Background/Biography:Born to Marina and Fedor Volkov, Nadya grew up in Kiev and was practically raised with a rifle in her hand. Her father had been a hunter before the rise of the Bolsheviks, and while he never told Nadya as much, fought for the Assassins as well. The two were particularly close and he taught her some of what he knew - particularly how to aim a gun. She was close friends with another girl, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, and the two found common ground in their love of history and rifles. They both attended school together and when German forces invaded the Soviet Union, they were among the first volunteers (despite protests from Nadya’s father).
The pair quickly became famed sharpshooters, rising through the ranks in the Red Army with 78 confirmed kills. Nadya was on the road to becoming a hero, but it didn’t seem to be the path destined for her. She was sent behind enemy lines during the Siege of Leningrad when she was pinned down by mortar fire, unable to get back to her allies. As she tried to escape, Germans cut her off and she was captured. She was taken to a classified German camp where Nazi scientists were experimenting on the prisoners. While she was there, she was subjugated to the first rounds of experimentation, leaving her with several scars and injuries. She was freed by Assassins who were searching the compound for Pieces of Eden but to the rest of the world, Nadya Volkova was gone.
After seeing the horrors committed at her prison, Nadya demanded to know more about what she saw. She was surprised to see her father among the ranks of the mysterious Assassins, who explained to her their century-long struggle with the Templars. Fedor told her that he wanted a relatively normal life for Nadya and had kept his allegiance a secret though this caused something of a rift between the two. Officially being considered MIA, Nadya realized her unique position to strike from the shadows, able to go wherever she needed to in order to hunt down the enemies of Russia. Nadya pledged to help the Assassins to bring down those harnessing artifacts for their own purposes, though her loyalty remains first and foremost to Russia.
