The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptySat Oct 27, 2018 11:04 pm

Michael found himself in what other people considered a dusty tomb, but to him was a marvel of ancient architecture. The untrained eye only saw a primitive long dead civilization but in reality it was an advanced culture that had constructed buildings that will outlast their modern brothers. A people who had most likely forgotten more about their world than modern man had yet to learn. To an archeologist, older did not mean dumber but was in fact quite the opposite. And that was what Michael is.

He may not have gotten here the way he had envisioned when he was a child, but he had gotten here nonetheless. The Templars had stolen his chance to be a professor but the Assassins had given him the world. They had shown him that the history he had learned was a lie and desperate acts must be done to restore it. That was the very reason he was now in what had been the home of his Haitian brothers centuries ago.

He had just recently learned of this location from an 18th century Templar dispatch that a fellow Assassin had discovered. It had requested troops for an assault on the temple at Saint-Domingue. While it never fell, it was eventually abandoned and now Michael was searching for any artifacts that they may have left behind. The search of the easy to access upper level rooms had proved fruitless as did the tour of most of the lower. That brings him here, outside a massive door made of solid stone.

Michael removed a brush from his bag and cleaned the dust and dirt from the surface. This revealed a series of intricate sun inspired etchings that connected a trio of baseball sized gemstones. Needing some more light, Michael brought out a flashlight and began examining the portal more closely. The beam revealed nothing extraordinary until it struck one of the crystals. The jewel instantly appeared to glow with its own light. Curiously, Michael would do the same to the other two and received the same result. He realized that the must be the key to opening the chamber.

The Assassin first tried stepping back and widening the lights beam in order to hit all the crystals at once. Nothing. He then tried shining his light on each one as fast as he could. Still nothing, despite the multitude of patterns he tried. He leaned against the door in frustration as he felt the urge to simply blow the door. “No, not again!” he screamed as he clutched his head and sank to the ground with his back to the barrier.

The world began to fade away as he felt his ancestor from the Wild West take over. While Mason was perhaps the best fighter of his lineage, his complete lack of tact could destroy whatever precious treasure lay beyond the gateway. From the shadows of his mind he could feel his left hand reaching for the small explosive he kept in his bag for emergencies. With all the willpower he could muster, he swam up from the depths to take control of his right arm in order to grab the opposite one. “This is my body Hee-Haw! I am in control!”

All of the sudden, Michael was back in the temple. He pulled himself back to his feet and eye level with the uppermost crystal. He allowed his gaze to wonder and noticed a loose rock in line with the gem. The rock was out of reach, so he loaded a dart into the launcher beside his hidden blade and launched it at the pebbles just below the boulder. It fell to the ground and a beam of light it the crystal and the glow was more intense than ever. A quick look around would reveal two more rocks and repeated the same process as earlier.

A blinding light erupted from the door before it slid downwards and out of sight. Beyond it was a massive open chamber with a set of crumbling stairs lining the walls that led to a platform above. He would make it about halfway before the stairs began crumbling. He was forced to run and jump to the remaining solid set steps before he fell to his death. The jump was barely successful as he went short and was left dangling from the bottom step. After he pulled himself up, he cursed for the thousandth time that he hadn't absorbed the parkour skills of his ancestor. His journey was not over as he was forced to climb 121 feet with only cracks as handholds.

Once at the top, he had to jump blindly backwards to reach the platform and almost overrolled off of the platform. The platform was still not the end point as led to a ladder. A tired Michael climbed the ladder and found himself in a treasure room. The true treasure wasn't the gold and jewels arranged around the room but a book sitting on a podium. Michael leafed through it and realized it was a record of Assassin bloodlines that stretched for centuries before the 1700’s. This was an amazing tome that could help fill in gaps in the Assassin’s history. He through the volume in his bag and began looking for a way out, other than the way he came.

He was no closer to finding an exit after minutes of looking as he had been when be first entered. With no obvious exit, he knew his brothers had hidden one in a way that only they could see. Michael closed his eyes and focused his mind before opening them again. Everyone of his senses came to life, allowing him to hear the ocean through a wall, smell the tree though gaps that revealed a hidden door, and ultimately see the wear on bricks that revealed the ones that were used to open it. The door led Michael to the top of the temple and to the world outside.

