A Ninja's Reveng(closed)

Ronin shook his head before he looked to Sentinel. He didn't know if he should tell Fiona of his actual true language or not, so instead he simply began to continue to eat.

Fiona had been able to hear him speaking his native tongue so she spoke her father's native tongue. "Bhuel claire raibh rud ar bith a intresting a tharlóidh ? (Well claire did anything intresting happen?)" She asked claire with a smile as she glanced at Ronin.

Claire smiled "Ronin ag múineadh a speek mar a dhéanann na daoine nuair a thagann sé as . (Ronin has been teaching to speek like the people do where he comes from.)" Claire replied with a giggle.

Ronin looked up for a moment before he kept his eyes on his half eaten rabbit. He wasn't sure why Claire'd spoken up but then again he couldn't exactly tell her how to keep secrets yet. Not yet.

Fiona chuckled as she looked over at him. "No need to keep secrets from me. Do you really think I would turn you in for speaking your own language?" She teased before winking at him and continuing to eat her own rabbit.

Ronin's heart skipped a beat before he looked over at her, the fire making his eyes glow like ice. He took a deep breath and finished his rabbit before he rose to his feet to survey the area. There was no way he would risk getting caught in the dark like this. He blinked once and his eyes adjusted immediately. His muscles tensed the second he caught movement beyond their camp and slowly, he began to get into a stance, a hand wrapping around the hilt of his father's katana.

Frowning Fiona stood and looked around herself before glancing at him. "Should we find a more covered camping spot?" She asked in a hushed voice as she rested her hand on the hilt of her father's broad sword.

Ronin shushed her with a look and looked to Claire before he stepped over and in front of the girl. "Sentinel." He hissed under his breath. The stallion flicked an ear and approached his master quietly, listening as Ronin barely breathed out a command: get the girl and keep her safe. Sentinel bobbed his head in acknowledgement before he went to Claire and rubbed his face against hers as though to say 'climb on.' Then he dropped to his knees and waited for the girl to climb aboard.

Claire frowned and climbed onto the horses back. Ava's hand was not wrapped around the broadsword that rested on her belt. She wasn't sure what was out there but she agreed that Claire needed to be kept safe. Silently she waited for whatever was out there to show itself.

Ronin didn't let it. Instead, he instantly fled into the trees. The bushes trembled for a moment before he returned with some red liquid dripping from his Katana's blade. He looked at the horses and issued an order to the both of them before he grabbed his gear, helped Claire down for a moment before he hastily got his stallion ready to ride. Only then did he swing up and pull Claire up with him. They had to leave. Now. Where there was one Red Cross, there was bound to be more.

As soon as Fiona saw the blood she saddled her own horse and gathered her things before putting the fire out. She them swung up onto her horse before riding over. "Lead on." She told him as she glanced behind them once more.

Ronin spurred Sentinel into action and immediately the black stallion bolted off, leaving the glade behind as quickly as possible. Ronin had to get them all out of there and somewhere safe before they could stop again.

Ava followed close behind. Her father's old war horse was fast but not quite as fast as Sentinel. She was silent the entire time they rode, glancing behind them every once in awhile.

The night was slowly beginning to melt into dawn by the time they reached the next town. Ronin immediately took them to the bureau and hid his horse around back. He wasn't going to risk the Templars knowing where they were and so he told Sentinel to be quiet.

Fiona did the same putting her horse next to Ronin's she headed inside. Claire looked around a bit of fear in her eyes as they went inside.

Inside, they were greeted by the Master of the Bureau. Ronin proceeded to tell him exactly what had happened and why they were there so early. The man nodded and looked at the child before he smiled. "Don't worry. You're safe here. Them Red Cross bearers wouldn't dare attack a bureau filled with trained Assassins."

Claire nodded but clung to Ronin for the time being. She didn't like what had just happened. "Why don't you take claire up to an empty room and let her sleep," Fiona suggested to Ronin with a soft smile.

Ronin gave a nod and smiled before he led Claire to an empty room and fluffed the pillows. "This will be your room for as long as we're here. Go on and get some sleep, okay?" He said, ruffling her hair playfully before he went back downstairs and sat down.

Claire nodded and curled up to sleep. She slipped into sleep when her head hit the pillow. She had been tired the entire time.

Ava sat downstairs drinking some tea in front of the fire. She was tired herself but wouldn't sleep just yet.

Ronin quietly discussed things with the bureau's leader, every once in a while looking over at Fiona. They were discussing her and making her a true Assassin. Ronin nodded and smiled. It was what was right. This way, he could focus on Claire's training.

Fiona eventually fell asleep where she had been sitting. The empty cup in her lap as she sat by the fire. She had just been so tired and wasn't able to fight sleep any longer.

Ronin smiled and nodded. The ceremony would be at first light. Ronin himself soon dozed off.

That morning, Ronin was among the first to wake up. He'd prepared her new outfit and set it aside for the day while everyone else prepared. Then, when it was all set up, Ronin went to Fiona and gently shook her awake.

Fiona opened her eyes and smiled at Ronin. "What's going on? Is Claire ok?" She asked as she sat up. She wasn't sure if they were leaving or what but she would soon find out.

"Claire's fine." Ronin said with a smile. "But you should get ready. You wouldn't want to miss your own ceremony, would you?"

Ceremony..?" She asked confused at first but then it hit her. She jumped up but tripped over herself in her own excitement and fell off the sofa she had been sleeping on.

Ronin gave a laugh and shook his head. "Get ready. We'll be waiting out back for you." With that, Ronin headed outside to stand in front and present his former apprentice with her own robes.
