Cobra of the Sands Empty
PostSubject: Cobra of the Sands   Cobra of the Sands EmptyThu Oct 04, 2018 11:26 am

Name:
Ammon Rashidi

Age:
22

Affiliation:
Assassin

Appearance:
Cobra of the Sands Assassin_s_creed_egypt_by_tetamonja-d7qs2d0-header-890x513
Ammon stands at exactly 6' and weighs in at a mere 190 pounds, though most of it is pure muscle. His hair is as black as the night sky and his eyes are like shards of ice. His face is angular in shape and has a soft roughness to it, thanks to the sands of the deserts he travels through. In terms of facial hair, he's got a small soul patch just under his lip and it runs down onto his chin. Unlike his Assassin brothers, Ammon's robes contain elements of the ancient gods adorning every inch.

Personality:
Ammon keeps to himself mostly, preferring the company of his animals than the company of men. When he does come into contact with others, it's usually for a very brief time before he heads out on his own again. No one knows what he's truly like, though there have been many rumors that he's not human; that he could be a god in disguise. It's far from the truth. Ammon is closely linked with the god Anubis, which is why he is always seen in the company of a black jackal no matter where he goes.

Ammon is really kind once he begins to open up and show himself to others, which he rarely does for fear of hurting them in some way, though he's very loyal and protective of everyone, including the children.

Favorite Weapons:
Ammon's favorite weapons would have to be his scythe sword and his bow and arrow. On occasion he'll use his hidden blades during a mission, but other than that, his main weapon of choice is his sword.

Strengths:
Some call him the Snake Charmer because he's got this distinct knack for taming snakes of all breeds, though he mostly charms the venomous cobra. A silver tongue also works in his favor, gaining him the upper hand in most situations and it allows him to sweet talk anyone into ignoring what it is he does. His third strength is always kept hidden away from the rest of the world but, thanks to his Bloodline, Ammon is able to see the aura around a person. He can see whether someone's about to die, if they're sick or what their intentions are. It's a strength he guards with his life because some people use him as a weapon. Not only this, but he's a very good swordsman and marksman when the need arises.

Weaknesses:
Ammon has his weaknesses, much like anyone else, except his can be more exploited than he cares to admit. Out of the three animals he owns, Sanai, his Egyptian Cobra, is his most precious. Anything happened to her, Ammon would be emotionally crushed enough to render useless in battle. Physically, Ammon is rather healthy and strong, or so he'd have you believe. Between his shoulder blades, hidden from sight, is the marking of a jackal with its jaws clenched around the neck of a cobra. In his family, that's always the marking of someone who has been cursed by Anubis himself. It's a painful reminder of what he'd done and, to make certain he was reminded, anytime someone hits that cursed mark of his, he'd cry in pain. He's scarred mentally by his childhood. Something he doesn't like sharing with the rest of the world so he tends to keep it to himself, which is a contributing factor in why he's so silent half the time.

Not only this, but he had a broken collar bone as well as a few cracked ribs in his youth. Wounds he cautiously guards in battle. The last weakness he keeps hidden is one that no one can see: his mind. Ammon is known for having a keen eye for certain things, like gods in disguise. But this comes at a great cost. He never sleeps during the night, for it is under the moon that his curse takes hold the most. It disrupts his sleep and gives him nightmarish visions of the future, of things that he can easily prevent if he was quick enough. Instead, he sleeps mostly during the day or underneath the heat of the desert sun. It is his only time for peace.

Background/Biography:
Laughter filled the air as children raced around, playing tag and chasing the village dog around with their parents watching close by. Ammon never had that. He couldn't have that. After all, he was the son of one of the Medjay and his father kept him close at hand. Or rather the Pharaoh kept him close at hand. The only things to keep him entertained was watching his father train the Medjay and watching the snake charmer coming to the palace. But even that wasn't enough to settle his curious mind.

Ammon spent most of his days wandering the palace and exploring every nook and cranny of the place until the day he was summoned alongside his father. "Aten," said the Pharaoh from where he sat. "You know why I summon you?"
"You need me to go on a mission, don't you my Pharaoh?" At his father's question, the Pharaoh gave a nod and beckoned Ammon to his side, which the boy obeyed.
"You leave tomorrow at dawn," Ammon felt a hand get placed on his head, but didn't flinch away. He knew better than to deny his Pharaoh. "All I can say is may the gods find favor with you so that you may return to us safely."

