Rise of the Shark((Void)

"Normally that stuff knocks out everything" Darcey whispered nervously. She was scared. Darcey tightened her grip on her sword, and adjusted her footing. She tried to look as calm as possible.

Bryan shook his head in disbelief. The hell were these two? They didn't act like snakes or humans. They acted like demons. His eyes narrowed. They were different than any Assassin he'd faced before.

Darcey finally got tired of standing around waiting for the cobras to strike, so she sat down, and waited on the floor.
"Finally take part in a decent mission, and we can't even find them" Darcey growled. She was cold, tired, and super annoyed.

Bryan was still scanning the horizon when something hissed like that of a snake. He whipped around in time to see movement. "Darcey, look out!" Bryan shouted in a growling manner. He threw one of his swords over her head and saw it disappear into the shadows. Soon after, there was a shout, as though an animal was in pain.
"Is that the best you can do?!" Roared one of the twins as the sword was flung back out to them. Bryan caught the weapon and spun around, making certain that he was checking his back every once in a while, though by the sounds of it the twins were together again.

Darcey jumped up, and held her weapon at the ready. She was going to protect Bryan to the best of her ability.
"When this is over, I really need that holiday" Darcey growled. "We beat them at their own game, move as one."

Bryan nodded just as the two stepped out of the shadows. They looked demonic, their hoods hiding their faces in shadow. Their sabers were out and at their sides. They were ready to move and so was Bryan.

Darcey closed her eyes briefly as she remember the previous night, how they breathed as one, how their hearts beat as one, how they were one. She opened her eyes, looked at Bryan, and nodded. She was an extention of him. Darcey immediately took up the same stance as Bryan, ready to deal with the cobras.
"Do your worst, Assassins."

As soon as she had spoken, the Assassins moved. Each one split up, running on either side of the two Templars. Bryan took a deep breath and focused his eyes on the oldest of the two Templars, the one on his side of the clearing.

Darcey kept her eyes fixed on where she assumed the Assassin would be. She tightened her grip on her sword, and crouched slowly. She looked like some kind of cat, a ferocious creature hellbent on protecting the one she loved.
"Tonight, I will make a name for myself, I will earn a title, and I will prove myself to the order" Darcey growled sinisterly. She dropped her sword, smeared some mud around her eyes, and slipped her hands into her pockets. When she pulled her hands out, it was revealed that she had attached strange claw-like weapons to her hands. "Today, the badger makes her mark..."

Bryan clenched his teeth and felt his lips peel away from them. His eyes narrowed into nothing more but slits. His hands tightened around the hilts of his twin swords and his feet slid into a stance that wasn't known to anyone, Assassin or Templar. He raised his swords into a strange looking stance. One was held at about eye level or a little bit above his head while the other was held at his stomach. Each blade glinted. Right then, he looked about as dangerous as a Shark. Today, the Shark would get a taste for blood.

The moment Darcey caught a glimpse of an Assassin, she spurred into action. Growling ferociously as she swatted at the Assassin with her claws, occasionally trying to throw in a stable. She fought close to the ground, and she fought viciously.

Bryan moved when Darcey moved. He twisted and twirled with his swords dancing elegantly and expertly through the air. Both Assassins moved as one, though in different styles to match their opponent. The youngest leapt over most attacks and dodged others before he himself dipped low and struck fast with his own weapon. The eldest matched the Templar blow for blow with the saber he held in his hand despite him being outmatched with two swords against one. But one of them would falter and the Assassins didn't intend on being the ones to falter.

Darcey gasped as the blade met with her armour, it didn't cut all the way through, but she felt a tiny knick, and all the force behind the blade. She growled angrily, and quickly changed her attack pattern. She aimed all over the Assassin's body, swatting, clawing, and scratching like an animal. Her movements had become completely unpredictable.

The younger Assassin allowed about two blows to land, one on his arm and the other on his shoulder before he danced out of the way and examined Darcey from a safer distance. The elder, however, was still locked in a deadly dance of swords with Bryan.

Darcey laughed when she managed to land some blows. When the Assassin backed away, Darcey came up with a plan. She made her attack pattern highly predictable, sticking to a set attack pattern. She was trying to get him exactly where she wanted him.

The eldest of the two Assassins looked up the second his brother got hit. At once, he growled and sliced downward with his sword, catching Bryan in the ribs before he sprang away to the aid of his brother. The swords came up as one and crossed in an X pattern. They looked at one another for a moment before a smile spread across their faces.

"BRYAN" Darcey cried out, she couldn't look to see if he was alright as she was now facing two Assassins. The worry in her eyes was as visible as the tears flooding her eyes. Darcey stuck close to the ground, looking up at the two Assassins. She wasn't going to let them get away, especially if they had hurt Waverly. "I'll kill you for that, savages!" Darcey slowly rose to her full height, glaring at the Assassins. She began to stab at the Assassins, aiming for the throat, chest, or stomach: it was clear that she wanted them dead. "You hurt my brother in arms, I hurt you. But you hurt him, and I'll kill you" Darcey roared as she attacked.

The twins had a plan for this. They'd anticipated her reaction and were countering with their own motives. When one of them dodged, the other would attack and it carried on like this as much as possible or at least until Bryan came back in. The twins then decided to disperse. They'd be back, though. Bryan watched the clearing for a moment before he dropped to a knee and planted a fist against his side. He had to get back to his ship.

Darcey watched as the twins disappeared before turning to face Bryan. She dropped to her knees, and placed a gentle hand on his back.
"Bryan, are you alright" Darcey asked softly. She was worried about him.

"I'm fine." Bryan said, sheathing his swords back into their place before he looked up at Darcey and then down at his side. "That sword just nicked my rib. I'll live. I just have to get back to the Demon Shark."

"Then let's get you back to your ship" Darcey said with a sigh. She was relieved that Bryan was alright, but also made as hell that the Assassins had gotten away. "I just hope we gave them something to think about." Darcey gave Bryan a light hug, and helped him to his feet before heading off to Bryan's ship.

After several excruciating minutes, Bryan settled on his bed with a sigh while one of his crew had come with a first aid kit.

Darcey just stood there, watching Bryan. She was so focused on defeating her enemy, she forgot about protecting Bryan. Darcey cursed herself quietly before taking a sip of rum.

"Quit your moping over there, Darcey. I'm fine. It's not serious." Bryan said with a shake of his head while his wound got treated. "At any rate, they'll be more cautious from now on. I think we should lie low for a bit."

"Sorry about that, Bryan" Darcey said as she sat down. She sat in thought for a while, trying to come up with a plan to deal with the Assassins. "I have some ties to the Portuguese Navy. Maybe we can use this to our advantage?"
