Training (The Ghost and his Shadow)(Closed)

Alyssa swallowed when she was pinned against the mast. Her heart felt ready to explode at his words. However, she remained composed and turned to look at him. She calmly studied his movements. He's perfectly balanced, so he'll be equally prepared to defend against attack. She thought, fixing her stance and flexing her fists. Okay. Start off with a fake to the right and go for the left. If he blocks, spin around back and take out his leg. Hit that just right and he'll go down. Then end with a kick to his back to send him forward. With a deep breath, she executed her plan. Alyssa faked right and then attacked from the left, anticipating him to block.

David betrayed no emotion as she looked to be considering her moves. That was good, yet he knew she had little to know him by, so he chose his movements to be the opposite of what she would expect. She she faked, he ignored it, yet when she punched he did not ignore it... he let it connect. He knew her plan would anticipate him to block it, as he usually blocked her attacks, so he knew she would have no counter plan to that. He let the momentum of the punch send him turning so he was facing the mast. He then went into action, running and kicking off the mast, twisting in mid air, and sending a hard punch right at her jaw, either sending her to the ground or knocking her out. He landing in a crouch position, then stood up straight

"And this is why we learn everything we can on our target, so we can make plans, counter plans, and counter plans to the counter plans. If we can anticipate every move made by our enemy, they can never get the better of us."

Alyssa rubbed her jaw where he'd punched her. It was sore, that was Damn sure. And she was also surprised at his moves. Then she grinned. "So what you're saying is: be unpredictable!" She swept a leg out toward his when she supported herself on the deck with her hands.

David had a split second to anticipate her moves, but that was not enough to make a plan. He however was able to angle himself so he was able to back roll once on the ground and was back up standing "What I am saying is learn your target, and never betray your plan with emotion. But essentially, yes that is kind of what I am saying" He stated, getting back into a ready position for her next attack

Alyssa had been trying to learn David all day. Now that the port had been in view and the sun beginning to go down, she actually understood. She studied David for a moment and made a mental plan. Before she struck, however, she continued to watch him and made another should the first fail. Then she added a third plan to the mix, just in case. It was after she'd made her plans that she rushed him, feinting to the right before mocking a blow to the left and then going straight down the middle.

David smirked as she finally rushed him. Given how she had spent so long making plans, he had a feeling she would finally be somewhat of a challenge. He chain blocked every attack she made, smacking her hands away, stepping back under the ferocity of her onslaught.

Alyssa switched gears and acted out her counter plan. She spun toward him and pulled her elbow back sharply and prepared her feet, placing one between his before she spun on that foot, twisting her other leg to wrap around his and then brought her free hand to jab into his side.

David was actually taken by surprise when she did this. All her attacks hit him, and he retorted with a quick jab at her side before she could continue her counter counter plan.

Alyssa seemed to anticipate her Mentor's actions and slapped a hand down Quickly, yanking the leg she'd captured outward to destabilize him and she also moved out of range, her eyes never watching him.

When David hit the ground, he got right back up onto his feet Ninja style, launching off his hands back onto his feet. He then nodded "Good good, you are making progress" He stated, keeping her eyes on him, watching every muscle in her body in case she decided to attack again.

"Learnt from the best," Alyssa said with a grin toward David. She tensed her muscles, in case he decided to charge at her. "What's next, Mentor?"
"Captain," called a crew member. "We've arrived at Havana. Shall we dock?"

"Whats next, is we dock in Havana. Then we continue below deck." He said, giving the crewman a nod, taking the wheel and bringing them into port. When he was done, he picked up his robes and told Alyssa"From now on we train below deck. I do not want unfriendly eyes seeing what I teach you." He then put his robes back on and told her "Get some rest, I have some business to attend to, but we shall continue later." He then left the Normandy to scout out their target

Alyssa smiled after her mentor and then left the deck to her bed in the quarters below. She laid on her bed and then closed her eyes to sleep.

It had been a week since they had arrived in Havana, and David was confident that Alyssa knew as much as she needed in hand to hand combat. He had also gathered a lot of information on Her first target. Enough that he would have acted, yet he was going to make her gather the same information, and use his own to determine if she should strike or not.

He had woken up and proceeded down below deck and prepared himself to teach her how to battle against people with weapons when you had none.

Alyssa had set aside her bowl, as she'd just finished eating when she saw her mentor. Alyssa stood to her feet and bowed her head. "Welcome back, Mentor,"

David bowed his head and said "Good Morning Alyssa. As you have done well against me without weapons.. I will be throwing weapons into the mix. When you are taken prizoner, odds are your guards will have weapons while you do not, so you need to learn how to disarm or even use their own weapons to your own advantage." he then de-weaponized himself and stood before her, saying "I will give you a quick example, take our your sword and attack me"

Alyssa obeyed and drew her short sword before she rushed him quickly. She raised her hand with the sword and brought it down.

David quickly dodged her sword, then decided to teach her a lesson within the lesson. he closed the distance between them and crushed his lips against hers.. using one of her weakness's against her....him. his hands went to her waist, purposely ignoring her sword.

Alyssa squealed in utter shock. Her body seemed to melt, as it wouldn't listen to her. Inside her chest, her heart was pounding. She had not been expecting this at all. Tensed muscles relaxed and her eyes closed, her sword hand relaxing on the hilt as she returned the unexpected kiss.

David hands traveled around her waist until they found one of her daggers, he then gently slipped it out of her belt, making sure she felt nothing. His hand then traveled up her body, on the pretense of feeling her up, then he turned the dagger around so its point was point at her and pressed it against her bare part of her chest so she could feel the cold of his blade "Dead" He murmured against her lips, pulling away slowly. He sucked on his lips a moment before continuing "Using someones weakness is the easiest way to get a weapon if they are alone." He then tossed her dagger back at her. "One more time, this time I promise to show you a different tactic."

Alyssa felt like her heart would explode when his hands had slid along her body. When she felt the cold of her dagger, she had been a little scared and mostly impressed. She licked her lips as though they were dry even though that wasn't the case. When he tossed her dagger to her, she caught and put it in its holster. "I...understand, Mentor," she said softly, her heart still pounding.

David nodded and then stated "Come at me again then." He didn't know what he was feeling at the moment. Attraction, regret... lust for more. He was not sure. He however WAS sure he had a duty as her mentor to teach her everything she needed. After that he could consider what to do about her.

Alyssa tightened her hand on her sword and studied him before she rushed him again. Her sword was aimed sideways, like she was ready to hack into his body, though her pounding heart wasn't helping.

David waited for her to make her move, wondering what was taking her so long. he almost attacked her himself, yet he allowed her a chance at him.

With a deep breath, she swung her sword at him. Alyssa's heart was still pounding hard in her chest. She waited for him to counter her blow, as he had before.
