Ah Tabai

Ah Tabai looked up at Damian, a hint of anger about him. "She is doing all of this... For us! That we might finally have some peace for a while. If we attack, we lose it all. If we attack that ship, we could lose her in the process!"
"He's probably right... Actually, he is right. We need to think about this a little bit more."

A moment of quiet seemed to sweep over the British fleet, as Commodore Roger Stodd came out of his cabin, and escorted the pirate to the quarterdeck, and looked out over his crew, and at the ships around them. He took a deep breath, and began to speak.

"Eliz... The Demon and I have come to an agreement. She will be taken as a prisoner of the Royal Navy and be served her justice. All pirates present in this battle will be given freedom to return to their ships, and enjoy a month of peace. I implore all of you to make the most of this opportunity - if you are to cause any trouble in the eyes of the Royal Navy or the British Empire, this pardon will hold no sway. Now, The Demon has been given the right to make final words with the men under her command."

The Commodore stepped aside, letting Elizabeth forward. He looked over his own crew; they all looked proud. They should, he thought. There wasn't a great reason not to feel proud in this moment.

(Suggested song: Celtic music - for king)

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth looked to the men under her command, and smiled as she stepped forward. Her head was held high as she began her speech.
"Brothers and sisters... I have known you all for as long as I can remember. Some of you have even knew me when I was but a baby, and a smaller number of you even sailed with my father. You all know how I lost my parents to Torres as a child, lost my home to the British, and how they cut down Thatch before me. You are my family, and I am doing this for you. It has been an honour to fight alongside you. To know each of you, and to call you my family. It is with a heavy heart that I must leave you, but it must be done." A wave of silence washed over the entire Pirate fleet before the men did something they hadn't done since November of 1718. Elizabeth watched with tears in her eyes as the men raced below deck, and a few manned the cannons on deck.
"Captain Elizabeth Donnelly! Satan! The Demon!" The tears flowed freely from Elizabeth's eyes as the pirates fired out to sea, and each ship hoisted her colours. Elizabeth handed all her weapons to Morgana, and took the bottle of rum that Morgana had brought for her, and a large book that Elizabeth kept on the Sentinel.
"Read is dead, but we managed to find her daughter. Kenway and Bonny are safe too" Morgana whispered as she hugged Elizabeth. Elizabeth's heart shattered when she heard of Mary's deat.
"What about Charlie?"
"They weren't able to free him." Elizabeth hung her head, "Look after them for me." Elizabeth turned to face the pirates and Assassins once more, "Mary Read, also known as James Kidd, has died" Elizabeth roared with pain thick in her voice. "Now go! Return to your families, and... And remember me fondly. Remember the time we spent together, as a family." Hearing the cries of her men, Elizabeth turned to thethem one final time, and began to sing the parting glass as she looked to all the men she had ever known. Elizabeth drew her hood to just above her eyes, and turned to face the Commodore. "I am ready." She held the book tightly against her chest as if it might be ripped from her arms at any second. The bottle of rum was held less tightly in fear that she might break it. The sound of the pirates singing Padstow Farewell as they sailed away, brought tears to her eyes, and a smile to her face. Elizabeth tugged her hood further over her eyes, and pulled up her mask, and waited to be led to the brig.

(A warning to all.

Never fall in love with your character. When they are facing certain death, or when they die, it destroys you. If you have based your character so closely off of you, your heart breaks, and you feel like you are dying inside.

Take this as good advice from a woman who hasn't stopped crying for the past few hours. (honestly, it's been so long, I've lost track of time. Didn't sleep last night, and my friend literally caught me crying in an alley. Rum to the rescue.))

PostSubject: Re: May the Father of Understanding Guide Us (Open)   May the Father of Understanding Guide Us (Open) - Page 22 EmptyMon Mar 09, 2015 9:31 am

The Commodore led her personally, walking past cheering British troops and mourning pirates making their way off of the ship, to return to their own boats. Stodd looked back as he walked down the steps leading into the lower decks. He locked the door above him, and let out a low sigh as the muffled sounds of footsteps and talk carried in overhead.

