Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

A young man approached a large ship and smiled with pride. This was his vessel, the Soul Wave. It was a great ship meant for many things, though he mainly used her for pillaging and contracts. He approached the gangplank that led onto the deck and smiled wide when he heard his First Mate call out to the crew. "Captain on deck!" The crew yelled in greeting as Samuel approached the wheel. "Welcome back aboard, Captain." Sam nodded in greeting, pulling his hood from off his head.

"Good to be back," he answered, gripping the wheel spokes. "Hoist the anchor and set the sails against the wind! We sail for home!" At the yell of the captain, the crew set to work pulling the anchor up from the sea and freeing the sails from their holders. Samuel took a deep breath and exhaled. It was good to be back on open water again.

William stands at the helm of The Reaper's Bounty watching a ship leave the Turneffe Islands, he quickly starts turning his ship in pursuit. He orders his men to prepare the cannons for battle, William slows the ship in order to discreetly follow the ship that pulled away in order to see if he can find more treasure or a stash. He smiles as he oversees his brig purr like a kitten as it follows the ship.

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

He lifted his head high as the wind stroked his hair. This was where he belonged. He grinned as his crew began to sing a tune as he guided the ship along the normal route home. "Ship off the rear Captain," called the Scouter in the Crow's nest. Samuel handed the wheel to his Quartersmaster to look off the rear of the ship, pulling up his hood as he did.

"Boys," he called, turning back and taking the wheel back. "Get ready for battle. Secure all cargo below deck." His crew scurried about to full fill his orders while he looked over his shoulder, grinning. "Let's see how fast their ship can run. Lower the sails!" The crew shouted back in an echo what the Captain wanted and then the sails fell, catching the wind.

"This laddie thinks he can escape me." Julian, William's quartermaster smiles at the remark and orders the men to let full sail go in order to capture the fleeing ship. William orders a mortar to be fired at the ship though he hopes it misses so the ship isn't harmed so it could be used for other purposes. The Bounty catches up to the fleeing ship and William hands the wheel to Julian and free runs over to the enemy ship and draws his swords for the inevitable fight.

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

"Brace yourselves," Sam called, ducking low against the wheel as the mortar hits near the back of the ship off to the side. "Return fire, lads," shouted Marcus, the Quartermaster. The crew scurried to dump gun powder filled barrels off the rear of the ship.

"Fire!" Marcus called. Samuel turned and handed off the wheel, feeling the thrill of battle rush into his veins. He tugged on his hood and tightened his hidden blades before he drew out his own weapon, pulling out his pistol as he drew his sword. He was ready. A grin spread across his face, his eyes gleaming. "Turn her around," he called. "And destroy their sails."

Again, the crew scurried about to fulfill their Captain's call. The Soul Wing swung around wide and at the same time, mortars were fired at the pursuing ship's sails. "Prepare to board and be boarded!" Shouted Samuel, shoving each weapon back into their holsters before he ran to the mast, using his momentum to launch himself up onto the sails. There he watched, pulling out his pistol yet again. His hands were steady, a clear sign he had been in numerous battles on land and at sea. To Snakefang, this was no big deal, although his gut told him otherwise.

"Stop blowing holes in my ship!" Shouts William, he charges at the crew with swords drawn and swings at a man manning one of the cannons. Meanwhile Julian notices a hooded man on the sails of the other ship, he looks at a crew member with great marksmanship and nods, the man fires a musket shot at the man. The mortar shots set some parts of the sails ablaze and some crew members rush to put the flames out. A man to the right of Julian fires the swivel cannon and blows the barrales up.

The crew member is grazed by the bullet and he fires another shot at the man after he stabs a fellow crew member. William notices the enemy captain attack a member of his crew and William sheaths his sword and rushes back to his ship and quickly heads to the man, he draws his sword once again to engage the man, William laughs heartily as he says "Care to dance?"