He paused to enjoy the view before jumping down to a ledge below, only for it to give away and send Michael painfully tumbling down the exterior of the building. He would climb to his feet and be greeted by a group of Templar rifle barrels pointed at him. “So this is the famous Scholar, I am far from impressed” spoke a man who must have been the squad leader.

Michael dusted off his hands and smiled sheepishly. “I’m having a bad day. First I had to deal with crumbling architecture and now there is a vermin problem. My day just keeps getting worse.”

“I can improve it, Mr Sheridan. Just hand over the artifact and you can come back with us to Abstergo. Mr Cullen would be most pleased to have you.”

Michael knew the damage the Templars would cause of they had the book. He could not let that happen, no matter what the cost. He contemplated the best way to destroy it when he saw something that changed his mind. “Tell the bastard that I have other plans, but I promise to see him again on my own time.”

The Templar’s response was a wet gurgle as a blade came flying out of the trees and into the side of his neck. Before the other men had time to act, an Assassin came falling from the sky and onto two men. This spurred Michael into action as he released his blade and stuck it under the chin of the nearest man. As the short fight raged, the difference in styles between the two Assassins became apparent. Whereas the new Assassin was graceful as they flipped around slicing their targets with a series of hidden blades, Michael was just simple brutality as he beat and stabbed his enemies. The other Assassin had also taken out double the men Michael had.

“That was awfully close, mon amour.” scolded the hooded Assassin.

Michael let loose with a mischievous smile. “I knew you had my back, my rose. You are too attached to me.”

The Assassin removed her hood to reveal a gorgeous redhead. “That's why I want to keep your head attached to your neck.” With that she kissed her husband. “Was this worth the risk?”

Michael pulled the book out of his bag. “That and so much more. With this we can save so many lives and learn so much. Let's get back to the Orn so I can get started on researching this. We have a lot of work ahead of us.”

The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyMon Oct 29, 2018 8:56 am

"How are the prisoners doing, mister Lavere?"
"Subject 23 won't stop crying, which is starting to get on our nerves, and subject 34 is still as wild as when she was brought in. She's killed everyone we've sent in so far." The older gentleman watched the feed of a young woman with white hair screaming like a banshee as she fought off a scientist. If they could somehow control her, they would have a powerful and ancient bloodline under their control. The problem was that subject 34 was well aware of her exactly who her ancestors were, and how valuable her bloodline was.

"Subject 34! Stand down!"
"No! Never! I've seen what you people do! I've been through this before, I'm not going to let it happen again" Katherine roared angrily before she began to fight this new man. The first time they had her, they continuously forced her to relive her ancestor's death just for failing to meet a deadline. She was terrified of what they would do if they knew of another ancestor, a powerful Assassin from Egypt. She just knew she had to get out of there, and she had to take the girl in the cell next door with her.

Ffion was curled up in the corner of her cell, clutching a rather old and ratty stuffed bear close to her chest as she sobbed violently. She never understood why the Templars had wanted her so much, all they ever said was that her bloodline was special. One of the nurses arrived and quickly took a blood sample before disappearing once again.

"How are we ever going to put her to use if she's stuck like this?" The overseer looked to the elderly man with a small smile.
"Patience, sir. We'll have them obeying our every command eventually. Nobody knows they're here, and nobody cares. 23 doesn't officially exist, and 34 is a murderess, neither of them will be missed." The elderly gentleman watched the white haired woman kill yet another scientist, and let out a sigh.
"That may be true, but remember that 34 is the daughter of Dimitri Romanov, the current leader of the Bratva. Let's not forget she was romantically involved with two former Mentors of the New York Assassins, Calum Butcher, Ryan Redfield, and Calum's brother Michael, a former Templar. The Assassins will likely be looking for her."

Katherine figured that with any luck, someone would eventually come for her. She couldn't keep fighting forever, but that didn't mean she wouldn't try.