A few soldiers saluted Stodd as he walked through the deck, reloading cannons and moving barrels around. He took her further down to the fourth deck. It was empty. No one patrolled here, no one manned the cannons here. They'd all come up. He let out a low sigh, as he took the keys off of the nearby beam and unlocked the nearest cell.

"You should be proud, you know that? You may have signed over your life, but you did it for a good cause. You didn't buckle out of fear. You didn't break under pressure. You knew that the life of the many outweighed the life of the one. Few people realise that in their lives. Fewer are willing to make the sacrifice."

Roger escorted Elizabeth into her cell, locking it, and putting the keys back. He took a long breath, before looking back at her. He leant against the beam, rubbing his neck.

"The people at Port Royal aren't good folk. They're corrupt, like so many other executioners. They take money, they take promotions, anything that can get them what they want. I know a lot of them are Templars. Between you and I... There was a pirate, not long ago, who was quite famous in the Indies. She was a fine shot, a great captain, and loved by many other pirates. She was captured, and she was going to be executed at Port Royal. But, on a good word from some agents, the Templars at the fort let the pirate go when she swore herself to the Order. They were given some fine golds, and her place was taken by another, also convicted to the same fate. No one's said a word of it since."

He made way for the stairs, tapping the wood for a moment before speaking again.

"I do want to see the Demon hung, to suffer like every other pirate whose done what she did. But I'm not so sure I want to see the same of Elizabeth Shay."

With that, he returned to the top deck, to celebrate his new victory, and head back to port.

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth looked around her at the cells, and hung her head. After all her years of piracy, and running from the British, she was finally going to be executed for her crimes. She had a good run, but now it was over, and soon her life would be too.
"Definitely better than half the cells I've been locked in" Elizabeth remarked as she examined the cell that she would spend the next few days in. "I might as well make myself at home" Elizabeth said coldly as she sat on the floor of her cell.

Elizabeth thought about the Commodore's words to her. Could she bribe her way out of her execution? She would be exchanging her honour for her own life. Labeling herself as a traitor, and a coward, in the process. But there were now two things holding her to the mortal coil. Her husband, and now there was Read's orphaned daughter. She thought of her options, and downed the bottle of rum once she had made the most difficult decision of her life. One that might cost her her husband, her dignity, and her chances of caring for baby Read.

"Commodore,
At the cost of my honour, and much more, I have decided what should be done. I will leave the Brotherhood, and join the Templar Order. Provided things work out at Port Royal, which is unlikely on account of me being a pirate, and a Master Assassin. This is only to ensure the safety of my husband, and my friends. I would, however, like to be informed of my possible duties before I make my final decision. A discussion, whenever you have the want or time, would be greatly appreciated. I can wait, since I won't be going anywhere soon."

"Letter for the Commodore" Elizabeth roared as she held the letter out of the bars. She was hoping that someone would hear her roars, and deliver the letter to the Commodore.

Elizabeth was a very cunning woman, and the longer she sat in her cell, the more time she had to think about things. "I take my honour to my grave. Even if I die, I won't betray my family. Not Brian, Damian, Jonathon, or Samuel." Elizabeth leaned against the cell wall, and smiled. She would either die at the gallows, join the Templars, or be rescued by a small group of friends.

The Commodore sat in his room, writing out the review of the battle. The trip from Jolly Harbour, the pirate fleet, the ensuing conflict, the pirate reinforcements, and the battle with Elizabeth. He made certain to right her name out in full, titles and all. Silently, a cabin boy cleans the glass and mess that had been left within the room. He adjusted some seats and banners, and finally, when he was finished, approached the Commodore.

"'scuse me, Commodore. This paintin' seems to have been damaged durin' the fight. Should I 'ave it taken ashore at next port?"

Roger looked up at the painting, frowning. Templars. He shook his head.

"You have it. Sell it next chance you get, I'm sure the frame will get you at least some coin."