He brought his sword up, crossing it with William's, grinning beneath his hood. "I'll lead," he rumbled. Then he brought his sword up, striking the other blade rather hard.(insert awesome battle music!!! Lol)

William responds with a quick strike to the top of the robed man's blade, he then notices the bracers on the mans arm and notes the similarity to his hidden blades. Out of curiosity William asked "Those bracers on your arm wouldn't happen to contain blades hidden in them, would they?"

He took pause for a moment, his eyes narrowing. However, he wanted to ease curiosity and flicked his wrist. A thin silver blade slipped free from its hiding place. "Why," he asked cautiously, relaxing his wrist so that the blade slipped back into its sheath.

Assassin of the Black Flag(open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) EmptySat Nov 22, 2014 1:22 pm

David Lewis Dosset sat tied and blindfolded beneath the deck of an Assassin vessel called the Soul Wave. He deliberately surrendered himself to the ship's captain two days prior in order to save his crew of smugglers from total anihilation.

The assassin's attack on his vessel was swift and unexpected. Most of his men died before the vessel was even boarded. So in order to save his few remaining men and also the supplies he was meant to deliver, he decided to surrender. Dosset told the Assassin that none of his crew were Templars, that they were only innocent people trying to make a living and that he would be willing to answer all of his question on the Templar Order if he let them go.

It was all a lie of course, but it worked. Plus, it minimalized casualties.

"Be patient and opportunity would soon show itself." Dosset relaxed himself and lay back upon the pillar behind him. If there's one thing that experience had taught him; it's that if every problem can be solved, then what's the point of worrying?

BOOM!!!

An explosion blew Dosset awake from his pondering. A round of cannonballs had struck the back of the vessel, leaving many gaping holes behind. This was it, this was his opportunity. He will use this commotion as a distraction and make a break for it. Dosset manipulated the ropes he was tied with and managed to break free. He stood up slowly, balancing himself, following the rhythm of the trembling ship. "Sorry Assassin," he tore off the fabric that was covering his eyes. "but fortune favors the bold."

His weapons were stashed inside a chest below the staircase. Dosset had to evade incoming cannonballs and falling debris to get there, tis a minor obstacle for the likes of him. The same goes to lockpicking, even under these kind of circumstances. "Just a few more and...."

Click!

"...simple as that." Dosset opened the chest and gathered his weapons, a flintlock pistol and his faithful obsidian walking stick. He carefully checked both items for any sort of damages before going up into the ship's main deck. Once above, the sun greeted him with malice. It blinded him for a few seconds. Not a surprise really, he hadn't seen daylight for two days and it will be awhile before he gets used to it again.

Through his blurred vision he is able to see a fraction of the chaos. People were scurrying around in panic, gunshots were firing, and blades were clashing. Dosset dragged himself into the midst of it. He blocked an incoming sword with his walking stick and replied with a quick blow into the opponent's throat, destroying his lungs and his ability to speak. Then he shot two guys in quick succession and jabbed another one straight in the face, breaking his nose and most of his teeth. Even with poor vision, Dosset is still able to handle things pretty well.

"I'll lead!"

That voice, it's the Assassin's. It was coming from the attacking vessel right across. Dosset focused his sight on the source and scrutinized the fight. The Assassin was fighting someone. More specifically, he was fighting another Assassin. How did he know? Both were wearing hoods and both have their 'not so' hidden blades armed on their wrists. "What a bunch of misguided fools." he mumbled to himself. "Might as well end them both right now, I'll be doing them both a favor."

Dosset strut himself closer towards the Assassins. He reloaded his flintlock pistol and took aim, not at the Assassins, but at the  barrels of gunpowder right next to them. If this shot goes through, it's all over. His eyes were set. His finger was tightening on the trigger. When suddenly, one of the crew members pushed him aside and his shot hits a barrel of rum instead. "You low class scoundrel!" he exclaimed, before kicking the man overboard. "Now I need a change of plan."

The shot that had missed must have already caught the Assassin's attention but he had no more bullets left. Dosset ran towards one of the crew members holding a rifle and killed him. He needed to do this fast. The Assassins were probably planning to attack him now. Dosset aimed the rifle towards the same barrels as before and quickly shot one of them. The chain of explosions that occur afterwards were beautiful.... and horrible.

