Assassin of the Black Flag(open) - Page 7 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) - Page 7 EmptySat Dec 27, 2014 1:08 pm

[OOC: has anyone else noticed that the sleep dart cancels out the berserk dart? It might just be a glitch in my game unless it's an actual thing?]

"If a sleep dart negates the effects of a berserk dart, maybe it will work the other way around. I just pray I won't turn on my brothers" Elizabeth thought as she weakly scrounged around in her pocket for a dart, she pricked her finger on a berserk dart. Elizabeth slowly rose to her feet, as her strength returned, he mind faded. She fought for her sanity as long as possible, it was just enough time for her to cut Samuel down and say three words, "Berserk dart. Run!" After that, Elizabeth was lost to the poison of the berserk dart. She pulled at her hair and shouted as the worst of the poison conquered her, a warning to the others. "Leave" she growled, her voice strained, "Now!"

(It could be an actual thing)

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

As soon as he was cut loose, he landed in the dirt on his hands and knees, coughing. As soon as he heard that she had pricked herself on a berserk dart, he shook his head. "I won't allow it," He stated hoarsely, taking the cut rope from around his neck. He sat up on his knees and pulled out a single sleep dart and a tube. Sam swallowed hard as he placed it into the tube and aimed for Elizabeth. He took a deep breath before he blew quickly into the dart tube. Only when it went flying at her did he put it away and begin to rub at his neck, where the rope had hugged him tight. Sharkheart had jumped from the gallows and went straight for Sam, grabbing an arm. "We need to get out of here,"
"Not without Liz," Sam answered, his voice still hoarse. Bryan looked up at Liz, knowing exactly what Sam meant, despite his still bleeding wound.

"Thank God" Elizabeth groaned as she fell to the ground, relieved that she had not killed her companions.
"Come on, love, let's get you and the others to safety" Ben said as he picked Elizabeth up and raced to Samuel's side, Burges and Cockram in tow. "We can hide out on my ship until things die down. If we split up, and use the crowds to our advantage, we may lose them."
"Where do you think you are going, traitors? Stay and reveal yourselves!"
"I can take care of her, you two go with Snakefang and Sharkheart. Look after them. Let's move!"

He and Sharkheart both began to run out of the courtyard as fast as they could. Bryan had a hand fixed on his shoulder to try and stop the bleeding. Within what felt like ages, Sam and Bryan had made it out and into the crowded streets. "I don't know what I'm doing!"
"Follow my lead!" Sam stepped between two people on the road and Sharkheart followed suit, still clutching his wound, which seemed to be growing worse. Dots began to swim in front of his eyes and then he tripped and was sent sprawling in the dust. Samuel stopped, worried. "Sharkheart!" he called softly.

"Go, find Sam and Bryan. They might need your help" Elizabeth said as she sat in the great leather chair, "And be quick. Bryan is badly wounded."
"And what will you be doing?"
"Preparing. Now go!" Ben nodded and ran out the door. Elizabeth drank a vial of Fire-water, "Right, let's get started" Elizabeth said as she stood up and rolled her neck causing it to click before she set about clearing the desk and gathering her supplies.

"Where are you" Ben mumbled as he scanned the crowds. While the rest of the Templars were just blindly running through the square, he had managed to find a vantage point from which to observe the crowd. He calmly scanned the crowd for any trace Samuel or Bryan, "And there you are" he chuckled when he saw them in the crowd. He climbed down from his vantage point and calmly walked over to the Assassin and his gravely wounded friend. "Jaysus, you're in rough shape. Let's get a move on. Elizabeth should have everything set up by now."

Samuel managed to help Bryan up and nodded to Benjamin. "Lead on," Sam said with a nod. "We'll follow." Bryan felt weak and leaned heavily onto Samuel, eyes closed. The wound wasn't getting any better and the bullet was still lodged into it. "The bullet," he managed to say. "It's stuck....."
"Elizabeth will patch you up. Save your strength."

"Keep them distracted" Ben said as he handed a bag of coin to a group of dancers. "You can always count on a man's desires when you're in a pinch." Ben led them through the winding streets of Havana, constantly bribing dancers to distract their pursuers.

"We're here" Ben said as they arrived at the docks, "Come on." Elizabeth stood on the deck of the Benjamin, pacing as she waited for her friends.
"Get him inside" Elizabeth said as she escorted the men to the captain's quarters.

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

Sam was literally half dragging half carrying the newest Templar deserter. He allowed himself to be escorted into the captain's quarters and gently laid Bryan on the bed. With his hidden blade, Samuel cut the fabric of Bryan's white shirt, now stained red with blood. As soon as he removed the fabric, he winced openly at the wound. It was way worse than he had thought it had been. A piece of metal shimmered in the dim lighting. "Liz, the bullet's lodged into his shoulder," he said softly, backing away with the shirt in hand.

PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) - Page 7 EmptySun Dec 28, 2014 10:45 am

Elizabeth gently wiped away the blood surrounding Waverley's wound with a moist cloth, "Well none of your vitals were hit. You'd be dead by now if that were the case." Elizabeth grabbed some forceps from her kit and slowly removed the bullet from from Waverley's shoulder, and tossed it into a small jar. "He's losing too much blood, I'm going to need to cauterise it. Ben, grab that dagger and heat it for me."
"Aye, love."
"I'm sorry to do this to you, Bryan, but the bleeding is simply too severe. If I don't do it, you'll die" Elizabeth said softly as she took the burning dagger from Ben and pressed it to Waverley's wound. "Grab the snake!"
"The snake?"
"Aye! The bloody snake!" Hornigold opened the large chest in the corner of the room and reached in with a large pair of tongs, pulling a very angry snake from its depths. Elizabeth carefully took the snake by the head and held it to the flesh near Waverley's wound and let it bite him. She put the snake back in the chest and returned to Waverley's side. "It won't kill you, but the venom will slow your heart-rate and lower your blood pressure. I normally don't use the snake but the herbs would take too long to work" Elizabeth said as she ground some herbs into a paste and wrapped them in some cloth.
"What should we do about his ship?"
"Send someone to take her to Inagua."
"I'll do it" Cockram said as he left the room and headed for Waverley's ship.
"We should probably set sail too. I'll be on deck if you need me" Ben said as he fixed his coat and left. Elizabeth placed the parcel of herbs against Waverley's wound and secured it with a bandage before she cleared up the mess from the procedure.
"Thank you, Bryan, for what you did there at the gallows. I owe you my life" Elizabeth said sadly as she held his hand, "I only hope that you survive this so that I may one day return the favour."

Bryan yelled when she pulled the bullet out and again when the heated dagger pressed against his wound. He forced back another one when the snake bit him. The herbs burned as they touched his wound and he felt lightheaded and dizzy. "I can never go back now," he breathed. "They have a strict rule that, should one of theirs desert and betray, the Betrayer must be killed on sight."
"At least it's another scar to add to the collection," teased Sam, gaining a small grin from the Templar deserter. "Are we going to Inagua? My crew is probably worried to death about me."

Assassin of the Black Flag(open) - Page 7 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) - Page 7 EmptySun Dec 28, 2014 6:07 pm

Elizabeth froze when Waverley mentioned the Templar's rule, she only came around when Samuel asked if they were going to Inagua.
"I am well aware of that rule, Bryan, for I have witnessed its enforcement firsthand" Elizabeth said coldly as she stood up and grabbed a bottle of rum, "We should be at Inagua within the next few days, if everything goes according to plan. Sam, keep an eye on him. You are welcome to help yourself to any supplies you should need." Elizabeth quietly walked out of the room, and shut the door behind her.

Elizabeth took a lift up to the crow's nest, sat leaning against the mast, and looked out over the water as she nursed the bottle of rum. The light of the moon softly illuminated the ship while the reflection of the stars on the water looked like thousands of shimmering diamonds. Most of the crew on both vessels had already turned in for the night, the only exceptions being the helmsmen. Even Hornigold had returned to his currently cramped quarters. Assuming that everyone was fast asleep, Elizabeth did something she had not done in a very long time, she began to sing.

"Of all the money that e'er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all

Oh, all the comrades that e'er I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I've loved
They'd wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all."

Her hauntingly melodious voice echoed over the ocean, the beauty of her voice marred with the pain of the memory of her parents.

"That is the reason why I try to keep her away from Torres" Ben remarked upon hearing Elizabeth's singing from inside the cabin, "He reminds her of her parents."

"What will, you do now, Waverly?" he asked after Elizabeth's voice drifted off into silence.
"I honestly don't know," the Templar said, raising up enough to look to the ring that adorned his finger. The ring of a Templar. "The Templar Order is all I have known. Thanks to you, I no longer have that to look forward to."
"I owe you my life, Templar," Sam said softly, taking a seat and picking at a plant sitting on the desk. "Perhaps when we land at Inagua, I can see about getting you a place among my Brothers and Sisters."
"What makes you think they'd let a Templar Betrayer into their ranks?"

Sam remained silent for a little bit, ignoring the slight pain settling in his stomach. He needed to eat. He licked dry lips with his tongue and looked over at Waverly, a soft look in his deep blue eyes. "I've seen it happen once," he answered quietly, returning his gaze to the plant. "A long time ago, a short time after I saved your hide." Sam then stood, having heeded his stomach's protests. "Really hope Ben doesn't mind me using his kitchen," with that, Sam exited the cabin with a promise to return and went below deck, heading for the kitchen.

