The Vampire's Rise

"Be careful" Lilith said softly as she looked at the door.
"He's a good man, Lilith. Very few men would do what he just did." Lilith was already up, and grabbing some of her belongings. She quickly hid Dracul under her top, and carefully hid the box containing Dracul's armor. Lilith took one look at Ajax, and closed her eyes tightly.
"Be careful, Ajax. Remember, go for the face or throat." Ajax rubbed his head against Lilith before scampering off to hide. Lilith pulled on a large black cloak, and drew her hood. In a way, Lilith was hesitant to leave.
"Come on, Lilly, let's get you back to the barracks" Donahue said softly before he wrapped an arm around Lilith, and led her outside. He locked the door, and helped her walk away from the house. They walked for a while before joining up with a group of Templar soldiers, and were escorted back to the barracks.

The moment they arrived at the barracks, Lilith bolted for her room, and locked herself away so she could cry in peace.

Haemon's nose tracked down many Assassins, all of which he had dealt with quickly before disappearing over the next rooftop. He had to throw them off of Lilith's trail and onto the trail of the demon wolf. He just had to be careful to not let them get close enough to take a guess at who it was beneath the facade of the wolf.

A young woman wearing black and red robes followed Haemon from a distance. She didn't seem to be a threat. Eventually, she thought that Haemon had done enough damage to get the Assassins off of Lilith for a while. The woman sped up rather unnaturally, and landed right in front of Haemon. She looked at him, dipped her head slightly, and held out her hand (bearing the Templar cross) for him to sniff.
"Do not worry, I am a friend. You must return to the barracks, for the sake of your beloved. Do any more damage, and they'll be after you both."

Haemon warily sniffed at the woman's hand for a moment, his lips peeling back into a single growl. It had seemed as though he had been about to argue, but had stopped. This woman, whoever she was, made sense. He looked up at her for a moment before he huffed in acknowledgement and sprang up one more level of the building, staying out of sight while he returned to normal. After that, he dropped back down and flicked off specks of dirt from his outfit. The outfit of an Assassin, despite the Templar's mark on him. He nodded to the woman before he went home.

"Ajax." He called the second the door clicked closed behind him.

Little Ajax crept out from his hiding spot, and leapt up into Haemon's arms. He seemed happy to see his master again.

Lilith was curled up on her bed, staring out into the darkness. She was terrified, and worried for Haemon. He meant the world to her.

"Glad to know you're safe as well, little one. Come on. It's time to go see Lilith and possibly lie low for a while." With those words, Haemon gathered what he would need for a few days and headed out of the house, locking it up tight with Ajax in hand. Then he headed to the barracks.

"Lilith." He called, knocking on the door for a few times, still holding the little hell cat.

The strange woman from earlier opened the door, smiled at Haemon, and left. Lilith looked up at Haemon, and the tears began to flow. She leapt up from her bed, and raced towards him.
"Little bat! You're alright" Lilith cried happily as she wrapped her arms around him.

Haemon stared, dazed, at the strange woman who had disappeared as suddenly as she had appeared. He was barely aware of Lilith wrapping her arms around him in an embrace. It was her voice that snapped him out of it. "Yea." He managed to say in a subdued manner. Then he snapped himself out of it. "I've killed enough Assassins to throw the Assassins off your trail. I've even taken an extra precaution and never got close enough to let them piece together that it was me. Altaïr might be put off of tracking the Demon and instead be focused on the Demon Wolf for a bit. I think it would be best for both of us if we don't transform around others."

"I know. Thank you so much, little bat. I think it would be best if we hunted outside of the city walls for a while." Lilith finally let go of Haemon, and took a step back. She looked out of the window with a certain longing in her eyes. She had always been careful, but she must have slipped up somewhere. Lilith poured herself a glass of wine, and another for Haemon. "I just hope that we'll be safe" Lilith said sadly as she handed Haemon the glass of wine.

"We will be." Haemon said with a nod, taking the glass of wine and swirling it for a moment before he took a sip. A shudder ran through his body and he almost dropped the glass while the other arm definitely dropped Ajax, who landed lightly upon the floor and scurried over to the pile of pillows on the floor.

"What's wrong, little bat" Lilith asked curiously before she set her glass aside. She had been on edge since she first overhead the Assassins. Dracul hung from his perch, watching the two closely.

At first, Haemon didn't answer. This feeling was similar to the feeling of withdrawal he'd had a while ago, but it wasn't the same. It was different and his eyes had gained a faraway look, as though he was distant. He didn't even know how he could answer Lilith. He himself didn't even know what was wrong. Another tremble racked through his body and he pressed his now empty hand against his forehead, his fingers sliding up into his hair while his eyes closed tight.