The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyMon Oct 29, 2018 12:34 pm

Explosives erupted and Michael went flying in shower of rocks. While the stones shedded his flesh, the explosion had the fortunate side effect of throwing out of the way of a hail of bullets. Michael forced himself to his feet as the screeching in his ears gave way to the bangs of and screams of combat. All around him, good men were torn apart by the grenades and bullets coming from a pillbox 100 yards ahead of him. He burst into action and weaved his way towards his target. The Maschinengewehr 34 turned its attention back to Michael and he traded the enemy’ life for his own as he rolled directly in front of a German soldier who was promptly cut in half by the bullets meant for Michael. The Assassin had no time to rest and he finished his roll with a leap into a nearby crater.

Michael raised to one knee and brought his Thompson to bear and released a series of bursts into the nearby troops. He hurled a couple of grenades at a couple of men encroaching on his allies which also distracted the heavy gunner. Michael used this opportunity to run across the battlefield again, slicing a pair of troops that came to close with his combat knife. A few more bursts from his submachine gun emptied it as he cleared the way to the door of the fortification. Michael quickly picked the lock before throwing a couple of smoke bombs into the small room. He focused his Eagle Vision before diving in. He ended a dive in a roll that allowed him to take out the first man with his hidden blade before spinning around with his 1911 to unload on the other. Michael rushed to one of the MG 34’s and unloaded on every enemy he could see.

With the battle seemingly over, Michael finally allowed the horror to seek in. There were bodies of friends and foes alike. War really tested the Tenant of “Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent”. Most of these men were innocents until their leaders had called them to action. Will anybody ever be innocent again, Michael wondered this as be stepped out of the pillbox seconds before a bullet tore through his right shoulder……..

“We have a hit on one of the entries in the lineage, boss man.” came the call over the intercom that awoke Michael. The Assassin reflexively rubbed his shoulder before grabbing a few Aspirin and Haloperidol that he promptly washed down with his beer. “Screw you, Marcel” Michael spat at his World War 2 ancestor as he glanced at the clock and realized that he had dozed off for a few hours. He warely grabbed the handset and answered the call. “Thank you Charlie, I'll be right up.”

A few minutes later, Michael was walking into the communication room housed in the former cargo hold of the Orn. The room was full of servers, ateneas, and cooling systems for the vessel’s massive computer systems. Sitting behind the sea of monitors that was the main computer, was the former Abstergo IT specialist Charlie Stephens. With her porcelain skin and gothic style, her beauty was second only to the other woman in the room. Nicole Bonnet-Sheridan was a stunning redhead who could have been a model if she hadn't been born into the Brotherhood. Michael kissed his bride before turning to the computer expert. “What have you got?”

Charlie’s fingers moved in a blur that the two Assassins could barely keep up with. The keystrokes brought forth information that filled everyone of the screens before he. The center most displayed the photo of a young woman with striking red hair. “I ran the names in the book through public records and found a few promising leads. I then ran facial recognition scans of those leads and had my first hit.” Charlie pointed to the screen. “This is Ffion Rees of Wales. She belongs one of the longest lineages and my program found footage of what appears to be a six year old Ffion in New York.” With that, she typed again and a video of a young girl being pulled from a car trunk before being injected with a needle dominated the main screen. “This is years old and I am searching for something more recent, but she needs our help boss.

Michael didn't even need to think it over. “You're right she does. Have Thomas reach out to his contacts in the city. We are heading to New York.”

The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyMon Oct 29, 2018 1:37 pm

Ffion was still curled up in the corner of her cell, listening to the fighting going on in the cell nextdoor. Whoever was in there wasn't going down without a fight, that much was clear. She had learned a long time ago that fighting only made things worse... Seventeen years she'd been trapped in this hellhole, watching various people come and go. She had only been let out of her prison a handful of times, and that was only because the Order needed her for some or other mission.

Katherine couldn't fight off the doctors or nurses much longer; she was just so tired... Perhaps nobody would come for her and the other subjects? She had heard of a girl that had been here for roughly seventeen years, and she couldn't help but wonder how the girl was doing. Katherine took a seat in the corner of the room, finally too tired to fight anymore.