"The Assassins might be a bit more understanding of your desires when they find out about recent events. I know that Elizabeth and Samuel can testify for you and they can help get you into the Brotherhood" Ben said once Samuel had left for the kitchen, "I doubt that you will be trained at their headquarters, but then again, Kenway wasn't, and look how he turned out."

"Smells good," Elizabeth said as she joined Sam in the kitchen, "What is it?"

He smiled when he was joined by his Sister. "A special soup my mentor used to make whenever I'd get sick or injured," he answered, taste-testing it. He made a face and grabbed some garlic and salt, adding a pinch of each to the strange mixture and testing it again. "Needs something...what am I forgetting? Ah!" Sam dove for a small bit of meat, most likely beef, and began to simmer the chunks until cooked before sliding them into the broth. Then he reached for another herb, basil, and dashed it into the stew before he tasted it again, grinning wide at the familiar taste. Already, he began to feel the aching bruises being soothed and his aching neck where the rope had touched. "Now that's a taste I haven't had in ages." He breathed as he grabbed some bowls, four to be exact. "It will surely benefit Waverly and help that wound of his some. It'll at least take the stinging away and renew his strength." His voice dropped to a soft tone, though the smile was still there as he dished it out into the bowls. "Two days before we were captured, Mentor showed me how to make this. Truth be told, I hadn't even tried after he was killed. Or even after Freddy betrayed our Brotherhood. Never saw the need to." Sam handed two bowls to Elizabeth, one was for her and the other for Ben. "It also might help take those dart effects away from your system. And give Ben some strength. Care to accompany me back up?"

"Certainly" Elizabeth chuckled as she walked after Samuel, "It's strange, now that I think about it, how a good bowl of soup will always make you feel better. Whether you're sick, wounded, or just plain miserable, it always helps."

"Come on, move over. You're not the only one here you know" Elizabeth said as she chased Ben off the large chair, "There you go, Sam." Elizabeth handed the bowls to Ben and started shifting some objects and boxes around, slowly revealing an old black chaise lounge that probably hadn't been used in more than a few months, "I knew it would be here."
"If you'd have asked, I would have told you. Nobody ever uses it anymore."
"Well it's just as comfy as I remember it" Elizabeth chuckled as she sat on the chaise lounge and took her bowl of soup from Ben as he sat beside her.

A smile crept onto Elizabeth's face as she tasted the soup, "I've never tasted anything quite like it, it's got so much flavour to it. Thank you, Sam."
"Aye, not many people I've met know how to cook. Maybe you should give Elizabeth a lesson or two" Ben chuckled.
"I'm an Assassin, Ben, I kill for a living, I do not cook. I spend half my time on contracts where I am happy with my roast fish, rabbit, or the occasional stollen chicken, the rest of the time I get food from the taverns or the general meals served on whichever ship I'm on. So there's no real need for me to learn to cook."
"Well..."
"Just shut up and eat your food before I poison it, or take it for myself" Elizabeth chuckled, "But it really is lovely, Sam. Thank you."

The Assassin smiled and nodded. "Mentor showed me how before I became a Pirate Assassin," he said, taking a bite of the stew, relishing the familiar flavor. "To be honest, I'd forgotten I even had the recipe. It's been a while since I've made anything." Sam sat beside Elizabeth on the lounge and watched Waverly. The Templar Betrayer seemed ravenous, taking rather big bites out of it. "Slow down there, Sharkbait. There's more where that came from."
"Right. Sorry." Bryan said, though he didn't look too sorry, as he continued taking big bites, which made Sam smile and shake his head.

(OOC:Hey guys, I'm a bit new here, along with this Roleplaying system, so tell me if I'm good or not)

Three Days after leaving port, The Templar Damian Butcher, A.K.A "Guillotine" stood behind his wheel, in his whole glory of Six Feet and Ten Inches tall, wearing his Templar Armor. He had destined to sail towards America, but a wind had blown the off-course in the night, and now not a single member knew where they were, including Damian and his First Mate, Huphord O'Donnel, a fellow Templar."Where are we again?" Damian asked for the 536th time, with only a grunt from his first mate.

He had recently spotted a ship in the distance, and he noticed people moving on board. "Raise Sails, Low Speed!" commanded Damian, while turning the wheel a bit towards the ship. He had yet to notice the flag.

(OOC:Give me any feedback what soever,  I am fairly new.)

(Pretty good for a newb. You'll have to wait for Voidmon to respond, as we've had a plot going for a while. To get you to where we are at, Torres tried killing my Assassin, Samuel Donnelly, also known as the Snakefang without much success. He escaped with Void's character, Elizabeth, Ben and a few others to Ben's ship and are now sailing for Inagua, where Sam's crew is making port. Also, Sam's an Assassin Pirate. I have some of his backstory up in the free-write section of here, as does Void for Liz, if you're interested in where they got to where they are at now.)

