Boston Blood

Walking pompously in the lively part of Boston's streets with a walking stick in hand, Marcus Williams began receiving glares of disgust from the people around, just as he planned. By drawing attention to himself, Marcus might have an easier time spotting his bastard assassination target.

'Rule number one,' Marcus thought to himself. 'A guilty man wouldn't bother to care about his surroundings if he's more preoccupied on what'll happen to him.'

Thinking that he already had enough attention, Marcus stopped and looked around, trying to see if someone was acting strange or fidgety. To his disappointment, Marcus saw nothing but annoyed men and women.

Marcus sighed and thought to himself, 'Might as well join those chaps in the inns then.'

Putting his walking stick aside, Marcus decided to blend in with the crowd and walk towards the nearest inn.

Henry had just finished off his last target. after staring into the dead corpses eyes for a moment, henry reached into his pouch and placed a pink rose on his chest.

Its time for a drink, henry thought to himself.

Upon entering the nearest inn, he noticed a rather odd man inside. He was not a typical Boston citizen.
Henry decided to find out more, and approached the man

"What's a fancy man like you doing here? You don't exactly, blend in."

Henry waited for the mans reply.

"What's a fancy man like you doing here? You don't exactly, blend in.", a voice from behind Marcus spoke up.

Marcus turned around and saw a tall man with an odd scar across his cheek. Without further ado, Marcus replied

"Hah, trying to look for an old friend in one of these inns. Seems he's still the same fool though, not telling me which inn I was supposed to go.", Marcus replied as he paid the innkeeper for some ale

"'Bout you, chap? You sure look dress differently from the common folk."

Henry was starting to like this man, which was rare.

"I'm not exactly... up to date... with popular interest." Henry said awkwardly. "so what does this friend look like? Maybe He and I have already meet?"

Henry tried to avoid eye contact, and waited for a reply.

Marcus made a small smile, shook his head, and took a huge gulp of ale and wiped his mouth with his coat.

"It's been years since we last met; who knows what the man looks like now.", he replied, directing all of his attention towards the other person.

Marcus may not know who the man is, but he's pretty relieved to have found someone comfortable, or maybe easy, to talk to.

"The name's Marcus, by the way, Marcus Williams. May I have the opportunity of knowing yours?", Marcus asked as he gave his hand for a handshake.

Henry smiled, this man was avoided his questions. Something he would do to keep his own secrets.

"Names Henry. No need for last names here mate."

Henry hoped the man would not be suspicious, but decided it was best to keep as little from the man as possible.

"What will you two..... fine.... gentleman be drinking?" The barkeeper asked the two men whilst staring at their oddities.

"Bring me a warm meal and some rum, so will he." Henry said, pulling out some coin to ay for the two meals

Marcus was surprised by Henry's sudden generosity, considering that they only met a few minutes ago. Is Henry playing a card here, or is he just interested in making friends with him? Marcus just let out a small smile, shook his head, and let Henry did his business.

While waiting, Marcus decided to take one last look around the inn, examining each person within the vicinity. Nothing. Marcus was getting irritated by this and decided to start his search in another inn.

Just as he was about to turn around start up another conversation with Henry, Marcus saw someone go in through the door; it was Conner Rodgers, his assassination target.

'About bloody time did the bastard finally show up.', Marcus thought and stood up, turning towards Henry.

"Save me some of the rum Henry, I think I just saw my ol' friend.", Marcus said and proceeded walking towards his target calmly.

Henry noticed his new friend's head look about the room. Suddenly Marcus arose, telling henry he had spotted his friend.
Henry looked about, when he noticed Conner Rodgers enter the room. Much to his disgust, he knew that Marcus would be slaughter if he didn't act. And for some reason, he had taken a small liking to this odd fellow.

"Markus! Wait! Look, I know that man and he will slaughter you if you do not act wisely! I can help you. I know everything about that man and without my knowledge you might never make it out of this tavern!"

Henry waited for a reply, as his friend began to sit down again.

Marcus heeded Henry's warning and sat down almost immediately. It was almost unfortunate for Marcus, as his new acquaintance knew who Conner was, but Marcus guessed that it was normal for both Templars and Assassins to have similar acquaintances, that acquaintance being Henry.

"What do you mean I won't make it out of this tavern? As if you're telling me that he's a murderer.", Marcus pointed out.

'Well, of course he's a murderer, he's a bloody Templar.', Marcus thought to himself and planned on keeping it to himself as well.

His new friend threw about the word murderer so loosely, so foolishly. Henry was already starting to regret helping this man, but he was the only man he had ever felt comfortable with. He had to save him.

"look, I'm part of an order. And that man there is a very dangerous man. I can help you deal with him." Henry said cautiously, hoping Conner Rodgers could not hear.

"firstly, why are you contacting him? Do you mean to kill him? Who are you really?"

Marcus was taken back by how much Henry knew so much about Conner and how he describes him to be a very dangerous man. However, Marcus saw the Henry's intention to help him and decided to answer his questions. In his personal way, that is.

"First off, he contacted me, not the other way around. Second, why would I kill an old friend? Even if it has been a couple of years since he and I last met. And third, I am Marcus Williams, heir to the aristocrat name."

'Hold on.', Marcus thought, 'Henry's a part of an order...?'

Those last thought lingered in Marcus' head while waiting for his acquaintance to speak.