"Sir, it seems subject 34 has finally exhausted herself." The old man studied the feed of an exhausted Katherine, and smiled. They had been waiting for this moment for about two or three hours now, and had lost quite a few good men to subject 34.
"It would seem so. Send in some men, but keep Sinclair away from her, we don't want a repeat of last time."
"Yes, sir."

A group of men surrounded Katherine, pinning her down so they could easily take her blood, as well as inject her with a tranquilliser and tie her down. She didn't even bother fighting the men at that point. No energy meant there was nothing she could do.

Ffion had noticed the silence that now filled the building, and crept up to the wall that was separating her from the woman that had put up such a fight.
"Miss... Are you alright" Ffion asked curiously as she rested her head against the wall.
"I'm fine, thank you... Who are you?"
"Ffion. Ffion Rees. You?"
"Katherine Wuulf." Ffion gently placed her hand on the wall, almost as if she was trying to get through to comfort Katherine.
"Don't give up, Miss Wuulf. We'll get out of here one day" Ffion said softly, trying to sound believable. She had lost all hope of ever escaping a very long time ago.

The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyMon Oct 29, 2018 4:27 pm

After two days, the Orn pulled into dock at New York.  The Orn appeared to be a standard commercial fishing vessel but in reality was the floating museum for the Assassin Brotherhood and base of operations for Michael Sheridan’s Eolas Team.  On the second deck, Michael was gearing up for a mission outside of his usual order of operation. He often went undercover as an archeologist for the fictional Eagle Foundation but this was something entirely.  He had dyed his brown hair to a stark black, shaved his facial hair, swapped his glasses for a pair green contacts, and was now dressing in an Abstergo security uniform amid a flurry of action.

Charlie was handing him and I.D. badge, “I hacked into their servers and set you up as new security guard Arthur Green.  It should take them a couple of hours to find hack but I wouldn't chance it.” Thomas Wallis buted in and drew Michael's attention to assorted items on a work table.  “I know you are partial to your pivot blade so I designed you one that is more concealable. It comes apart so no one can tell what it is and when it is assembled, there is absolutely no metal in it.”

Michael marvels at the pieces of ceramic in front of him.  How could that be a hidden blade, let alone a complex pivot one?  The largest piece was only 3 and half inches long. He was brought out of his musings by the voice of his wife.  “Your target is an Abstergo research facility. Charlie has intercepted emails that suggest Ms.Rees is being held there.  We have no idea where she is at in there. If you haven't found her in two hours you need to get out as fast as possible.”

Michael frowned at his wife.  “You know I can't leave an innocent person behind.  I won't fail my love.” he replied before kissing Nicole and heading up deck.

Michael was about step onto the exit ramp when the voice of his better half stopped him.  “I wasn't going to question you in front of the others but you know I should be coming to.”

He turned and hugged her warmly.   “I love you but you are needed here.  If something goes wrong, the team needs a strong leader.  Promise me you will pull up anchor and get out of here.”

Nicole simply nodded as her husband disappeared into the night………

Nearly two hours later, Michael was approaching the lower levels of the facility.  Charlie’s I.D. had indeed worked on getting him into the building and his first stop was the restroom.  It was there that he assembled his blade in the restroom. Thomas’ design was truly a work of art. The blade assembly was a 3 and half inch long piece that appeared as a keychain and his dart launcher looked like a ordinary pen.  Both of these attached to his leather wrist band and had such a low profile that you wouldn't notice it unless it was too late. With his blade in place on his right wrist, he had worked his through the lab to no avail.

Time was up an he had yet to find the young woman.  He felt the world fade away as he was overwhelmed by his sense of failure until he noticed a high security door.  He managed to regain control of himself as he approached it. A swipe of his card confirmed its high security when he was denied him access.  If she was anywhere, it had to be here. Michael had no other choice but to activate his contingency plan. A simple press of a button on his watch, sent a signal to Charlie in command for her to cut power to the building.

