Taming the Beast(Closed with AvaAssassin)

Xavier came back down in his gear, pulling his hood over his hair and making sure his mask was in place. He grinned over at the boy and motioned for them to come while he told his dog to keep watch on the place. Xavier grabbed his keys, locked the door and started his car. This was going to be the first time in a long time that he had any contact with another Assassin in a long time.

Rina got her son into the car and buckled him in before climbing into the front seat herself. Hunter was so excited he was bouncing in his seat as he waited for Xavier to get them to where they needed to be.

Xavier shook his head at the boy's excitement and simply drove them to their destination. They came to a stop in front of the building just as a bell rang.


"Right on time. School's just starting. Come on, Hunter. Let's go see if we can't get you into this place." Xavier stopped the car, turned it off and got out before he began to walk up the path and up the stairs to the building.

Rina and hunter followed as Rina looked at the school. It was nothing like the one she had gone to and was glad that Hunter might get into a place like this. Rina held her son's hand as they moved up the stairs and to the doors before following Xavier inside. "This place is huge..." Rina said as she looked down at her son who was looking at everything.

"It's all grades in one building." Xavier said dismissively, though his muscles were all tense. He was nervous. "Don't worry. It's pretty much a normal school." He chuckled and shook his head. "Come on. The master's office is this way."

Rina nodded and followed him through the massive building as she looked around. This was a very impressive school and Rina thought her son might have a bright future going to this school. She smiled as she saw the office they were heading for. Rina quickly smoothed out her son's hair and straightened out his clothes. "There we go. So handsome." She said with a smile as she held his hand.

Ronin opened the door and greeted the man at the desk, who didn't sound at all happy to see the Vengeful One. "What brings you to my office?"
"I have a friend with me who's son needs a safe school to go to." The man laughed and looked over at Rina.
"I hate to be the one to tell you this, but a school for the children of Assassins is anything but safe. At around grade seven or eight is when we begin their training as Assassins. Granted, only mentors can train an Assassin properly, so we cover the basics then they're pulled from school until they're about eighteen, which is when they come back and finish school."

"She just wants him to be safe. Templars took him from her. I suggested this place. It's fairly normal." The man snorted and looked at the boy for a moment before he grumbled.
"He'll have to pass an enrollment test. And you, Madam, are going to have to fill out a form telling us whether or not you want him to remain a civilian. If that's the case, then the school will operate as normal for him. We do this all the time."

Rina nodded before looking down at her smiling boy. "I wanna get bad guys like Xavier!" He said happily as he ran over and hugged Xavier's leg. Rina arched her brow but smiled. "I'll fill out anything you want. I just want him to have a proper education." She told the man in charge as she looked up at him. What kind of enrollment test is he going to be taking, though?"

"Just standard things." Said the man, handing over her paperwork to fill out. "And another thing. If you want him to have a proper education, I suggest taking the civilian route. He can always have a mentor after school. As long as he does his homework, that is."
"The enrollment that transfer students take will test their knowledge in the core subjects like math and english. It's a test that will determine in what grade the kid should be placed."
"And we place them according to that test."

Rina nodded as she took the papers and began filling everything out. She had memorized Xavier's numbers and set him as one of her sons emergency contacts. She did check civilian just as he said she should and once everything was filled out she handed the papers back. The entire time hunter held onto Xavier as he looked around.

The man took the papers and begun to look over them. Once he'd finished with that, he nodded toward the back of the office. "There are computers right there. He can take the test there. Xavier can bring it up for him." Xavier nodded and went to the computer and set it up so that the boy could take the test.
"Okay, bud. We just have to get you to take this test before you can get placed here. Go on. I'll be right here."

Hunter sat down and began reading each and every question before clicking an answer. Rina knew her boy was smart. At time she thought he was smarter than she was which made her so proud. Every once in awhile he would turn to make sure Xavier was still there before he would go back to answering the questions. "I'm done." He said as he hopped down from the computer and back over to Xavier.

The Master Assassin went immediately to his computer and clicked on the new thing that had popped up. Xavier had placed his hand on the child's head while the Assassin looked over the scores. His eyes went as round as full moons for a second before he cleared his throat. "How old is your son?" The man asked curiously, sounding rather....shocked.

He's five." She told him as she looked down at her son. "Why? Is there something wrong?" She asked with a look of worry on her face. Had her son made a low score or something... she had to wonder if maybe her son was slow or something.

"Five year olds are usually placed in second grade to third." The man said and turned the computer screen around. "Your son's scores are high enough to put him in fourth, which is a grade above what he technically should be in."
"Is this a good thing or a bad thing?"
"Depends on how you look at it." The man answered with a shrug. "It definitely means that, one day, he'll be able to skip a grade and graduate sooner."

Rina smiled. She was so proud of her baby boy. "I think it's wonderful news." She said as she kneeled down and kissed her son's forehead. "I'm so proud of you, my handsome little man." She said smiling.

"His first day of school will be next Monday." The man said, standing up to get something. He rummaged through what looked like a closet before he came back with a uniform that would fit the boy just fine. "Here's his uniform. It's expected to be kept clean and pressed and hung up. Don't worry yourself. As he grows, he'll receive bigger uniforms in exchange for the ones he's outgrown."

Smiling Rina nodded and accepted the uniform. Rina listened to everything the master had to say. "He will be here and ready first thing Monday morning," Rina said. "Is there a list of school supplies I need to get him or just the basics?" She asked as she looked up at the man in charge.

"It's just the basics for now. But once he gets to about seventh grade, start getting him additional things." The man in charge gave her a list of what was needed now and later. "Xavier will help you with whatever it is that you need."
"Alright. I think that about sums it up. Come on, little man. Let's get you home."

Can we get McDonalds?" He asked as he reached up to take Xavier's hand. "Maybe Xavier is driving so it's up to him." Rina said with a smile before turning. "Thank you so much for your help sir." Rina told the man in charge as she carried the little uniform in her hands before walking out with her son and friend.

Xavier led them back through the school and out the front door before he took a breath of fresh air. "Okay. What do you guys want?" Xavier asked. It sounded as though he was wanting to know what they wanted to eat.

"If you're talking about food he wants a kids meal and a small drink. I'll have two double meat cheeseburgers and a caramel frappuccino for me. I can pay for it so no worries." She said as she put her son in the car and buckled him in. Once her son was safely in the car she got in the front and buckled herself in.

Xavier got into the car, started it up and drove to the nearest fast food restaurant where he sat in the drive thru until it was his turn to order. Once he got to the mic, he ordered what he wanted alongside the other two orders he'd been given by Rina and the others. Once he had the total, he drove around to the window and paid for it, motioning for Rina to not worry about paying for it. He gave her her drink, handed the child's drink to him and placed his own drink in the cupholder. "Try not to make a mess." He said to both Rina and the child when they got their food.

We can wait till we get back to the house to eat. " She said mostly speaking to Hunter who made a pouty face at his mother. He didn't argue though probably because he was afraid his mother would take the tiny toy inside the happy meal box. "Thank you Xavier." She said with a smile as she closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat.

"Don't mention it." Xavier said as he drove immediately back to his house. Come to think about it, it wasn't that long of a drive from the restaurant back to his house. Once there, he parked, turned off the car and grabbed his drink before he got out of the vehicle and unlocked the house door with his food in hand.