The boy nodded and ran off, to get back to his room, and back to work. The Commodore sighed softly, looking down at this nearly finished report. He shook his head, and pushed it aside, pulling out a new sheet of paper, and began to write.

To whom it may concern,

I, Commodore Roger Stodd of the British Royal Navy, hereby officially resign as a member of the Templar Order. My time within the Order has proven notable, and has aided in achieving many personal goals, but I can no longer continue to operate in the name of an Order I hold no faithful value in.

The Commodore looked at his paper and sighed, rubbing his head. He couldn't get out of the Order. He scrunched up the paper into a ball and tossed it aside. Roger leant back on his chair, as he heard his door open.

"Commodore."

"What is it, Whitehorn?"

The Captain locked the door behind him and walked over to the desk, handing over a letter, folded but crinkled. It looked wet. Roger took it and opened it, reading slowly.

"From the pirate. You really made that offer to her? What the Hell is wrong with you, Roger?"

The Commodore looked up to Daniel from the paper, his face contorting into a look of rage. He was tired, he was sore, he was angry, and now he had a reason to blow a gasket. He took a long, deep breath, before opening up into a roaring fit.

"Do you think I made this bloody offer to enhance the power of the Templar Order?! Do you really think that's been my primary goal this whole blasted time!? I want the woman alive by the end of the month, not dead! She's more use to the world as an able body, not a fucking corpse!! Perhaps you'd prefer I have her shot by firing squad to prove something to the other pirates?! As if that proved anything with the hundreds of others!! What's wrong with you Daniel!? You act as if my allegiance has turned me into some sort of anti-human! I'm the same man you laid with in London, but you act as if now it's all different!! I'm still Roger bloody Stodd, Templar or not! The sooner you remember that, the sooner you can get off my fucking ship and back to you and your Creed!"

Roger sat back down with a huff, his heart beating. Daniel stood there, frowning the entire time.

"Commodore."

The Captain turned and made way out of the room, leaving the Commodore to his own thoughts.

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth sat in her cell, and sketched the day's events; particularly the announcement of her planned execution. She looked at the empty bottle of rum, and sighed. She may not have had any rum, but she still had Hornigold's pipe a large case of Jamaican funk, and an even larger case of Spanish gold. The air in the brig soon stank like cat piss, and there was Elizabeth, sitting in her cell, smoking her pipe, and working on the sketches in her book. She would occasionally stop to add some notes before returning to her sketches, or the rather detailed journal entry of the day's events.

Damian, upon not feeling so joyous at all, took to roaming the jungles outback of Ingua. Occasionally, he would throw a few grenades he 'borrowed' into the shrubbery, scaring off any wildlife nearby. He even killed a couple animals by doing so. Not a matter. He walked along, still with a void [Ayy] expression on his face. Finally, he decided to walk out of the jungles, and approach his brother. "Any ideas?" Jonathon sighed, and simply said, "Well, 'less ya wish to get yer self killed saving 'er, then yes. If ya wanna live... No." Damian sighed, and said, "I can't stand it... I'm getting out my rifle." Jonathon replied, saying, "No - you must not-" "Jonathon, shut up!" Damian interrupted, snapping. "If I decide to put my self on a suicide mission, so be it!" He lightly shoved Jonathon, and stormed into his room. Picking up a rifle laying to the side, he loaded it, putting in the gunpowder and bullet. He picked up a bag, decorated with the Assassin symbol. It held Twenty Bullets. "No matter what..." He said, putting on a holster for it on his back, under his sword. "...I will succeed. If I do not..." He put the rifle in the sheath, loaded. "...then I take them with me..." He picked up a small barrel of gunpowder, with flour mixed in. "...and you..." He said, tapping the barrel. "...will allow me to do so." He put the small barrel in a bag he put on - one bigger than others. He knew the dangers - how Arabella could be heart broken. But no - some men in his crew, they knew him back in Scotland. They would follow him to the Seventh Circle of Hell and back, and then back again. They were the most loyal men he knew. His plans were mad, sure - but for a man like Damian... it was all in a days work.

