The Bloodstained Wolf

"Ferdiad, would you mind heading down to the brothel and asking where they got their latest shipment from?"
"Aye. On i' like white on rice" Ferdiad said before bolting off to the brothel.
Eberhard looked to Eden, and let out a sad sigh before making his way over to Marisol.
"Marisol, please come with me" Eberhard whispered quietly to her before heading over to the office.

Fia moved to stand beside Eden as she tried to calm herself down. Placing her hand on Edens shoulder she said nothing and simply stood there with her. Marisol nodded and hurriedly followed after Eberhard, wondering if there was something she could do to help.

"“Unfortunately, what happened with Günther is all too common on the islands. So, as a doctor of any kind, you need to know how to make certain remedies” Eberhard explained as he set to work. He lit a small burner, and set a bowl of water over the burner. "“Even as a midwife, you’ll need to know the natures of various herbs, plants, and even animals on occassion.” Eberhard set to work, grinding up various herbs, and carefully weighing them out before adding them to the bowl of water. Something didn’t feel quite right about what had happened to Günther. By all acounts, none of this should have happened. Despite his suspicions, he didn’t say anything. "“Even plants that would be deadly on any normal day could be useful at times such as this.”

I see..." She said as she watched what he was doing carefully. She wanted to learn all she could and she wanted to help Gunther. She would save her questions for later, for now she just watched what he was doing.

Fia rubbed Edens shoulder in an attempt to comfort her, hopping Ferdiad would return soon with the answer to Eberhards question.

"'AVANA. I' CAME FROM 'AVANA" Ferdiad called as he burst into the church, "Abbess says there a few men wha' died from i'. Two of her girls are in the same state."
Eberhard heard this, and immediately grabbed a Spanish book before flipping through it's pages. He immediately started adding different herbs to the bubbling bowl of water, and started mixing up different batches.

Fia continued to comfort Eden wanting her to know that she was there for her. Fia looked up at Ferdiad with a worried look before going back to comfort her friend.

Marisol continued to watch before looking up at Eberhard. "Is he going to be alright?" She asked before turning her attention back to what he was doing.

Ferdiad sat on the bed next to Günther, just watching the three as he held his hurley. He knew what was going on, and he was mildly nervous about what would happen.

Eberhard was focused on making multiple batches of medication. One batch for Günther, and the others for the brothel.
"He will be. Given that we don't know what poison was used in the batch, we can only treat the symptoms and hope for the best" Eberhard said with a sigh.

Fiadh sat down beside Ferdiad with a sigh. "It's goin' tea be alright Eden..." She said before patting her shoulder. She was worried as well, Gunther had become quite a good friend to her.

Marisol nodded before turning her attention back to what he was doing. "Why would someone put poison in the optimum?" She asked

Ferdiad sat there, quietly watching Eden and Günther, only breaking his focus when Fiadh sat beside him. He looked over to her, smiling sadly before turning to watch the two again.

Eberhard continued working on the medication, finally starting to filter it out into small vials.
"Who knows. They might be trying to dispose of someone, to control the trade, it was accidentally contaminated, or they may just be bored" Eberhard said with a sigh as he leaned against the wall, and started at the ceiling as he thought. He had a few ideas on why the opium was poisoned, but he would likely never know.

Fiadh returned the smile before leaning against him. She wanted to comfort her friend but she knew that at this moment the only thing that would help was if Gunther woke up. Eden sat there, she knew Fia was trying to make her feel better. Reaching out she picked up Gunthers hand and held it tight in her own.

I see..." She said frowning. "Is the medicine done? Can we give it to him?" She asked. It was clear she was worried aswell. "I hope Eden is doing alright... I don't think I would be able to take it if something happened to you..."

"It's done" Eberhard said with a smile as he corked two of the vials and set them in a tint box filled with straw. He grabbed the uncorked vial, and bolted over to Günther. The second he reached Günther's side, he pried open his mouth, and emptied the contents of the vial in his mouth. "Ferdiad, get these down to the brothel for the two girls. Make sure they drink it, and make sure that batch of opium is destroyed."
"Aye, will do" Ferdiad grabbed the box, and bolted off towards the brothel.