OOC: Sorry if it's kind of long, but I had to build up a story on how my character got involved in this and it's kind of hard since he's a Templar. Also, mine's already been accepted by the mods Smile

(Cool! Lol. This will be amusing!)

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

The first bullet had alerted him to the prisoner he had taken. "Shit," he cursed and began his run from his fellow Assassin, dislodging his sword from its sheath. The second bullet struck its mark and the explosion that happened after caught Samuel in the back, sending him flying forward. Luckily, his crew had scurried to help their Captain, grabbing a hold of his tunic and hauling him aboard. "Don't just stand there you dogs," he barked. "The Templar is right there! Stop fighting and get him!"

Samuel knew his crew was too busy with the other ship to really hear his command so he rushed toward the Templar. "You sorry dog." Said Snakefang, his eyes deadly and glaring daggers into Dosset's skin. "I should have killed you when I had the chance! I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. A Templar's word is about as trustworthy as a crocodile!" That was to say a Templar's word wasn't trustworthy at all.

Assassin of the Black Flag(open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) EmptySun Nov 23, 2014 3:32 am

The Assassin's survival wasn't high in Dosset's list of things he wanted to happen. It was just a point below 'everyone dies after the explosion' and a point above 'the explosion didn't manage to kill anybody'. But alas, you can't always get what you want. The Assassin was struggling to get back up on his feet after the impact of the explosion. His faithful crew scurried towards him, giving him the help he needed. From across the vessel, Dosset looked on with pity until he caught a glimpse of the Assassin's eyes. The Assassin's eyes were now filled with rage. A rage towards himself and his very own existence.

The Assassin recovered not long after, he rushed right at him with a dagger at hand. His words were muffled by the tumultuous atmosphere surrounding them. Dosset only managed to capture a few lines. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted you. A Templar's word is about as trustworthy as a crocodile!" he bawled. In fairness, with pirates like himself sailing the seas as of late, he shouldn't have trusted anyone. The world is filled with backstabbing scumbags and sometimes you just can't tell the difference between a mask and a face.

"It was a necessary lie." Dosset replied with an assured tone. "You were going to kill all of my men and I just cannot let that happen." the vessel they were standing on was starting to fall apart. Sails were collapsing on top of them and the fires were spreading at a slow but constant rate. This is not going to end well. "Now, as you can see, this ship and your companion's over there are about to sink. So how about the both of you stop fighting each other." he said with a smirk, pointing his obsidian walking stick at both of the Assassins before continuing...

"Because frankly, I'll be more than glad to take on the both of you."

PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) EmptyMon Nov 24, 2014 8:23 am

(Although my character is still awaiting approval, I couldn't resist the urge to join.)

It had been three days since Elizabeth left the Cayman Sound after her meeting with Opía Apito. She had been sent by Ah Tabai to assess the templar activity around the islands and deliver supplies to Opía. Things were good as Opía had managed to get Elizabeth to fall asleep after a good hunt. Elizabeth looked at the skin of the white leopard that she had draped over her chair and smiled before she left her cabin.

"Captain, two ships off the larboard bow. Pirates, the both of them, and they look to be in rough shape."
"That's none of our concern, lad. Leave them be" Elizabeth said as she looked at the two vessels.
"But, captain" the young man protested.
"Enough! You know better than to test me, or do you need to be reminded!"
"No, captain, I apologise."
"Good," Elizabeth said as she picked up her spyglass and examined the crew of the rival brigs, "We will stay for a while, just to see who emerges victorious. If there are any survivors, we'll bring them aboard and drop them off at the nearest friendly port. I'm sure they have some decent cargo so we can help ourselves to that and sell it at Havana."
"Men, drop anchor. The captain says we're to stay" the quartermaster shouted.
"What in the devil's name is he doing here" Elizabeth thought aloud before she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small book, "Capture of Dante Lewis Dosset, contract accepted by: Samuel Donnelly." Elizabeth closed the book and returned it to her pocket, "There's been a change of plan, lads. Ready the boarding hooks, there's some business that needs tending to." The men quickly scurried off to do their captain's bidding while Elizabeth took the lift up to the crow's nest of the main mast and ran across the sails.