Tiago Da Silva

Tiago had been listening to the conversation between Jonathon and Damian, and he liked the plan.
"I'll be coming with you, to rescue Mentor. Before you say anything, I need you to listen to what I have to say" Tiago said as he emerged from the shadows. "I may be small, but I can use that to our advantage. I can get in with the crowds, and gather information. Mentor has shown me a few tricks she used to use when she was my age, and I have no concerns about killing anyone that gets in our way. Remember, I am muitos silent. They won't even know that I am there." Tiago looked up at the brothers, hoping that they would agree to take him with.
"I say that we let the lad join u. He could even act as a lookout" Morgana chuckled as she joined the group. The cross on her Templar armour had been ripped off, and replaced by a small silver skull. "I may not be an Assassin, not yet, but I do have some training. Besides, I'd rather not see Elizabeth do the hempen jig at the deadly nevergreen." Tiago looked up at Morgana, confused by her words. "The gallows, pet. We don't want to see her hanging at the gallows." Tiago nodded in understanding, and turned to the brothers.
"So will I be coming with? Or do I have to be a stowaway."

Daniel walked in silence through the ship, trying his best to ignore the leers and remarks of the sailors around him. It was quite clear the crew had heard the Commodore's rant, but it was even more clear that only one line had stuck in their minds. As men groped themselves in front of the Captain, making gross sounds like the pigs they were, he had to sigh, walking down to the brig. He had bigger issues to deal with than a rumour spreading.

It was dark. Daniel looked around, and noticed the lamp had been put out. He let out yet another sigh as he made to get a candle from the upper deck, before returning the light the oil lamp. He held it high, and nodded, as he saw the pirate in her locked cell, the keys still on the beam. He took them, and attached them to his belt.

"You're lucky I don't have any sway over the Commodores decision here, pirate. I'd have you given the very same treatment as Blackbeard, cut at the neck and hung from the bowsprit. You're a damn fine captain, but an even finer murderer, if you ask me."

Daniel stood less than a few feet form the bars, his arms crossed, his bracer clearly seen on his forearm. He looked at it and sighed again, feeling himself deflate.

"You're an Assassin, right? I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions."

He was still surprised he'd never seen her at any of the dens, but then again he spent as much time there as he did in France; little to none.

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth sat in her cell, still smoking her pipe as she paged through the book. On each page, rested a beautiful drawing of each of her friends. There was a tearstained picture of her fight alongside Thatch, a picture of Rackham hanging at the gallows, a picture of Elizabeth crying as she held Hornigold's corpse in her arms. Elizabeth couldn't help but smile when she flicked to the back of the book, and stared at the only painted drawing in the book. It was a painting of Elizabeth sitting at the Old Avery at Nassau, surrounded by all her friends, and her husband. She couldn't help but smile at the the picture. Upon hearing someone enter the brig, Elizabeth looked up, and stared at the bracer on his arm.
"Cut off my head? Ha, that would be the day. In a one on one fight, you wouldn't last five minutes against me. Gunshot wound or no. You saw how I fought against the Commodore, with a gaping hole in my stomach. Nothing compared to what Thatch went through during his final battle, I can assure you." Elizabeth pulled her pendant from beneath her robes, and flashed her Master Assasin ring to Daniel. "I am an Assassin, aye, and a Master Assassin at that. Bureau leader of Nassau. What did you want to ask?" Elizabeth took another long drag from the pipe, and blew the smoke away from Daniel. She was trying to medicate the pain of her gunshot wound by smoking that wonderful plant known as weed. Not only was it easing the pain of the wound, but it was also helping her to relax. Elizabeth stood up and dusted herself off before she rested an arm over her stomach, protecting the wound. Should the captain make a move, she had nothing to defend herself with, save for the empty bottle of rum, her own body, and the vial of poison she kept hidden beneath the white strip of cloth that was always wound tightly around her breasts. She took up a slightly defensive stance, ready to attack should the captain try to kill her, or worse, have his way with her. The rumours hadn't reached her yet. She looked like a caged animal; wounded and growling in the face of an enemy, and waiting to be put down like some beast. Being the only woman on a ship filled with men, it was only natural for Elizabeth to be slightly afraid of any man that ventured into the brig, or "Hell" as she had affectionately named her new domain. Fancy that, Satan ruling over a small cell with nothing but rats and ghosts to keep her company.