Eden stayed where she was, clutching Gunthers hand in her own as she watched him. She was so afraid that she could nearly move. Fiadh stayed with Eden, knowing that Ferdiad would be able to handle taking the medicine to the brothal. Eden just wanted Gunther to wake up, nothing else matter to her at that point.

Eberhard sat at Fiadh's side, quietly watching Günther for any signs of improvement. He found himself looking for his rosary only to remember he had given it to Marisol.
Günther's hand moved slightly, his fingers weakly curling around Eden's as he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. It seemed like he was going to be alright.

Marisol walked in and sat beside Eberhard, placing the rosary he had given her in his hands before putting her hands in his as well. She turned to watch Fiadh stay where she was simply ready to be there for Eden should the medicine not work. As soon as Eden felt Gunther weakly squeezing her hand new tears began to fall. She finally relaxed, relieved that he was showing signs of life. Fia also visibly relaxed.

Eberhard sat there deep in prayer, holding the rosary and Marisol's hand. Upon seeing Eden begin to cry, and Günther stirring slightly, Eberhard let out a sigh of relief.
"Gott sei Dank(Thank God)"Eberhard said as he gave Marisol's hand a gentle squeeze.
Günther gave Eden's hand a gentle squeeze, grateful that she was there for him.

Thank goodness..." She said through tears as she held his hand tightly. Eden had been so frightened that she was going to lose him that she had nearly even taken a breath. Bringing his hand up she kissed it before moving to sit on the side of his bed as she leaned over, resting her head on his shoulder. "I thought I lost you..." She said as she fought to calm herself.

Fia smiled relieved to see her friend was going to be alright. "I'll go let Ferdiad know." She said smiling as she placed her hand on Eberhards shoulder before leaving the church to head towards the brothal.

Marisol smiled and relaxed some as she saw Gunther was going to be alright. "Gracias a Dios...(Oh thank god...)"

Günther finally managed to open his eyes, and smiled warmly as he felt her soft lips on his hand.
"I'm not that easy... to get... rid of" he said softly as he looked up at her.

Eberhard smiled up at Fiadh, and watched her head off with a small warm smile. He was immensely thankful that they had made such wonderful and amazing friends in these strange new lands. It seemed as if the greatest blessing they had received was the wonderful women that they had grown to love.

Ferdiad sat at the brothel, holding the two prostitutes against him in a hug as they slowly recovered. A few of the other prostitutes were huddled around, quietly talking in hushed whispers, some even crying quietly.

Well, thank goodness for that... How are you feeling?" She asked smiling down at him. She was still worried but felt so relieved to see him awake and talking.

Marisol smiled, resting her head on Eberhard's shoulder. "We're so happy to have you back... We were all so worried." She said smiling

Fiadh smiled as she left the church before making her way to the brothel. Smiling as she saw Ferdiad she approached. "I see yer gettin' plenty o' thanks fer saving their lives." She said with a chuckle. "How are ye lasses feeling?" She asked as she approached.

"Like shit" Günther chuckled before coughing quite a bit. He looked up at her, smiling softly before holding Eden's hand to his chest. He looked over to Marisol and Eberhard, and chuckled softly. "I'm just glad I'll be able... to see the wedding. Warum beginnen unsere... Beziehungen mit Streit und Tränen.(Why do our relationships start with arguments and tears.)"

"Nah, I jus' wanted tae comfor' the lassies until they woke. They're no' as lucky as Günther" Ferdiad chuckled as he looked up to Fiadh, smiling softly. "They work harder 'an all of us, ye' they've nothin' tae show fer i'."
The two girls started to stir slightly, but they still seemed pretty out of it. One of the girls seemed like she was just a bit younger than Eden.

Eden smiled at him still holding his hand tightly. "Do you want any water or anything?" She asked smiling at him as she stayed beside him. She had no plans on leaving the church until Gunther was able to.

Oh yer such a kind man when ye wan' t' be." She said with a smile before walking up to the woman in charge. She spoke with her for a few moments before handing her a sack of coins and explained what they were for before walking back over to the women and Ferdiad. She waited until they were somewhat awake before giving them money as well, explaining what it was for and letting them know they can get rest and not to worry.