"Do you really have to go?" Ammon asked that very next day, watching as his father packed up to leave.
"Yes, Ammon," Aten said, taking what he had packed outside to his horse with his son tailing right behind. "One thing that I have taught you all these years: never disobey your Pharaoh. It does you no good and will leave you out in the streets or worse, ready to be executed." Silence fell over them both before his father turned towards him and ruffled his hair. "Stay safe, my son. And behave yourself while I'm gone."
"Yes, papa," Ammon remained silent as he watched his father leave the palace grounds, no doubt headed back to their home of Siwa, where he had been born.

The instant his father was out of view, one of the Medjay who had remained behind touched his shoulder and informed him that the Pharaoh had asked for his presence. He felt uneasy about being in the Pharoah's presence alone without his father, but he wouldn't deny the word of his ruler, so he went to see what the Pharaoh wanted. What he found out would scar him for the rest of his life.

Being alone with a Pharaoh who hadn't married yet was all the more intimidating. Ammon was touched and played with until his father's return that following week. He couldn't feel any less than human than he did at that moment. Tears were in his eyes as his father rode up and the second that Aten dismounted, Ammon ran into his father's arms and cried, but didn't dare tell his father what the Pharaoh had done. Instead, Ammon grew up with this hatred and denied the Pharaoh an audience whenever he was summoned with his father.

At sixteen, Ammon bought his own Arabian and set off across the desert sands, carrying himself away from the palace. He didn't know where he would go, so long as it was far away from the Pharaoh.

He wandered for days and water seemed like a distant memory until he came upon Lake Mareotis. It was here that he met his jackal, Juni. Here, he rested and lingered for too long, for soon he gained the attention of the wrong kind of people. They were people who wished to see his father, and those that his father worked with, dead. They wanted to see Ammon dead. He stayed at the lake for a few more days until he, Juni and Saba, his horse, were ready to leave. By that time, it was too late.

He was discovered by the bad men and was dragged back to their encampment somewhere on the lakeshore. There, he was questioned about things that he didn't even know about. The questions never stopped coming. For weeks, months, they questioned him. Ammon might of pissed them off for they began to beat him, even after he was telling them the truth: he knew nothing.

That's when everything began to go dark. He was losing himself and he knew it. He could see himself in the field of wheat now and there was his mother, standing before him as she used to do before she was taken away from him. She simply smiled before her image was replaced with that of a giant jackal. Anubis. Ammon felt his legs grow weak at the sight of the god of the underworld. This was it, he thought. He was going to die and no one cared. But no. He felt a clawed hand rest upon his head and soon found himself staring into the eyes of Anubis. "You are not done yet, Ammon," Anubis said, his voice deep and full of mystery.

"I send you back to the mortal plane, but not without a gift. I choose you to be my champion." Ammon felt claws dig into his back right between his shoulder blades and it felt like fire was crawling on his skin. It hurt so bad that he screamed in pain. The scream echoed in his head until he was waking up to the sound of steel slicing through flesh and the stench of blood.
"Over here!" The voice wasn't familiar to him at all and it made him wary. Soon enough, there was a man wearing a white hood and adorned by a golden bracelet around his bicep. Around his belt was a strange symbol that Ammon had only ever seen on his father's gear: the eye of Horus. "Come with us. We'll see you to safety."

Ammon didn't say anything and instead obeyed, following this man on Saba with Juni right beside him. Where were they taking him? It didn't matter, so long as he was away from those men. It didn't take long for them to get to their destination in Memphis. Here, Ammon examined his surroundings and took in the sights. It was here he met Sanai.

Ammon had been exploring the area when he heard a hissing noise coming from the bushes nearby. A child was on the ground, though he didn't see the child until after he'd seen the cobra. "Stay calm," his words were directed at the child, though his eyes never left the snake. "And stay still." Slowly, he approached the cobra and stared her in the eye. They hissed at one another for a time before she tucked her hood away and slithered right up his arm. He became a hero in the eyes of the people of Memphis, though he didn't do anything except charm a snake.

It didn't take long for the men in the strange white robes to notice him and asked him if he wanted to do more for Egypt. "More than anything," was his answer. They took him to their den and trained him hard every day until he and his creatures were ready to leave and leave they did.

From sixteen until now, Ammon has wandered Egypt, helping where he can and taking contracts as they came to him. He's gotten called many names. Death Dealer, the Hand of Anubis and Cobra of the Sands. All of them fit him to the letter. He just hopes he can find out why it is the Templars had hunted him and why they had asked him all those questions. Questions he still didn't have an answer for. But the biggest question of all: why did Sanai's aura feel different from other cobras? And why had she chosen him to be her handler?