Daniel had to think. He walked around the cell, down the small hallway that split up the rather large brig; Roger likely wouldn't admit it, but to get the Templars to fund the construction of the ship, he'd needed to add a few pieces of their choosing. The brig was one of them.

"If... If the person you cared for, one you admired and loved, if that person turned out to be... No, I have a better idea."

Daniel walked back and crouched down, setting the oil lamp down on the ground, exposing, rather gruesomely, a rat carcass in the cell next to hers. He rubbed his jaw, looking at her and nodding. He'd heard tales and rumours, but he was quite certain. He was one hundred percent certain, actually.

"When Hornigold turned to the Templars, to the British, how did you react? What did you do when the person you held above all others turned out to oppose you, and what you stood for?"

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

"I didn't feel anything. I had him work for the Templars so that I could keep a closer eye on Torres and the Templars, and learn things that I wouldn't learn otherwise. When I found out he became a pirate hunter, I almost killed him. Eventually I accepted his choice, but it took its toll on our relationship. Then I met my husband, Ben and I had a huge fight over information he had withheld from me, and I left him." Elizabeth looked down at the coat she was wearing, and smiled. "Besides, our relationship was more... Never mind." Elizabeth paced along in her cell, thinking of the captain's question. It bothered her that he knew about her and Hornigold. "How the hell do you know about Hornigold and me" Elizabeth asked as she took up her passive defence stance once again; her palm resting heavily on the wound in her stomach, and the twisted look on her face, showed that she was in a great deal of pain. But she knew the British didn't care for pirates, so she didn't mention anything. Instead, Elizabeth fell heavily against the cell wall, repacked the pipe, and lit it. "So you came to me, a mentally unstable woman deemed insane, for relationship advice? That's a relief. I thought I was going to be interrogated, or worse." Elizabeth looked at Daniel, and averted her gaze before she drew her hood. "Now I must ask you some questions, stranger. How long until we reach Port Royal? The sooner this mess is over, the better. Also, I don't suppose you would have some kind of a heart beating in that chest of yours, just enough to aquire some medical items for me, and a bottle of rum? If you say no, I understand. Brothers of the Creed never did like me, and they never let me forget that." Elizabeth found it odd that an Assassin, a man who is supposed to fight for freedom, seemed to despise one of his own, simply because she was a pirate. After all, pirates and Assassins were after the same thing; freedom. Her thinking was cut short when she felt a surge of pain, and slid down the wall. Elizabeth parted her robes ever so slightly, just enough to reveal the wound in her stomach. "Shit! An infection! At this rate, I'll be lucky if I live to see Port Royal" Elizabeth thought to herself as she examined the blackening wound. Elizabeth held her hand against the wound, and her neck snapped back as she let out a loud gasp of pain. "Just- Just try to be understanding, alright. Don't let your hatred destroy you, unless you want to end up like me... Rotting in a cell, awaiting execution" Elizabeth said in an extremely pained voice.

Upon hearing Tiago step out of the shadows, Damian grinned, and turned around. "Why..." He sId, crouching, in order to be near eye level with Tiago. "...You already won my respect - you are the stealthy type, aren't ya?" He quickly shook Tiago's hand, and said, "Perfectly fine with me - after all, they may be Brits, but they can't be so.... bastardly." He stood back up, and turned towards Morgana. "And, Morgana..." He said, walking a bit closer. "...you deserve to join with us." He grinned, and added, "Never seen a Templar be so... Willing to join. Should've seen how long it took me to get accepted myself." He walked over to a desk he added a few months ago, and pulled out a drawer filled with neckleces of fallen enemies - from Cannons, to Ships, to Succubi. Finally, Damian found one he was looking for, and scooped up one on the desk already. He pushed the drawer back in, and put on a necklace - one with a full, foamy and overflowing mug of beer. The one he had in his hand was a skull - one he stole off of a spaniard. "'Ere... figured this'll fit on ya." He handed her the necklace, and closed the cabinent he had opened earlier. "So, will you be on the ground, sneaking, or charging? Or will you be on the roofs with me?" He said to Morgana. Either position would have done - they needed more men on the roofs, however.

