John Albot Hargreeves a.k.a Spring-Heeled Jack Empty
PostSubject: John Albot Hargreeves a.k.a Spring-Heeled Jack   John Albot Hargreeves a.k.a Spring-Heeled Jack EmptySat Apr 21, 2018 7:05 am

Name : John Albot Hargreeves a.k.a Spring-Heeled Jack
Age : 18
Affiliation : Rogue Assassin

Personality:
Hargreeves revels in his indifference and acts cold to the suffering of innocent people and of other’s opinions of his methods. Dauntlessly claiming that he is the only Assassin to understand the true meaning behind their creed’s maxim, he aims to continually strike fear into the hearts of society, for it is the only way for him to determine who was actually living and who was just wasting their lives away. Loathing the idea of peace and order, Hargreeves is more than willing to tip the scales towards anarchy if it meant that everyone would be able to live freely. Freedom, to his understanding, is living without fear. He enjoys the prospect of facing death, believing that anyone of worth is one who has conquered their fear of dying. An inventive individual with sadistic traits, Hargreeves is as unpredictable as he is deadly.

Appearance:
Hargreeves has a tall and slender physique. His eyes are tired, somewhat baggy, with dark circles around them. He has long, choppy black hair which he colored white at the tips. His attire consists of a pair of white gloves on his hands, a long trench black coat that reaches past his knees over black fitting pants and leather boots. On his neck, he wears a white cravat. While out as Spring Heeled Jack, he would add a white mask to his attire. It is designed to look like an owl, with big goggly glass eyes and a small beak that also functions as an air filter. He made the mask using New Magnesium based alloys, which has the highest strength-to-weight ratio known to mankind. He would also incorporate light armor for extra endurance and a utility belt to hold his various weapons and gadgets.

Strengths:
Hargreeves is an agent of chaos, a different class of Assassin. Profoundly dangerous and wildly unorthodox, he will go up against anybody in the most horrific of ways without holding anything back. He doesn’t care about money, power, respect, fame, or even his own life. He is merely in it for the thrill and the attention. As they say, how do you beat a man with nothing to lose?

Weaknesses:
Hargreeves does not commit his crimes and attrocities because he wants to accumulate wealth or glory. He does not do any of it out of anger nor fear. He doesn’t even seek to adress any past wrongs, whether it be real or imaginary. He does what he does just for the sake of it. A man with nothing to lose is also a man with nothing to offer, this lack of ambition or drive makes him his own liability. His hunger for attention is also a prime catalyst for his recklessness, making him do needless dangerous things when he is ignored.

Background/Biography:
The existence of Spring-Heeled Jack dates as far back as the 19th century. Reports first came in Sheffield, England which then spread further to the US. This appariton was a mystery to all as people were not certain if the figure was a man or a beast. Witnesses report him having long, sharp and metallic claws. His eyes had a crazy look to them and they burned red unlike any red that they have seen before. Whenever the townsfolk tried to catch him, he would easily get away, jumping through fences, running quickly down crowded alleways, and dissappearing into the night as if he were never there in the first place. As his tale began to gain attention, his attributes became more sinister and demonic. Recent reports say that he was now able to breath fire and had horns. Well, one thing is for sure: Whether man or beast, Spring-Heeled Jack was never caught.

The truth is, Spring-Heeled Jack was not just one person, they were a group of people. It all started when a Master Assassin from Sheffield, Sir Jack King, came up with a different interpretation of the creed’s maxim. He believed that to truly be free we must first break the chains of fear that were bounding us. This idea of his caught the attention of other assassins, like-minded people who felt the same way as him. Fear was a limitation, therefore it will always keep them from attaining what they all really want, freedom. With a handful of men, Sir Jack King launched a new training regime, one that would give birth to a special new breed of assassins. They were fearless, deadly, and free.

The training regime was brutal. He would put people in a situation where they would have to make a choice from two bad options. The purpose of this was to erase all doubt, the fear to make the wrong choice. King also dosed the assassins with ‘fear’ toxins, forcing them to face off against their worst fears inside their minds. This would go on for three years, if they were to remain sane and lived through all of it, then they were officially part of the new and improved assassins.

These assassins were known for wearing special masks that could produce fire from a special contraption hidden beneath their long black cloaks, fun parlor tricks to incite fear. Their hidden blades were modified to act as a glove with metallic claws attached to each fingers and their boots were added some mechanism that would allow them to jump two stories tall. Most of their errands were carried out at night, they would go after people who were wasting away their lives because they still feared something. They would approach them and inject them with ‘fear’ toxins, making them see visions of demons when it was actually just a man in a mask and black cloak. If they were able to go through this trial and overcome it, then the assassins would leave them alone, deeming them worthy to keep their lives. If they fail and go insane, then death was the only option.  These masked assassins became known as the Spring-Heeled Jacks, a fitting name.

Unfortunately, the rest of the creed caught wind of what they were doing. They did not agree with their methods and beliefs, to them it was something that only a madman would conceive. So a crackdown was executed, many of the Spring-Heeled Jacks were slaughtered or exiled in the process, but a few remained. Those who survived still operates to this very day as an insurgent group, working in the night, striking fear into those who were unlucky enough to face them. Among them is a man named John Albot Hargreeves and his story is just beginning.