(I have an idea, but it's rough and I don't know how to make it full.  it's pretty much like they can anticipate the future, or see visions. Like the Jedi XD)

"You saw it too, didn't you? The Assassins, the hunters, the church..." Lilith sat down on the floor, pulled her knees to her chest, and rested her head on her knees. She had seen unspeakable things in her dreams, but she didn't know they were visions, not until that point. "Haemon, I'm scared. I've seen what they do to people like us. Werewolves, vampires, dark sorcerers, even pagans." Lilith was extremely worried, and thoroughly terrified. Haemon was a werewolf, and a demon with vampiric attributes. And she was a dark sorceress, the daughter of the devil, a demon, and a pagan. If either of them were caught... Lilith trembled in fear, and tried to shake the thought from her head.

Haemon slid down onto the floor and ran a hand through his hair. He had seen what she'd described. But there was something else. Something...hidden. Something dark and evil. "There was something else." he said quietly, his voice trembling. "I can't explain it but..I felt something else in those images. Something dark and evil. Sinister. Not a friend to either Assassin or Templar."

"It might have been my father, but he promised he'd only get involved when my life is in peril." Lilith looked at the fireplace, and tilted her head slightly as she thought. She ran her fingers through her hair, and sighed. Was her father going to get involved? Lilith shook the thought from her head. She wanted her father, and Haemon to meet on good terms.

Haemon didn't know if her father was going to get involved or not and he was about to say something that could have soothed her had it not been for something that felt like claws digging into his chest and turning his blood to ice. He shivered and dipped his head just slightly. It was hard to breathe for a second before he took a breath. To him, it felt like he'd just come back up from dark waters. Haemon examined his hand for a moment and the crescent mark that rested there from the contract. He'd made a deal with the devil. Did that mean what he thought it did?

Lilith made her way to Haemon's side, and wrapped her arms around him. She wanted to comfort him, to make him feel safe. She looked at the brand on his hand, and hung her head.
"You're worried about the contract, aren't you" Lilith asked quietly before see gave Haemon a warm hug.

"It's not that I'm worried." Haemon answered softly, snuggling into her embrace and letting some of his weight slump onto her. "It's just that...I want to know if my soul will be in tact. Untouched. I've...read in many of my mythology books that sometimes a demon required the price of the soul of the one who wants a contract and that once it was completed...well, the demon would take the human's soul."

"You're forgetting something, little bat: you are not really a human. As a result, my father has no claim to your soul." Lilith pulled a copy of the contract from her pocket, and sat down at her desk. She ate a roll as she read over the contract. "All he wants, as I have said before, is that you visit him at least once." Lilith finished her roll, and had another sip of her wine. "It's really not that bad, if you ask me. My father is actually quite nice once you get to know him, but he is also a bit of a prankster."

Haemon gave a nod and swallowed quietly. "How about we go now?" He asked, looking over at Lilith. "It might be a good idea, considering Altaïr will be following both trails of the demons, if not just one." Then he thought about how the barracks would need to be protected should the Assassins attack and how he and Lilith were about their best chance for survival. "On second thought...perhaps we should leave when we know the barracks will be safe for Donahue and the others."

"Haemon, the Templars will be just fine without us. They have thousands of men at their disposal. With the information I have given Donahue, the Templars have the upper hand. Besides, the Assassins would never be stupid enough to actually attack the barracks. If I'm not mistaken, that would breaking one of their rules." Lilith brushed a knot out of her hair as she thought for a while. If the Assassins found out that the Templars had demons on their side, things would get very ugly, very quickly.

"I suppose you're right." Haemon said calmly, his eyes falling upon the door. It might have been just a trick of the lighting but Haemon seemed....concerned. Perhaps it was for all the Templars here or just for Donahue. Wherever his concern was aimed, it vanished with an instant and he turned back to Lilith. "Is there anything I'd need?"

"Just a weapon of your choice, and some good armor. And maybe some snacks?" Lilith cut up an apple for Dracul, and set the pieces on a plate before setting the bat beside the plate. "You could bring Ajax with, or you could leave him with Donahue, and his wife. The choice is yours."

Haemon turned to Ajax, who was half hidden in the cushions lying in one corner of the room. "What do you think, Ajax? You wanna go to hell or stay here?"

Ajax let out a soft mew as if to say yes. Lilith shook her head, and wiped her face. She didn't seem too thrilled at the idea of taking the kitten back to hell.
"Ajax, you're not going to cause any trouble this time, are you? You were the runt of the litter, and if I remember correctly, your mother tried to eat you. You still want to come with?" Ajax just sat there for a moment, seemingly in thought, before he let out a mew. Lilith crossed her arms, and looked from the kitten, to Haemon. "He doesn't mind either way, so it's up to you. Do you want him to come with, or stay at the barracks?"