(Haha, succubi... Couldn't stop laughing. Yeah, the whole awkwardness of those two scenes in Assassin of the Black Flag. Succubus: Female sexual Demon...)

Morgana O'Riley

Morgana examined the small pendant that Damian had given her, and she hung it around her neck.
"Thank you, Damian." Morgana rested her hand on Merlin, her claymore, while stroking her chin in thought with the other. "I think I'll take the roofs" Morgana said calmly as she examined her rifle, Arthur, and made sure she had more than enough powder and shot. "I've shot rabbits from well over 30 meters away, while they were running from that rat" Morgana said confidently as she gestured to Devin. "He'll do his own part too. He can really get... under your skin." Tiago had run off to grab some weapons of his own, and was now standing at the door, waiting for a command to be given.

Damian turned to Tiago, and grinned, and said, "Reminds me of myself... just shorter and younger." He walked over to the boy, and said, kneeling, "Now, Tiago - you will be the only one with your job. What I need you to do - I need you to gather information, overhear guards, find out shifts if you can. And, any kills you can make without being noticed - take them. We need all the help we can gather, and you will be able to kill many undetectable, before the first drop of blood is spilt." He patted the boy on the shoulder, stood up, and turned back towards Morgana. "It's not a problem anyways. Got it from a Brit." He then grinned again, and said, "Say - think I should give 'Liz the Succubus necklace, as a joke? Might be brought near death, but - I think it's worth it."

Morgana O'Reilly

"Yes, sir" Tiago said with a nod before he set about sharpening his swords. Morgana seemed like she was about to burst at the seams with laughter.
"Oh aye, that'll be hysterical" Morgana said with a laugh as she wiped the tears from her eyes. "From what I can tell, she's mellowed out from when I first met her about four, maybe five years ago. But she's just as mad as ever. Did you know she tried to kill me with a fork?" Around a year after Elizabeth had been inducted into the Assassin Brotherhood, she spent the night at the tavern with Hornigold while the others were out at sea. Morgana made the mistake of mentioning the couple, and that they should acquire a room. How Morgana managed to escape still remains a mystery.

(Alright - I typed a freaking two-page worthy thing, and then my tablet [phones are too small] just went "OHP LOOKIT THAT YOU JUST FINISHED HERE LET ME FREEZE AND DELETE ALL OF IT. YOU'RE WELCOME.", and it is painful to type that much. Long story short - Damian said he'll get the Succubuss necklace, had to decide between two, picked the bigger breasted one, then opened up the cabinet and took out a 12th to 13th century bit-rusted steel helmet, found on the same site his sword was on. Like - it was over 500 words, and my thumbs hurt now. He also commented on about how it is likely Elizabeth would attempt murder with a fork, and also the helmet was a little bit tight on his head, but not too much - and he compared the helmet to Morgana's head, but the helmet was too large.)

Morgana O'Reilly

Morgana looked at the big breasted pendant, and smiled.
"The resemblance is uncanny" Morgana laughed. She remembered the few days at Nassau, before Elizabeth tried to kill her with a fork, but ended up stabbing her in the left boob. "I figured there's more than one reason they called her a Demon. The way Hornigold was always grinning like a cat, I figured she must have been one hell of a woman in the sheets. To be honest, I was a bit jealous of Hornigold. So I stole a kiss, and got hounded out of Nassau. But it was worth it." Morgana tapped her armour, and looked around her, trying to avoid any ensuing awkwardness. "Well, let's get going, don't want to miss the execution."