Ah Tabai's voice echoed through Elizabeth's mind, "Remember, my child, you need to be patient. Try to calm yourself before you rush into battle, you will see things more clearly this way." Elizabeth drew her hood and put a sleep dart into her old blowpipe. Every fibre of her being was screaming at her to rush into battle, kill Dosset, and send "Snakefang" back to his bureau. However, she was tired and she hadn't slept since she left the Cayman Sound. Given her history of messing up due to hallucinations bought on by her insomnia, she decided to follow her training and do things the right way, Ah Tabai's way. She had no choice, a brother's life was at risk.
"Calm yourself, and you should be alright" Elizabeth thought to herself as she quickly crept along the ropes and onto Donnelly's ship.

Dante Dosset now stood pointing his walking stick at the assassin and the pirate, "Now, as you can see, this ship and your companion's over there are about to sink. So how about the both of you stop fighting each other."
"Oh great, a talker, just what I needed. Still, at least he's honest" Elizabeth thought to herself as she tied a coil of ribbon to her and the mainsail.
"Because frankly, I'll be more than glad to take on the both of you." Elizabeth took aim at the templar, inhaled deeply, and sent the dart flying into Dosset's neck. As soon as Dosset hit the deck, Elizabeth jumped down from her hiding place and landed gracefully in front of the pirate and the assassin. The silk ribbon made her look like a spider descending from its web.

(Both my guy and the Pirate are assassins. Lol)

Samuel "Snakefang" Donnelly

The captain leapt onto Dosset, quickly tying the man's hands together and kicking his weapons away. "Lads," he called, whipping around. "Cease your fighting or sink with the Soul Wave!" At his call, his crew began to cease their fighting, however their weapons remained in their hands. Samuel turned back to the new Captain, his sword still in hand while he shoved his pistol back into its holster. "Who are you?" He asked, scanning her body with hi eyes. "You're not dressed as a Templar or a Pirate."

A sudden idea came to mind. If this woman was truly an Assassin like him, she would know the response to any of the phrases the Assassins used. "In the Darkness we Shine."

PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) EmptyMon Nov 24, 2014 2:39 pm

“Who are you? You’re not dressed as a templar or a pirate.”
“I don’t remember seeing him at Tulum, hopefully he doesn't know. I hope he isn’t like the others” Elizabeth thought as she eyed Samuel cautiously, meeting assassins was something she never looked forward to, especially since she had incorporated the templar cross in the assassin’s emblem embroided in the middle of her belt.
“In the darkness we shine” Samuel said after he had examined her.
“We work in the dark to serve the light. Nothing is true, everything is permitted.” Elizabeth was sure that “Snakefang” wouldn’t think twice about killing her because of her ties to the templars. Whether he knew of her history or not, she knew that the assassins hated templars and they certainly hated her simply because she was the daughter of a templar. Ah Tabai and Mary Read were the only assassins who didn’t care that she was the daughter of a templar, the others either hated her or refused to trust her.
“Name’s Elizabeth Shay, but everyone calls me “The Demon”. Good to see some brothers on the sea” Elizabeth said as she offered to shake Samuel’s hand. She had forgotten that she was wearing her father’s ring, his templar ring that she pulled from the ashes of her house the day after the incident. Elizabeth watched the faces of the two assassins, hoping that they had not noticed the ring or her emblem.

Assassin of the Black Flag(open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Assassin of the Black Flag(open)   Assassin of the Black Flag(open) EmptyMon Nov 24, 2014 3:25 pm

Dosset's words were merely a bluff. He was fully aware that he was vastly outnumbered and rightly outgunned. But he hoped that his confident facade would mask his private anxiety. In truth, he was just giving himself more time. A vain attempt to delay the inevitable. Dosset lets out a small sigh, his smirk fading into a doleful frown. "May the father of understanding guide us." he mused as he shifted his body into attacking position, a basic stance for the art of cane fighting. His plan is to disarm the Assassin and puncture his nervous system with a set of breakneck movements. But before his plan could come to fruition, he felt a mild sting on the back of his neck.

