Bryan carefully took the food dish and fork. He twisted the fork for a moment before he dove for the food and began to eat. After the first bite, he fell in love and began to eat a little quicker.

Darcy smiled happily when she saw how much Bryan loved the meal, and turned her attention to her own food. She loved every mouthful, the beef was perfectly tender to the point that it practically melted in ones mouth. The dish was so delicious, she ate almost as fast as Bryan did.
"Ye think Torres would import some things for me if I prepared this for him" Darcy asked jokingly.

Bryan gave a soft chuckle as he placed the plate and fork back on the counter top. "Maybe," he said, both joking and non-joking. "You never know with that man these days."

"True, but he's made more than a few enemies so his days are numbered, especially with the Assassins out and about in full force." Darcy didn't know about the presence of the young female Assassin at her execution, nor the presence of others, but it was clear she didn't regard them as a personal threat.

Bryan nodded in agreement with her words and leaned against the door frame. It was a habit of his and it was very hard for him to try and break it. "Well," he said slowly, tilting his head to the side. "We haven't ported in a while. Where do you think we should go? Back to Havana?"

Darcy thought about it for a moment, thinking about where they should sail to.
"Havana it is, I need to speak with Torres, and he needs to see I'm alive to hold up his end of the bargain" Darcy said with a sigh.

Bryan gave a nod in her direction and began to make his way back on deck. "I need to make my report as well," he said. He soon stopped dead in his tracks and grimaced. "Ooh...I just remembered...I technically haven't completed my mission yet...I was supposed to confiscate an artifact from the Assassins..."

Darcy followed Bryan closely to the deck, a small smile on her face.
"Perhaps I can help with that, I'm known to be quite persuasive" Darcy chuckled. "Who knows, Torres might even pair us up as a team or something?"

"I hope so," Bryan said, taking the helm of the ship once he'd reached the wheel. He took a deep breath and exhaled in an attempt to calm himself down. "Okay. Let's go."

Once they set sail, Darcy climbed up the mast and spent the voyage amongst the sails, fixing any tiny holes she found in the fabric. After that was all done, she perched herself in the crows nest, and just watched the waves as well as the gulls that circled overhead.

PostSubject: Re: Rise of the Shark((Void)   Rise of the Shark((Void) - Page 33 EmptySat Sep 14, 2019 10:37 am

Bryan simply smiled when he saw her climb up to the crow's nest after her maintenance run. He was glad that she was alright after their ordeal the day previous. He took a deep breath and kept his eyes on the horizon. A strong wind blew in from the direction they were headed in. It felt good, he wasn't going to lie. But there was something else to this wind that he didn't like.
Bryan looked up to the crow's nest to where Darcy was sitting. "Darcy," he called out, "What can you see up there? I can feel a strong wind."

At the pub, Katherine was inexplicably drawn in by the voice of the young singer with ginger hair. She had seen the girl once before, perhaps with Jack back when she needed to be trained?

PostSubject: Re: Rise of the Shark((Void)   Rise of the Shark((Void) - Page 33 EmptyTue Sep 17, 2019 2:54 pm

Darcy looked up at the sky, noticing some intimidating clouds. She did some quick calculations, trying to figure out the weather.
"Winds coming in from the North East, gaining steadily. Think we should find a port or weather it out" she shouted down to Bryan.

(I'm so sorry >_<)

PostSubject: Re: Rise of the Shark((Void)   Rise of the Shark((Void) - Page 33 EmptyThu Sep 19, 2019 8:30 am

(lol you're alright ^_^)

Bryan thought for a moment. Weathering it out would mean that all hands would need to be on deck. Not only that but they would most likely break through the storm and make it to Havana rather quickly. However, porting would ensure the safety of his crew, his own life and the hull integrity of his ship. A frown quickly creased his brow as the winds picked up slightly before dropping back to the intimidating speed they had first blown in with.
He had to make a decision quickly, though. Those clouds wouldn't stay away for long, not on the sea and he knew that. With quick actions, Bryan stomped his foot on the deck as hard as he could without damaging the ship and shouted loud enough for his crew to hear him. "All hands on deck, lads! We've a storm to battle!"

Darcy quickly made her way down from the crow's nest so she wouldn't get blown about by the strong winds like a scarf in the wind. She made her way to Bryan's side as she stuffed her hat in a pocket in her coat, not wanting it to blow away in the strong winds that the storm would bring with it. She was rather fond of her hat, and she viewed it as a mark that she had survived in this world.
"What are your orders, captain" she asked seriously.