Daniel sighed. He'd gotten an answer, but not the answer he'd wanted. He stood up, taking the lamp with him. He made way back to the stairs, blowing out the lamp before tossing it to the ground. He looked through the darkness, seeing the faint outline of the pirate in her cage.

"We'll be there soon. And I'll have the cabin boy bring down some medical supplies for you."

With that he made way upstairs, sighing to himself as he thought about where they were headed. He was going to have to get back to his own ship soon. Probably going to have to meet with Ah Tabai, of all people, and find out what to do now. It was best he chose one route, and Assassins seemed to be the route best for him.

---

Much time passed, as the Commodore sat alone in his room. Before long, he'd written out letters to every major Templar and British officer in the Caribbean, and already sent half of them out over the waters with ships of the fleet that had gone their own way. He now sat with two letters left, one for the Governor of Port Royal, and one for the head of the Order sect there. He wasn't sure either would reach their targets, but he knew that Elizabeth would be in a cell for at least a day. That'd give him time.

"Sir! Com'dore! Port sigh'ed, we're 'ere!"

Stodd looked up at his cabin boy in the doorway and nodded, standing up. He took a long breath, as he told the young boy what to do.

"Go down to the brig. Bring the pirate up. I'll escort her to the fort."

He made his way out to the deck, watching as the port came closer and closer. The crew was weary, but excited. A few of them would be able to watch the next few days events.

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth had been medicating her wound since Daniel had had some supplies sent down to her. She seemed to be winning her battle against the infection, but it didn't really matter to her anymore since it was inevitable that she was going to meet with the end of a rope sometime soon.

Elizabeth was blinded by the light as she was hauled onto the deck. While the fresh air was a blessing, the light was a curse. For a brief moment, she spied Anto at the docks. He gave her a small nod, and disappeared back into the crowd that had gathered to see the Demon. The number of names shouted at her was quite astonishing. Beelzebub, Demon, Devil, Lilith, Lucifer, Satan, Siren, Wench, Whore. Those were only a few of the names she heard as she was led through the town. Some Assassins were doing damage control, and removing some of the more aggressive townsfolk from the immediate area. She heard a familiar name, crocodile. At that point, she knew that there were some of the less understanding Assassins nearby.
"Tartaruga!" Elizabeth looked to where the familiar voice had come from, and smiled as she saw Tiago before he disappeared into the crowd.
"So when is my scheduled execution, or when do I meet with one of your Order" Elizabeth asked the Commodore in a quiet voice.

Ah Tabai

Ah Tabai had been moving through the crowd, sticking as close to Elizabeth and the Commodore as he possibly could. He was trying to get close enough to Elizabeth to deliver a letter, without being seen, but it proved too difficult. He handed the letter to Tiago, and watched as the boy slipped through the crowd, and slid the letter into Elizabeth's pocket. Nobody took notice of the boy as he delivered the letter, and returned to his place in the trees.

At some point, Ah Tabai managed to get close enough to Daniel to grab him, and pull him into the crowd.

"Captain Daniel Whitehorn? We need to talk, now! Come with me" Ah Tabai said angrily as he dragged Daniel off to the bureau.

Roger didn't like the crowds. They were never a good thing, especially in a situation like this. If they broke into a riot he'd have to order men to hold civilians at gunpoint, and lord knew that wouldn't be a good experience. He let out a low sigh, and looked over his shoulder at the pirate as she spoke. He looked forward again, speaking.

"I don't know what you men are doing, but you need to tighten formation."

The soldiers and guards around the pirate moved in, closing the gaps. No one would get through them now without brushing right past them, and drawing their attention. Roger looked up as he made way into the fort, through the stone gates. They were waiting for them.

"The Governor will decide your fate. You're going to be sent to the gaols, and there you will wait for your fate. Be it at the hand of the noose, or the hand of an officer."

He looked back at her, stern faced, as she was taken down to the lower levels. Stodd sighed and turned to face Daniel. When he saw no one, he quickly returned to the group, knowing full well something was amiss.