Dosset inspected the source of pain with his free hand and pulled it out of his flesh, he then proceeded to analize the peculiar object. It was a poison dart. A very basic one at that. Thinly shaped to reduce air resistance with a flock of blue feathers attached on it's rear to signify the culprit. Another Assassin was among them, but where?. Dosset looked at his surroundings, fighting off the effects of the poison as long as he could with his willpower. A different vessel could be seen not far from his position, it was sailing from behind his line of sight. That's why he didn't notice it coming. Not able to resist the poison any longer, Dosset slumped onto the deck, fully conscious but paralyzed from his torso to his toes.

The unknown vessel docked right beside the Soul Wave, or what was left of it. Dosset manuevered his head into a more comfortable position, he wanted to see the Assassin that did this to him. It turns out that the Assassin was a woman, her silk ribbon swayed gracefully as she descended from her hiding place. She had hypnotic blue eyes, opium colored lips, a winsome body, tantalizing in many ways. She reminded him of his deceased wife, Clara. Dosset's reminiscing was cut short when the other Assassin kicked away his weapons and tied him up. He was now once more a prisoner. “Better than being dead.” he thought.

The Assassin had ordered his crew to ceasefire. A wise decision. A couple of more hits and this vessel would’ve sunk like a rock. Dosset watched in silent as the Assassin asked for his female counterpart’s identity, using a secret phrase as a sureway to do it. The woman replied with a different but similarly vague phrase, the assured tone in her voice indicated that she is without a doubt another Assassin.  “Name’s Elizabeth Shay, but everyone calls me “The Demon”. Good to see some brothers on the sea”  she said as she offered her hand to his fellow Assassin. Dosset couldn’t help but notice the ring she was wearing, it was without a doubt a Templar's ring. He knew that the other Assassin would kill her if he found out and for some reason he didn’t want that to happen. Which is why he willed himself to talk, aiming his words straight at the male Assassin

“You are a pathetic excuse for an Assassin, you don’t even know who your allies are.  Hell, you were bloody fighting with one. You also almost got your ship destroyed by one Templar. ME. If I were your crew, I’d throw myself overboard. Working for you is an act of disgrace.”

Dosset realized that he should have just kept his mouth shut, but it was too late for that. Hopefully his distraction could give her enough time to hide the ring.

(Oh and my character's name is Dante Lewis Dosset, not David :p)

Elizabeth could feel that something wasn't right, she didn't know just how right she was. Due to her lack of sleep, she had forgotten to make sure that the templar was, indeed, unconscious.

“You are a pathetic excuse for an assassin, you don’t even know who your allies are. Hell, you were bloody fighting with one. You also almost got your ship destroyed by one templar. ME. If I were your crew, I’d throw myself overboard. Working for you is an act of disgrace” Dosset ranted as he glared at the group of assassins.

Elizabeth didn't know what to do, even the biggest British brutes were out cold from a single dart. Elizabeth knelt down and looked into the templar's eyes, they expressed a feeling she was all too familiar with, concern. Dosset managed to point to Elizabeth's ring, "Thank you, friend" she whispered as she took off her ring. Elizabeth quickly threaded the ring onto a chain around her neck before she hid it under her robes. Elizabeth draped the ribbon around her neck in a desperate attempt to hide her emblem. If the emblem managed to escape Dosset's attention, maybe the assassins hadn't noticed it either.

"By blood, I am one of them yet I am also an assassin, both by blood and profession. Even though I have killed many of his brothers, this one is, different. Why would a templar help me" Elizabeth thought to herself, still kneeling at the templar's side. She hated templars, just like every assassin, and Dosset was by no means a friend. She had merely called him a friend as a formality, kind words whispered in thanks to a man who would most likely die at the hands of the assassins.