Henry knew he had blown it, but he hoped there was still a way to help Marcus. He saw him as a new friend, and a strong potential ally.

"Look mate, tell me everything about you. I don't want this to end with any of our bodies in the alley."

Henry instantly regrated phrasing it as such. Marcus could have seen it as a threat, when truly it was a sincere gesture.

Marcus flinched a bit and looked straight at Henry's eyes, hoping that he wasn't kidding about his statement, despite its lack of... finesse.

Marcus spoke up, "You weren't kidding that he was dangerous, eh? Ah, time really does change a man."

Marcus wanted to be open to Henry and tell him everything, but there's this pulling feeling in his gut that tells him not to. Getting a bit conflicted and cautious, Marcus had spun a story.

"Conner wrote me a letter a few weeks back, it said that he was interested in seeing the riches I've piled up here in the colonies. It was unusual for the chap to ask such a thing, so I decided to leave my riches elsewhere and meet up with him in one of here inn.", Marcus explained. "Now that you've told me that he has turned into quite the violent man, I'm starting to have second thoughts on his intentions."

Marcus waited for Henry's words, hoping that he would piece up what Marcus was trying to say. If all goes well, Marcus would finally have a close ally.

Desperately wanting to keep Marcus as a friend, or the closest he's ever had to one, Henry offered his support
"Look, why don't you go along and meet him, while I hide and watch, if things get hairy, I can intervene?"
Henry could felt a slight hint of deception with Marcus, but decided to ignore it due to his good company, and the fact that he was the only man to treat him with respect.
"Sound like a plan?"
He eagerly waited for his new friends reply

"A plan it is.", Marcus replied with a smile. Finally, Marcus had someone to rely on and vice versa. The only thing left to do is to dispose of Conner Rodgers and open up his secrets to Henry.

"Stand by wherever necessary, I'll close in with the ol' chap.", Marcus said and grabbed his walking stick.

Carefully walking towards Conner, Marcus couldn't help but feel that something might go wrong, even though nothing seems to be wrong. Marcus decided to keep that factor in him as he slowly stood at Conner's side.

Henry couldn't help but feel a genuine smile crawl across his face. He liked this plan, and he liked the idea of him finagling feeling Rodger's filthy, warm blood on his face. Patting his bag of roses, he stood up as Marcus grabbed his walking stick.
Henry slowly morphed into the crowd, invisible to any watching eyes, yet giving him a complete view of Conner and his new partner.
He watched, waiting for Markus's move.

Marcus was already within striking range and can take Conner out easily, but after hearing Henry's report, Marcus couldn't help but wait for a sign from Henry to finally strike Conner down.

'I've wasted a good amount of time looking for this chap, I might as well take this opportunity than to wait.', Marcus convinced himself and walked slowly towards Conner, readying his hidden blade.

Henry saw the ignorance in his partners eyes as he walked towards Conner. His eyes flicked to the target. He saw the same ignorance in Conner's eyes as he stared at Markus. This was bad.
Henry refused to let Markus die, so he devised a plan.
Smoothly taking a flintlock from a neighbouring drunkard, he hastily walked to to Markus.
"Strike when I fire."
Henry merged back into the crowd before his friend could even reply. He pointed the gun to the roof and squeezed.
BANG
The bar silenced. Everyone peered over to Henry, Conner included.
He had given Markus a chance, He hoped he was smart enough to play out his plan.

'What is that madman doing?', Marcus thought to himself as he turned around to see Henry holding a flintlock in his hands. Unfortunately, Marcus didn't get to hear what Henry had to say a while back.

Henry finally pulled the trigger and shot the inn's ceiling, grabbing everybody's attention. Seeing that even Conner was distracted, Marcus eventually figured out what Henry was planning.

"Say your prayers.", Marcus whispered behind Conner and drove his hidden blade at Conner's heart.

Everything seemed to have slowed down.

Henry smiled at the sight.
But he had no time to savor the moment. The silence broke.
"GUARDS!" A woman yelled with fear.
Henry quickly ran towards Conner Rodgers now lifeless body, where Markus was standing. Placing a pink rose on Rodger's corspe, Henry spoke.
"It's you and me now brother. The guards will be looking for us. I can keep some off of us, but we best make haste!"
Henry ran for the door, hoping his friend was behind him. Suddenly two of Conner's men blocked the door, sword in hand, they spoke "STAND DOWN!"
Henry looked back at Markus and smiled. Time for some fun.

Looking at the mess he and Henry have made, Marcus knew that they have to escape right away. Marcus looked at the running Henry and saw him make a smile, a sinister one at that.

Marcus knew what the smile meant and shouted, "There is no need for them to die, Henry! What we need to do is escape and hide!"

Marcus then pulled out a smoke bomb and threw it at the ground, making sure he won't be affected by it. Seeing that everybody was groggy, Marcus made a run towards Henry, grabbed his arm, and ran out of the inn.

Henry heard a shout, it sounded like Marcus, but he couldn't decipher it a flash of smoke blocked henry's view. Suddenly he felt his arm being yanked away and knew to run. As he made his way out of the smoke, out of the inn, he saw his friend's face.
"I am weak at parkour, my friend. You escape via the rooftops, I will disappear into the marketplace. Meet me at the Green Dragon Tavern in 2 hours."

Henry nodded and waited for what Marcus had to say