The Search Begins Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyMon Oct 29, 2018 5:18 pm

Ffion had been trying calm Katherine down after a particularly rough session in the Animus, and the treatment she had experienced at the hands of the Templars. Two days was all it took them to break her...
"Katherine, you're going to be fine. They won't kill you..."
"They do worse than that, Ffion... It's the same shit I went through back at Abstergo." Ffion let out a sigh, and hung her head. Over the past two days, the two had gotten to know each other quite well as all they had done was talk, and try to keep each other calm.

"Sir, we found something in subject 34's bloodwork. I think you'll want to see this" a doctor said excitedly before handing some papers to the elderly gentleman. He looked at the papers, a huge smile on his face.
"Well now, this is interesting..."
"Should we change her treatment, sir?"
"No, she can handle it. I want you to push her harder. Put her through the worst we have to offer, I want to see what we can get out of her." The doctor hung his head, clearly not happy with the order he had been given.
"Yes, sir."

The door to Katherine's cell creaked open slowly, causing her to begin panicking.

"Kitty! Kitty, what's going on?!" Ffion was starting to panic, not only because something was happening to the first friend she had had in years, but because she knew they would come to her next to do God alone knows what. Ffion started sobbing, concerned for their safety. Most of the former subjects had died as a result of some of the procedures...

Katherine kicked at the guards and doctors that had entered the room trying her best to keep them at bay. She wasn't going to let them get anywhere near her, and she caused a commotion that could be heard throughout the hallway.
"Оставь меня в покое! Прикоснись ко мне, и я убью тебя!" The guards eventually managed to get a grip on the Russian, but not before she took one of them down.
"Tie her up! The boss wants us to push her as hard as we can."
"FFION! SETI! ANYONE!"

PostSubject: Re: The Search Begins   The Search Begins EmptyTue Oct 30, 2018 12:28 am

The building went black just as he heard a woman shout “Leave me alone! Touch me and I'll kill you!” This spurred Michael into action and he burst through the unlocked door. Thankfully, his Eagle Vision allowed him to see as if the lights were still on. A group of men surrounding a white haired woman. Michael popped his hidden blade and quickly dispatched the first guard with a jab to the kidney then followed that with a slash to another's throat. By this time, the guards were alerted to the danger and began swinging wildly.

Michael easily ducked under the nearest man’s baton and pivoted his blade into knife position in order to repeatedly stab the man as he pushed him back against the two men behind him. He grabbed the pocket knife from the slain man and threw it at the man who attempted to charge him from behind. Unfortunately, one of the guards would hit him with a punch that nearly staggered him. This enraged Michael so much that he grabbed the enemy by the ears and repeatedly drove his knee into the man’s face with a sickening squish. This caused the remaining men to run in terror. Michael reached his hand out to the strange woman, “Are you ok?”

Katherine heard the fighting, and as soon as she could feel nobody was holding her down, she began working on her restraints. All she could smell was blood, and it made her want to fight, but it seemed like her rescuer had already taken care of everyone. Katherine carefully took the man's hand, and rose to her feet, still trembling from the trauma.
"I'm alright, I think. Thank you so much." Katherine took a deep breath to calm herself, and slowly began to take in her surroundings. It had been a long time since she needed to use the sight for anything, but she still had access to it. "Ffion's next door. She has to get out of here" Katherine explained as she grabbed her gear from the locker in the corner of the room.
"Kat, what's going on? Are you alright" Ffion asked, her voice thick with fear and concern. She had no idea what was going on, or what had happened.
"I'm fine, Ffion. We're getting out of here. You're finally going to leave this place." Ffion couldn't believe what she had heard. Freedom, at long last... Ffion couldn't help but start crying. To finally feel the sun on her face after seventeen years of imprisonment, it felt like a dream to Ffion.
"Really? Thank God. Thank you so much, sir."