"Two of you, go to the Governors office to meet the men I sent there. We need to get news of her fate as soon as plausible. You two, wait at the docks. I've sent men to meet with a friend of mine in the nearby plantations. They'll come back with a letter. Bring it to me."

With that, four of the six guards went off, leaving only the Commodore and his two large, brutish companions, carrying large axes. He walked beside the pirate, and frowned before making his way to the head of the group. A guard held out a ring of keys for them, and Roger took them, heading as far into the cells as possibles. He found the room with a number of other guards and nodded, unlocking the nearest cell and pushing Elizabeth into it.

"I'm going to be keeping watch on you for now, pirate. I hope you don't mind."

He looked around at the many guards, sighing. He'd heard about the recent breakout after docking. The place would be on watch for weeks now.

---

"Ah Tabai! Let me go! I may be your inferior in the Creed, but I'm by far your superior when I'm not wearing a white cloak!"

He didn't fight too hard, of course. Judging by the anger of the Mayan, he'd be stabbed if he tried to fight too much. He expected this would have something to do with Elizabeth; assassins were good at getting information above all else, and the information on his involvement with that battle wasn't exactly hard to get.

Elizabeth "Demon" Shay

Elizabeth sat on the cold stone floor of her new cell, and looked up at the Commodore. Of all the cells she could have been cast into, she had to be cast into Read's old cell. By that point, Elizabeth had caught wind of the relation between the Commodore and the Captain.
"To be honest, Commodore, I would prefer that. Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't. Besides, I figure you won't try anything with me" Elizabeth said calmly as she took out the small jar of the remaining disinfectant, and saw to her wound. "So now I just sit around, and wait for news of my execution? No trial or anything?" She thought of Mary Read, and wondered how Read's daughter was doing. How was Bonny? What was happening with Vane?

Ah Tabai

"Do not insult me, Whitehorn" Ah Tabai growled, sounding extremely annoyed. "You have turned your back on a sister of the Creed! She is not your enemy, yet you treat her as such! She has fought for freedom every day of her life. She is a pirate! Not a Templar!" Anto handed Ah Tabai his spear, and bowed respectfully to the Mentor of the Carribean. "Explain yourself" Ah Tabai roared as he pointed his spear at Daniel. He was just about ready to kill Daniel at any second. He had already lost one of his "daughters", and now he was about to lose the other. His anger stemmed solely from his pain and worry. They all knew that, and they all understood that.

"Calm your blasted self down! Ah Tabai, how do you treat those who storm across these lands and make ruins of the wonders here? The established cultures of the realm? You fight them back. If an Assassins came here bearing the rank of Conquistador, would you not end him before you helped him? A pirate Assassin is a pirate before they are an Assassin. I know you have some, twisted love for these criminals and murders, but all they do is bring fear and travesty to the Caribbean. For as long as these pirates sail freely, merchants fear the waters. Unless they sell out, and swear themselves to the Assassins just as the merchants of Spain and Britain do with their Empires, they are simply not safe. I am a Captain of the Royal Navy. It is my duty to bring justice in its name, and Elizabeth has been tempting that justice for a long time. The same goes for Kenway, and every other blasted pirate out there that bears our symbol."

Daniel felt his chest rising and falling after he spoke, looking the Mayan in his eyes. He'd grown tired, and he was especially tired of the relationship the pirates and Assassins had. It was just nonsensical, in his eyes, that people who took prisoners and killed innocents were in some way better than the exact same type of people.

"Besides, the Commodore's trying to see to it that the woman is inducted into the Templar Order. Lord knows they'll enjoy that. He might even turn her into a member of his crew."

---

"No need for a trial. As far as the British crown is concerned, you're a criminal. You'll have your rights read to you before they let loose the gallows, if you're lucky."

He didn't exactly like the whole set up. He'd prefer to just pirates tossed overboard and left to drown, rather than the whole 'let this be a lesson' jargon. It never seemed to work; Thatch's death saw a rise in piracy in response, if anything.

"It shouldn't be long though. I've already sent word to my affiliates. If they consider my proposal worth exploring, then you'll be escorted out before sunset."