Günther shifted slightly so he could get comfortable, and rested his head against her. He did consider her offer of water, but all he wanted was her, to be be close to her.
"Just this" he said quietly as he wrapped an arm around her, and nuzzled against her softly. After all he'd been through, he really just wanted to be as close to her as possible. He looked up at her with soft blue eyes before looking away. "I... I'm sorry meine Blümelein. I did not mean to put you through that."

Eberhard watched this all with a smile, and gave Marisol's hand a gentle squeeze as he looked to her. Now that he really thought of it, that they were to be married... Perhaps she wouldn't mind staying in his cabin while they were at sea?
"Marisol, may I speak with you in private for a moment? Also, I believe I should show you what Herr Steinhauer managed to acquire for you."

"Oi, I'm always kind, 'specially tae the common folk" Ferdiad said with a laugh. While Fiadh was talking to the Abbess, Ferdiad looked down at the girls with a small smile. He was glad they had survived their brush with death.
Once they were awake, Ferdiad checked on the two girls. He wanted to make sure that they were alright after that had happened.

Eden smiled as she wrapped her arms around him. "You shouldn't apologize for something you can't control... I'm just so happy your alright.." She said smiling as she cuddled close to him. She couldn't have been more thankful to Eberhard and she couldn't be more happy.

Marisol smiled at the scene before looking up at Eberhard with a smile. "Of course." She said as she got up from where she was sitting. Smiling she offered Eberhard her good hand before walking with him to the office room.

Aye, they deserve it tha most." She said smiling as she herself made sure the girls were alright. She truly cared for the common people of the world. Most nobles didn't think much of them but without commoners the world would go to shit. All people were equal in her eyes.

"But... it wouldn't have happened if I..." Günther let out a sigh, and buried his face against Eden. He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath as he listened to Eden's heartbeat, took in her scent, and felt her warmth. "I really do love you" Günther said softly, his voice slightly muffled due to his face being buried against her.

Eberhard took Marisol's hand softly, and made his way to the office. He gestured to all the books piled up on the desk and smiled softly.
"These are all for you" he said with a smile. Eberhard made his way over to a chest, and opened it to reveal all the fabrics and clothes that they had gotten from Fiadh. "As well as these."

Ferdiad looked at Fiadh with a small warm smile, then to the two girls he was hugging. He sat in thought for a moment, thinking about their recovery. He knew the two girls wouldn't get any rest if they stayed at the brothel, and they would likely need some medical care.
"Why don' ye two lassies come up tae the church tae recover? It'll be peaceful an' quiet, an' ye won' have tae deal rowdy lads tha' can' take no fer an answer."

Eden wrapped her arm around him, afraid that if she let go of him she might loose him all over again. "I love you too... More than words can say." She said closing her eyes as she laid there with him. Her eyes closing as they held each other.

Marisol smiled and went to look through the books before seeing the chest full of clothing and fabric. "These are wonderful!" She said excitedly as she hugged Eberhard. Kneeling down she carefully began looking at what was in the trunk.

"Aye, I agree with Ferdiad here... Tha church is likely tha best place fer ye t' rest and recover." She said smiling at Ferdiad.

Günther lay there at Eden's side, snuggled up against her in his blanket as bare as the day he was born. He held her softly, grateful to have her at his side before he slowly fell asleep again.

"I'd hoped you would enjoy it" Eberhard chuckled as he watched Marisol dig through the chest to study it's contents. He thought for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to word his question to her without coming off as awkward. "I've been thinking, and well I wanted to ask. When we're at sea... would you like to..." Eberhard paused, blushing somewhat as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck before continuing. "Would you perhaps like to stay in my quarters with me? I mean... you don't deserve to stay in the hold anymore" Eberhard said nervously.

The girls thought about it for a moment before nodding in agreement. Though they were finally awake, they were still too weak to manage the walk to the church. Ferdiad stood up before carefully scooping each girl onto one of his shoulders so he could carry them to the church.