Michael smiled warmly at Ffion.  “You can call me Michael, and you are very welcome.”  The stomping of boots drew his attention. “Can you guys travel?  We are about to have some company and we have lost the element of surprise”  His statement was punctuated by the lights coming back on. This allowed him to see the carnage he had caused for the first time.  Michael simply bowed his head and whispered, “B'fhéidir go bhfaighidh tú an tsíocháin i mbás, dhiúltaigh an saol sin duit. Luaigh logh dom an pian a rinne mé ort”

Ffion grabbed her jersey as well as an old teddy bear, quickly making her way back to her rescuer. The language he spoke, it was definitely a form of Gaelic, but not Welsh. Irish, perhaps? Now wasn't the time to stand around and think, now was the time to run like their lives depended on it.
"I can travel. Katherine, what about you?"
"I can run. Let's get out of here, the sooner the better." Katherine grabbed a familiar weapon from one of the guards, and handed Ffion a knife.
"Ok, we should leave, immediately, before they get here." Ffion was really anxious, and began scratching her arm in stress. The two girls were both eager to escape, Ffion perhaps more so.

Michael nodded to the women, “I have a car in the garage a few levels up.  The best way up there is the emergency staircase on the other side of the building.  If we run full tilt, we should be able to make it there before its locked down.” With that, Michael rushed them through the door before taking off.  They were halfway down the hall when he stopped to tie the public staircase shut in hopes of slowing down the guards. He would do the same to the emergency door once they were through.

Michael had originally worried about the girls keeping up, but he strangely found himself lagging behind the white haired woman.  The trio managed to make it the garage in only five minutes but that was apparently was too slow as the room was already occupied by a dozen guards.  Michael popped his blade and instinctually dropped to a defensive posture as the men surrounded them.

Katherine and Ffion had been running as fast as they could, Ffion slightly struggling to keep up with their rescuer and Katherine. Ffion wasn't particularly fit, and it showed by the fact that she was battling to breathe by the time they came to a stop. Katherine had her hand clasped firmly around the hilt of her blade, eyeing down the guards that stood between them and their freedom. Ffion stood there, trembling, and trying to regain her breath.
"Oh no, you're not going to stop us now" Katherine roared before charging at the guards. Her movements were incredible, and it seemed almost like some kind of graceful macabre dance, yet somewhat animalistic. As good as she seemed, it looked like she was still taking strain. There were just too many for her to take on on her own. Ffion was frozen in fear, staring at the guards. She wasn't a fighter, she had never had any training, all she could do was sing.

Michael was transfixed by the movement of the white haired as she rushed into battle. He could not place her style but he admired its effectiveness. Unfortunately, even the best combat forms could be overwhelmed by numbers. A guard was about to take of his rescuee’s head with a baton when Michael stepped in to twist the man’s wrist so hard it snapped then followed up with an elbow the shoulder. With that taken out of the fight, Michael sent a guard flying over the hood of a car with a thrust kick before elbowing the men to his left in the nose. He quickly dispatched the guard to the right by sticking his blade under his chin.

With only three men left, it was only a matter of a few placed strikes from the two defenders for the fight to be over. Michael then ushered the women in his stolen car and crashed through the shut garage door…..

Minutes later, the trio was in the Orn’s infirmary where the stone faced raven haired Doctor Julya Ostrovsky was examining Ffion. “You appear to be malnourished. Didn't your family feed you those cheeseburgers you Americans are so fond of.” What the Russian lacked in bedside manner, she more than made up in medical skill. This woman had once saved Michael’s life and he was willing to put up with her attitude issues in trade for her services.

Katherine sat in the corner of the room, examining the wounds from the fight, whilst keeping an eye on Ffion. The doctor had a familiar accent, definitely Russian. Finally, a fellow slav. She overheard what the doctor had said to Ffion, and shook her head before she began stitching up an incision on her right forearm.
"I haven't seen my family in quite some time" Ffion said sadly, slightly recoiling everytime the doctor got close to her, flinching everytime the strange woman touched her.
"Ее держали там почти 17 лет. Я не удивлен, что она недоедает. Успокойся, она испытала много." Katherine looked to Ffion with a small smile before speaking to her in a warm voice. "It's alright, Ffion, you're safe now. The doctor will be done sooner if you sit still for just a few minutes." Ffion nodded, taking a few deep breaths to calm herself before allowing the doctor to continue with her work. Katherine finished up her stitches before quickly pulling down her sleeve to hide the wound. She raised a hand to her neck, feeling that the choker was still there, and let out a sigh of relief.