Bryan's gaze traveled from her around to all the crew as they surfaced from down below. If there was one thing he knew about these men was that they would do anything for their ship and for each other. He gave a brisk nod before issuing his command. "A storm is approaching fast," he stated, never once letting his voice waver or falter. "We need to secure the Shark before she can brave this storm. I want the most nimble of us to secure the main sail to the mast. We'll ride this storm out, boys. We've done it before and I don't see why we can't do it again!" A cry of happy cheers floated from all sides as the men began to scramble to their stations, each man preparing for the oncoming storm.

Darcey nodded respectfully to Bryan before tying her hair up in a bun, and racing up the mast, helping Bryan's men to secure the sails. She was unsurprisingly rather quick and nimble given her petite build. Wherever she saw the men in need of a small person, Darcey was there to help, even if she was exhausted or soaked like a rat, she was going to help. Eventually, she started coughing rather badly from her injuries from the attempted execution, but she was still putting her all into her work.

Bryan kept ahold of the helm, barking orders from time to time to the men below. He did notice how Darcy seemed to be coughing and worry took over his heart but he didn't let it stop him from securing the helm of the ship.
He raised his eyes to the horizon just as the rain began to fall and the waves began to get rough, splashing up the sides of the ship and onto the deck.

Once she had done all she could to help Bryan's men prepare the ship, Darcy finally headed into Bryan's quarters to recover. She poured herself a glass of water to try calm her relentless coughing which seemed to help quite a bit. She made her way back onto the deck and returned to Bryan's side, awaiting any further orders.

PostSubject: Re: Rise of the Shark((Void)   Rise of the Shark((Void) - Page 33 EmptyThu Oct 03, 2019 12:05 pm

Bryan seemed to be fighting the helm for a moment, twisting the wheel every so often to keep the ship straight in these now rough waters. In his eyes held a slight bit of fear, though of what no one except his crew knew. Bryan was the superstitious type and believed that the ocean had its own voice, not to mention the goddess of the sea herself.
All pirates believed in her as well as in Davy Jones and Bryan seemed to be praying to something for safe passage. But he couldn't shake the feeling that something was angry. Another strong wave washed up onto the deck and had the men scrambling to keep everything secure.
At this moment, he turned to Darcey and nodded towards his quarter master, who was running about to try and keep the men calm while keeping them on their jobs, which varied at this moment.

Assuming Bryan's nod meant he wanted Darcey to help the quartermaster, she raced off to try help in any way she possibly could. As she she looked around at the men, she knew their spirits could use some lifting, so she decided to lead them in a shanty, or at least sing for them.

Each man heard the song, but none dared break their concentration over their jobs to join in, so they simply listened to her. Bryan himself thought she had a beautiful voice and a tiny smile cracked his otherwise straight face. Her singing was helping to ease the fear that hung tight in the air around the men. Good, Bryan thought. Perhaps this would help them escape the storm's grasp. He retightened his grip on the helm and did his damnedest to keep the ship straight through the rough waters, all the while letting Darcey's song wash over his soul.

Darcy would try to help in any way that she could, even though her body was screaming to stop, to not push herself too hard. She clung tightly to a rope hanging from the yard arm, trying to help the men bring it back in. It was physically draining, and the rope tore at the flesh on her hands, but she held on; she wouldn't stop until the ship and everyone were safe.

PostSubject: Re: Rise of the Shark((Void)   Rise of the Shark((Void) - Page 33 EmptyTue Feb 07, 2023 12:32 pm

Bryan threw his weight into the helm of the ship, his knuckles turning white as he held fast to the wheel. The wind had been relentless, whipping through his clothes and tearing at his now water-logged hair. The deck beneath his feet was dark with water and the deck below the helm had a thin layer of water coating it's surface.

He kept his eyes forward, squinting his eyes against the driving rain. He kept praying to the goddess of the sea for safe passage, the fear that had been in his chest rising again until it reached the base of his throat. Just ahead of them, Bryan could see the water rising as wave after wave sloshed against the Shark's sides and rolled across her deck.

As it approached the ship, the single wave grew in size and the fear in Bryan's chest turned to ice. He threw his body over the wheel as far as he could and shouted down to the men below, his voice straining to be heard above the storm. "Brace yourselves, lads! Rogue wave!" After he had yelled the warning, he ducked himself beneath the wheel, his knuckles hurting as he clung to it while the men scrambled to secure themselves to the ship.
