The Sands of Time

Ammon's staff did make contact with her chin, but thankfully not too hard, just hard enough for her to bite her tongue quite hard. Nour took a step back, and smiled at Ammon.
"That was good" she said with a laugh.

Ammon let out a soft chuckle of his own, twirling his staff around his body before it ended upside down in his hand at his side. He reached over to her with his free hand and gave her shoulder a pat, a gesture he himself was used to. "It was fun," he said, the smile still on his face. "I haven't had actual fun in...quite a while." He admitted softly, his smile still in place but his eyes told another story.

Nour raised an eyebrow at Ammon's expression before setting her staff aside as she gently rubbed her chin.
"You may say that, Ammon, but your eyes say something else. What happened, Ammon" she asked curiously as she tilted her head slightly.

Ammon quickly tried to regain his composure, his hands letting the staff he held slip down to the floor with a rather loud, echoing clatter. One of his hands ran straight to his hair, his fingers slipping through its length while he stammered with his words. However, even as he fumbled to speak and dismiss his earlier expressions, he knew that Nour would know. She always knew, though he tried to play it off. It was cute, seeing him fumble, and in the corner his Jackal seemed to laugh at it.

Nour wrapped her arms around Ammon in a tight warm hug. She gave the kind of hugs that instantly made you feel safe and loved, like you were coming home to your family. She looked at him with a small warm smile before resting her forehead against his.

Ammon immediately felt protected and seemed to melt into her embrace. His shoulders relaxed and he seemed as though he had let his guard down. To him, it felt nice to have that embrace. If Nour paid attention, she'd notice the small wet streaks lining his cheeks. Tears? Possibly, but of what only he knew.