Elizabeth had taken the empty bowls back to the kitchen and left them at the mercy of the steward, grabbing some oranges on her way out.

"What are you doing?"
"Look, I need to keep myself busy. Since you don't have any whale boats, or a diving bell, I'll have to make do with the next best thing." Elizabeth pointed to an area on the map, "There's a smuggler's den in this area. Normally you'd need a diving bell to reach it."
"But the Benjamin doesn't have a diving bell."
"That's why I won't be using one," Elizabeth chuckled, "I'll be climbing the rocks to the den."
"Nobody has ever done that before. But, there's a first time for everything."

"Bring her in slowly, boys! We don't want to smash her into the cliffs!" The crew of the Benjamin slowly brought her alongside the rocks. "That'll do!" Elizabeth removed her robes and her boots before the climbed the mainmast where she examined the rock before her. She carefully grabbed onto the rock and began her climb, carefully assessing each crack or protrusion before she took hold of it.

When she saw an enemy ship floating off in the distance, Elizabeth ceased her attempt at the climb and dove into the water. She raced into the captain's quarters, leant against the door, still soaking wet with her robes lying somewhere on deck along with her boots.
"Templar ship!"
"What should we do?"
"I don't know! I just wanted to go for a nice little climb and kill a few smugglers! You know, to relax!"
"Calm down, love. They probably don't know there are Assassins and a betrayer onboard."
"And what if they do?"
"They won't" Ben said assuringly as he draped a coat over Elizabeth's shoulders, "Now just calm down and have some rum." Elizabeth sat on the chaise lounge and looked at Ben, Samuel, and Bryan. She buried her face in her hands and simply shook her head.

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

At the mention of Templars, Sam rose and tossed up his hood. The tear in his robes was gone, telling Liz that he had patched it a while ago. "Protect him with your life," he said and exited the cabin. Slowly, he rushed up the mast and made his climb up, passing the crow's nest to get a better vantage point. He was in no shape to fight and he knew it. Then he dropped down and reentered the cabin. "The entire crew on that ship is a Templar. We better not get into a fight. Ben, think we could outrun their ship and make it to Inagua?" If he knew Templar ships, he knew they were fast. That had been made known by the Templar ship that had captured him and Elizabeth several days earlier. It was a slim chance that they'd manage to outrun a ship of Templat orient. If only his own crew were here, or Waverley's.

WE MIGHT NOT BE LOST AFTER ALL!" As he says so, he turns the wheel toward the Smugglers den, while O'Donnel, his First Mate, is hunched over the railing, sneering angrily.

[OOC: Alright, Guillotine. I just have two small requests.
1: Please write in the past-tense. It makes the writing feel more natural when read. (Plus it makes it fit in with the flow of this story. Otherwise it becomes a duck, duck, goose sorta thing)
2: Please try to write more than 4 lines, and maybe allow for possible interaction between characters.

Sorry, but you did ask for feedback. Anyways, welcome]

"Tops, gallants, royals. Get every scrap of duck on the wind." Ben gathered Elizabeth's robes and boots, and handed them to Burges. "Outrun their ship? Aye, getting to Inagua would work to our advantage. Both the Tiger Shark and the Soul Wave are there, not to mention Cockram's not far behind with Waverley's ship. We'll be lucky if we get there and the Jackdaw and the Ranger are there too. It's a shame Thatch lost the Queen Anne's Revenge, she would have been useful round about now."

"Thanks, Burges."
"Any time, captain Shay." Elizabeth put on her robes and gathered all her weapons before finally lying down on the chaise lounge, slightly annoyed that the Templars had ruined her chance of a peaceful afternoon.
"So, Bryan, how's the wound feeling?"

(I'm agreeing with Void on this. But other than that, welcome!!)

Bryan "Sharkheart" Waverly

"Still hurts, but otherwise feeling much better." He answered, his eyelids drooping swiftly. He'd forgotten how tired a full stomach made him.

Samuel, however, stayed out with Ben, his hood up and his wrists flexing in anticipation. He knew that any sort of mention of a Templar would remind him of what his brother had done, or tried to do. And it would make him mad. Right now, with the Templar ship having spotted them, he was itching for a fight.

Damian had decided to spruce up his ship, 'The Party Ship', which was semi-decorated with flowers such as Nightshade and Deathbell... Damian's only hope was that these flowers that were on the ship's railings would look appealing. He had these flowers for obvious reasons - he was using them to poison past Assassin's he had met. "Alright men, we need extreme luck here!" He yelled at his crew. This was followed by a quick mumbled pray "May the Father of Understanding guide us..." He had straightened up yet again, just so one sentence could be yelled. "UN-LOAD THE CANNONS! EMPTY THE SWIVELS! KEEP THE MORTARS EMPTY!" He pointed to each object as he yelled their names.
