the couch, closing his eyes in hopes that his pain would disappear...it didn't.

Ffion moved closer to Roulette, and sang for Roulette just like she always did. She enjoyed helping them through the transition, it made her feel like they were close, like she was important. She wondered if Samuel and Roulette shared memories, if Samuel would know about what happened at the bar, and if he knew of how she kissed Roulette. Ffion was close enough to Roulette so he could lean on her if he needed to.

Roulette's headache dimmed a bit at her song, though stayed strong enough to put him in a tired mood so he leaned against Ffion as though cuddling her. When he woke, he would be the normal artist he was always.

Ffion smiled as Roulette fell asleep against her. She looked down at Rocket, and realised that her singing had lulled the raccoon into a deep sleep. Ffion wrapped her arms around Roulette, and rested her head on his before falling asleep herself. Her dreams were peaceful that night with no visions of Nathan or Charlotte. Being with Roulette and Samuel had brought her a level of peace, and helped her heal after everything Jack had put her through.

During the night, Sam had wrapped an arm around Ffion in a comforting manner to both her and himself. He gave a small yawn and fell back asleep with her in his arms. This felt nice, he thought.

Ffion woke up at about half past six, and smiled when she realised Samuel was still there with her. Rocket was still curled up against her hip, his little whiskers twitching occasionally. Ffion rested her head on Samuel's shoulder, just enjoying the moment with him. She would take Rocket to the vet later for his shots and the great snip, but she just wanted to relax for a bit.

Sam gave a soft yawn and shifted his position for a moment before he wrapped his other arm around Ffion, pulling her closer to him while his head snuggled into her hair. He was so cute when he slept!

It took everything in Ffion's power to not react to how adorable he was being. She was so tempted to kiss him, but she settled for just hugging him.
"Good morning, Sam" she whispered quietly. She was hoping he wouldn't mind that they had slept on the couch, holding each other.

A soft meh came out of Sam's mouth and he soon found himself cuddling against her for a moment before he blinked open his eyes. "What time is it?" He asked, sleep filling his voice.

"It's about half past seven" Ffion said with a soft chuckle. She hung her head when she remembered how she acted the previous night, what she had done, and how she had behaved. "Did Roulette tell you what happened last night? Do you know?" Ffion was embarrassed by her behaviour, and regretted most of what happened. In a way, she hoped that he didn't know anything, so things wouldn't be awkward between them.

Sam shook his head, stretching his arms high into the air until his muscles trembled. "No," he said simply. "The only thing I know is that I killed someone last night..." Immediately his features changed from normal to that of sadness...

Ffion wrapped her arms tightly around Samuel, resting her forehead on his shoulder.
"I know, Sam, I was there" Ffion said softly. She knew he wouldn't be happy if he found out that she had killed, all just to impress Roulette. Of course, killing was what she was good at, it was what the Templars had trained her to do. She was not only a thief, but now a murderer. Ffion hung her head, and closed her eyes, realising she may have messed things up.

Sam managed to smile and it only got bigger when he saw Rocket scampering around on the floor. He took a breath and shifted on the couch, cupping her face in his hand. "We should get Rocket to a vet today," he said, going over to the raccoon kit and scooping him up gently.

"Ah, yes. He'll need his shots, pills, the great snip, as well as a check up" Ffion said with a chuckle as she watched Samuel and Rocket. The young raccoon gently nibbled Samuel's fingers before trying to bury his head in Samuel's hand. "He's certainly an adorable little burglar. Thank you for letting me keep him, Sam. It really means a lot to me." Ffion leaned back in her seat, and watched the two with a beaming smile.

Sam smiled and cupped the little raccoons head in his hand and gave it a rub. "Then let's get going," he said, scooping the little thing up into his arms. "Though, the great snip's going to have to wait. Too much too soon will definitely not work what with him being so small and all. It's best to just do the pills and shots today. Then we'll wait for the snip."

"I suppose you're right, we can't put the little guy through too much too quickly" Ffion said with a chuckle as she scratched the raccoon gently behind the ear. "I'm just going to get ready quickly. I should take about fifteen minutes." With that, Ffion raced upstairs to shower and get dressed.

Sam smiled and watched her head upstairs while he himself got him and Rocket ready for their visit to the vet. First thing he did was give the poor thing a fresh bath.

The young raccoon really seemed to enjoy bath time, and splashed about in the water happily, occasionally shaking himself off. Ffion was also enjoying her shower, carefully washing the blood from her long ginger hair.

Ffion joined Samuel exactly fifteen minutes later, as promised. She was wearing a pair of navy leggings, white sneakers, and an oversized cream jersey which made her look super cute.
"Ready when you are, Sam" Ffion said happily, eager to get going.

Sam nodded and wrapped Rocket up in a blanket before he headed out to the car, setting the baby raccoon down in the backseat on the blanket he'd wrapped him up in. He sat down in the front seat, strapped himself in and started the car, turning the heat on slightly due to the drop in temperature outside.

Ffion eagerly hopped into the car, pulling on her seatbelt as she closed the door. She liked going out with Samuel, even if it was just to go to the vet. At least they weren't going to see Chris.
"So, are we done with Chris now? Are we also going to see your mentor again" Ffion asked curiously. They were just some of the questions that had been on her mind, but they were the simplest questions she currently had.
