The best of the worst (closed)

Justin gave a nod. He knew she would and that's what worried him the most. "Thanks," he said with a smile, burying his face into the crook of her neck.

Katherine sat in thought for a good long while, thinking of everything that had happened recently: being taken in with the institute, attacked and almost captured by Templars...
"Justin... I think I should join the Assassins" Katherine said quietly. She couldn't believe the words coming out of her own mouth. After she saw what had happened to someone within the brotherhood, she swore she would never get involved with the Assassins again. She was sure that they didn't want her in their ranks because of everything she had done as well as the fact that she had killed not one, but two of their mentors. Granted, the second death was entirely accidental. "That's if they will take me."

Justin looked up at her and smiled, looking as though he were beaming. "I'll get in contact with my mentor," he said eagerly, hardly able to contain his excitement. "I'm sure he'll give you a fair hearing and speak to the King on your behalf."

"Wow, we're really going to the top for this aren't we?" Katherine gently placed a hand on the wound on her shoulder, flinching slightly in pain. "After the incident with the Templars last night, I figured it's about time I chose a side in this war. Just... please don't tell them about Seth, or my bloodline. It'll be safer for everyone."

Justin gave a nod, his smile never disappearing. "Don't worry," he said with a chuckle, laying a hand on her knee. "My mentor's kind and understanding. He'll hear you out and I won't mention your bloodline."

"Thank you, Justin." Katherine placed a gentle kiss on Justin's cheek, a small smile creeping onto lips. "I'd like to get this done as soon as possible." Even before the serum, she had the potential to be a good Assassin, and if they still had her files from her very brief time with mentor Callum Butcher, they would have some information on her already.

Justin nodded at her and gave her a kiss back before he rose to his feet and made his way outside of the house. Outside, he gave a soft whistle, which drew out a small dove from the treetops. It landed on his shoulder and Justin couldn't help but give its chest a rub before attaching his note to its leg. "Find my mentor," he said simply, knowing the bird knew who he was referring to. It cooed before taking flight and once it was out if his sight, Justin returned to the indoors.

While Justin was outside, Katherine pulled on some pyjamas, and managed to make her way downstairs. She made herself a cup of tea, as well as one for Justin, Seth, and Zarin. Seth was busy studying a terrarium, amazed by some of the plants.
"This is amazing. Some of these plants are from back home." Katherine smiled, and handed Seth a key before leaning against the counter for some support.
"Down the hall, second room on the right. Try not to eat it all." Seth grabbed his tea, and made his way down the hall. He couldn't believe what he saw, dozens of different plants all growing perfectly, including some blue lotus.

Justin stepped back inside and gave a deep breathed sigh before he plopped down onto the sofa again and turned the tv on to his show. It would be a while before his mentor received the letter, so it was good for him to just get comfortable.

Katherine made her way over to the couch, carefully setting the teas on the table before plopping down beside Justin, curling up against him happily. Thankfully, the worst of the poison had worked it's way out of her system, but she still had a seething headache and was still quite a bit nauseous. She pulled a blanket over the two of them before resting her head on Justin's lap.
"Thank you, love" Katherine said softly.

Justin smiled, running his fingers through her hair once her head was in his lap. "You're welcome baby," he said, using the word 'baby' rather strongly, though he said it without any thought. It just rolled right off his tongue.

Katherine loved the feeling of Justin's fingers running through her hair, and she almost fell asleep again. Her constant drowsiness was likely a result of all the meds she was on.
"I love you, babe" she said softly, looking up at him with a warmth in her eyes.

"I love you too," Justin said softly, wrapping an arm around her. He cuddled her as he lifted his eyes to the tv, trying to keep his mind off of his mentor. The letter would reach his master, of that he was sure. He just had to be patient.

Katherine passed out again not long after that. She was understandably exhausted given all the meds she was on, as well as the fact that her body was still healing. What the Hell had the Templars done to her, and how did they know her weakness? The only two people that could possibly know her weakness were Hugo Strange, and Jack as they had created the serum. Either way, she was concerned.

Justin held her close. He didn't know what was going on with her, but he was concerned. Maybe he should keep her inside...no. That wouldn't work. He would rest with her a while before he started any chores. A little while later, a bird came back with a note from his mentor. Justin opened it and read it for a moment before he looked to Kat. He'd wake her up later and tell her that his mentor wanted to meet her.

An incredibly strange looking creature made its way over to the couch, and curled up at their feet, placing a gentle paw on both Katherine and Justin's feet. It didn't seem very stable on its feet, and had had a few blue petals sticking out the corner of its mouth.
"You two look too cute together" Seth said quietly with a chuckle in his animalistic form.

Justin looked down at Seth and couldn't hold in a chuckle of his own. "And you," he said with a chuckle in his voice. "Are adorable." He bent down and scooped Seth up from the foot of the couch and placed him between both of them right under the blanket.

Seth wasn't sure of the feeling of being picked up by a human, but he wasn't going to fight it. He curled up happily between the two of them, snuggling up beneath the blanket. The fox had curled up beside Justin, and had fallen asleep, twitching slightly as it dreamed.
"Thank you, Justin" Seth said with a happy sigh. "And thank you for looking after her, to continue the family legacy of being a hidden one."

Justin smiled down at the animal Seth and laid a hand on his head, giving his fur a stroke. "I will always look out for her," he said simply, looking over at his Kitten. "No matter what."

"Thank you, Justin." Katherine snuggled up against Justin a bit more, just loving being there with him. Seth pressed his nose against Katherine's forehead, and let out a sigh of relief. "At least her fever is gone" he said quietly. It would seem like the worst had passed, and she would likely get better over the next day or two.

Justin nodded in response and simply fell asleep holding onto his Kit-Kat. He loved her and that was enough for him. Maybe one day he'd have the balls to propose but that was a long time coming.

Katherine slept soundly for the rest of the night, her condition improving slightly every hour. Seth would wake up and check on her occasionally, making sure that she was alright. At one point, he even checked on the house to make sure that there were no intruders. Even in her sleep, Katherine kept herself wrapped around Justin. She would occasionally mumble something in her sleep, but she was immediately comforted by Justin's scent.

Justin would twitch every so often, but not enough to wake her, nor was it enough to be caused for alarm. He always moved around in his sleep, though this was different because he was cuddling his sweet girl. His girl...he liked the sound of that.

Katherine woke up early the next morning feeling so much better, and placed a gentle kiss on Justin's forehead before heading into the kitchen. She warmed up some leftover pizza, nibbling at it as she went about making some coffe for everyone. She looked over at her wound, and let out a sigh of relief when she saw that the black markings were starting to fade.

Justin stirred slightly and gave a soft moan before cuddling up on the couch once more, one foot falling over the edge along with one arm.
