Bryan yawned and stretched before he reached over and cuddled Darcey beneath the blanket. He was tired and for good reason. He nestled his head against her skin.

Darcey smiled warmly, and held Bryan close to her. It was so nice and toasty beneath the sheet, but that didn't matter at all compared to what had just happened. She planted a gentle kiss on his skin, and chuckled softly.

Bryan smiled. He fully intended on marrying this woman one day. He gave a yawn and snuggled against her again before he fell still. He didn't want to wake up.

Darcey fell asleep quickly, curled up against Bryan happily. She slept peacefully that night, warm under the sheets with a man she loved. It was a little bit of paradise for her.

That next morning, Bryan was already getting ready to do what they'd come here to do: take out the twins.

Darcey woke up slowly, and watched Bryan for a while.
"Good morning, handsome" Darcey said warmly before she made her way to Bryan, and gently kissed him on the cheek. She quickly pulled her clothes on, and stood at the door. "I'm off to get ready. I'll meet you at the Old Avery in half an hour."

"Be careful. They might be patrolling the docks today." Bryan called after her, fixing his mask and his hood to hide his face and his hair. He checked his weapons and nodded once he was certain that everything was in place.

Darcey raced back to her ship and set about getting ready. She cleaned herself, put on a simple pair of pants and a shirt before putting on some hide armour. She then put on her actual outfit, pulled on her coat, and put on her hat. She prepared her weapons, wrapped her scarf around her face, and headed out to meet Bryan.

Bryan was already at the tavern, a drink in his hands. He was waiting patiently and his eyes were always watching the streets every so often.

Darcey made her way the Old Avery, and got herself a drink before sat down next to Bryan.
"Seen either of the beasties yet" Darcey asked before she sipped at her drink.

Bryan shook his head. He would only talk if he absolutely needed to. But for right now, he remained silent. So far he hadn't seen hide nor hair of the Twins, which was strange.

"That's a pity" Darcey said with a sigh before she took a sip of her drink. She looked up at Bryan, and smiled. "Sorry I ran off so quickly this morning."

Bryan shrugged, letting her know that she had a right to dash off if she had something to do. He honestly didn't mind. Movement caught his eye and soon he was staring out into the streets. There they were. A pair of pirate captains, though Bryan knew better. Those were the Twin Cobras, Assassins.

Darcey downed her drink when she noticed Bryan's behaviour.
"Well then, let's get to work than shall we" Darcey asked curiously.

Bryan warned her with a look. Not yet. Bryan turned his head to watch the Assassins before he rose from his chair, fixed his hood and made his way onto the street, patting his leg as though to tell her to follow his lead. Then he set off down the street, head down and hands at his sides. He kept a good ways behind the two Assassins. This was how he did things.

Darcey followed Bryan carefully, ready to attack at his command. It was almost like when she was training, learning the ways of her predecessor. She watched the two Assassins, and looked out for Bryan at the same time.

Every time the twins would stop to do something, Bryan always made certain that he was looking at wares at the shops nearby. It took a while but finally the two took Bryan to a secluded place of Nassau. He narrowed his eyes. He didn't like this. He stepped out into the open, deserted ground and looked around. The twins had vanished. Not a good thing. Bryan reached up over his shoulders and silently drew out the twin blades.

Darcey followed Bryan through Nassau, keeping a quiet watchful eye on the Assassins. Most of it time, she managed to pass for a normal citizen. She followed Bryan into the clearing, and stood at his side. She didn't like that they had lost the twins. Something was very wrong. Lilith slipped her hand under her long coat, and firmly grabbed her sword.
"I don't like the feeling of this..."

Bryan grunted in agreement, twirling his swords around for a moment while his eyes scanned their surroundings. Movement caught his eye and his head quickly followed. He couldn't see anything and that made him wary. He held out an arm to Darcey, warning her to be careful without speaking. This was something he'd worked with her for about three weeks to a half month on. This way she could understand him whenever they did missions together and he didn't speak.

On two separate buildings, hidden from sight, were the Twins. Each of them had their hoods drawn and a saber at their side. A flintlock was strapped to one thigh and the bottom of their clothes billowed when the wind brushed passed. Carter lifted his head and stared across at his brother. This was their moment. Together as one, they fled down the building and hid among the shadows. Almost as though they were of one mind, the twins began to speak. Their voices blended well together and sounded rather demonic when they mingled.

"Oh look, brother. Two little lost cross bearers."
"How quaint." The next line sent shivers down Bryan's spine.
"What do you say we play a little game?" Bryan could sense the two shifting and knew their eyes were upon them both. He stepped back once, his eyes darting to Darcey only once. These two were terrifying!

Darcey was terrified, but she still managed to think of one thing: Bryan's safety. She moved and stood with her back against Bryan's, her sword drawn and ready.
"It's been an honour serving with you" Darcey said softly as if she were already acknowledging her fate. They were ever so close to the swamp, but the chances of her being there were slim. She still held hope that the half breed was there, that the Demon would help. "Demônio! Eu sei que você está aqui. Por favor, ajude-me e meu amante não devemos ser capazes de vencer. Nós somos irmão e irmã da Ordem dos Templários."
(Demon! I know that you are here. Please help me and my lover should not be able to win. We are brother and sister of the Knights Templar.)

Bryan's eyes never left the area ahead of him. Every muscle in his body was tensed and he had a white knuckled grip on his swords. Where were these two? He had to do something, but he didn't know what he could do. From what information he'd gathered, the two had the Sight and Sense. That would make it harder for him to do anything.

Cooper's hand reached down for the handle of his sword while the other went for the flintlock. His eyes went to his brother only once and immediately Carter had said something with his body alone. Cooper grinned and turned his eyes back upon the Templars. This would be fun. As one, the twins split up. One would stay in the shadows while the other would strike. Cooper looked for his opening before he rushed, swinging his sword down.

Bryan's quick reflexes managed to save both of their sides. His twin swords came up and the clang of metal rang around the area for a while. The weight lifted and when Bryan looked, the Assassin was gone. They strike like snakes: quick and deadly. He thought with a small shiver. What had they gotten themselves into?

Darcey doubled back quickly, scared by what had happened. She didn't like not being able to see the enemy. Darcey closed her eyes, and took a deep breath to try calm herself.
"If you're going to kill a woman, at least let her see the face of her killer!"

The twins both grinned. Showing themselves was something they didn't do. Bryan's eyes kept scanning the buildings and the shadows. What would they do next?

"Worthless maggots" Darcey growled. She opened a pouch that hung at her side, and pulled out three bombs. "Let's get down to business." Darcey lit the bombs, and threw them around the clearing. The bombs were filled with a kind of tear gas, and a fine pink dust.

Once the smoke cleared from the bombs explosion, Bryan looked around. It was still misty, but he could clearly sense that the twins were still there. If they were blind, they didn't act like it or anything. Bryan's hands tightened on his swords. Maybe they'd gotten in over their heads...