Michael let out an exasperated sigh and motioned for Katherine to follow him into the hallway.

Katherine let out a groan, and rose to her feet before heading towards Michael. She paused for a moment near the doctor, glaring at the woman before her.
"Ffion, I'll be just outside if you need me." Ffion nodded, but she didn't seem too happy about being left alone with this unfamiliar and angry woman. Katherine followed Michael outside, mildly annoyed by the doctor. "Thank you for getting us out of there. Now, to whom do I owe my thanks?" She wanted to know his name so as to avoid seeming rude or ungrateful.

“I could never leave anyone in the hands of those monsters.” Michael reached his hand out. “The name is Michael. May I ask who you are and if you know why they had you?”

Katherine took Michael's firmly, and gave it a good shake. It was nice to finally put a name to the face.
"Katherine Wuulf, pleased to meet you, Michael." Katherine let out a sigh, and ran her fingers through her hair. She didn't think the Assassins would be too happy to see her again as she had killed two of their Mentor's: Callum Butcher, and Ryan Redfield. "I used to be an animator at Abstergo, that's how they first got me. The second time, now, was a trap that cost me someone close to my heart. They've been chasing me since my days at Abstergo."

Michael was intrigued by her answer as a member of his own team had worked for Abstergo until she discovered something they deemed she shouldn't have.  He was going to have Charlie look into her later. “You handled yourself well back there. Where did you learn to fight like that?”

"Jack Napier taught me how to fight dirty, Mentor Callum trained me to use my brute strength effectively, and the rest is because of my ancestors" Katherine explained. She wasn't entirely sure if she should tell Michael of her ancestors, who they were. If anything, the Assassins likely still had her papers from her brief week with the Assassins.

Only a brief glimpse of the terror that he felt was visible in his eyes. She too had been subjugated to the horrors of the Animus. That monstrosity had destroyed more live, directly and indirectly, than anything else the Templars had designed. Michael could still feel the cool metal of the table on his skin, the buzzing of the machine in his ears, and its metaphorical claws shredding through his brain. It has been over a decade since he was subjected to that abomination and yet it still affected him.

Michael pushed his emotions aside before speaking. “What do you plan to do now?”

Katherine let out a sigh, and hung her head. What was she going to do now that she was free again? The Templars would likely still come after her, perhaps moreso now that they knew of one of her ancestors.
"I honestly don't know, Michael... I mean, they got me at my house, killed my animals and Justin before dragging me off to that hellhole." Katherine rested against the wall, and took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself even though the tears threatened to flow at any second. "Mercenary work, I guess. Try get my life together again" Katherine said with a sigh.

Michael carefully thought over her words before he spoke. She definitely sounded like someone who needed help, and he could never refuse someone in need. Charlie would still have to run her checks but he had come to a decision. “We have a safe place that the Templars have no idea about. If you want, we can take you there. It's It's quiet life but you'll be safe. But I you want some action, you can join stay aboard. Or We can drop you off at port somewhere if you like. You are not our prisoner and are free to go as you please. The same goes for Ffion.”

Katherine thought about it for a moment, wondering what she should do. A peaceful life had never been an option for her, it never worked out either. The promise of action, on a ship too, it was definitely very tempting. A wide smile spread across Katherine's face.
"Well I can't pass up an offer like that now can I? So, I guess I'll be joining the crew then." She looked to the door of the infirmary, and smiled for a moment. Ffion would need help, and she would need someone to talk to. "I'll be back in a bit. I just need to grab some things quickly. Should only take about half an hour at most." Katherine bolted off, entering an old shipping warehouse not too far from the ship. The sign on the warehouse read: Funnibone shipping. It had previously belonged to Jack Napier, as well as his sister Ember Shay, the former Templar Grand Master of the Irish Rite.

Ffion sat with the doctor, looking around nervously. She wasn't sure if she could trust this woman, especially given her current track record with doctors.

Doctor Ostrovsky readied a syringe and a few vials as she continued to berate her patient.  “You will need to start eating three meals a day and getting regular exercise or I will strap you down to give you vitamin injections.”  The doctor chose then to turn around and reveal the needle in her hand.
