Background:
Born in Lisbon, in noble family. When he was 12, he escaped from his city. He was lucky, because shortly after his escape there was an earthquake. His family didn't survive.

The ship, on which he escaped, sailed to France, where his distant relatives took care of him. He learned how to navigate and use saber. At the age of 17, he sailed to America, where he wanted to become a pirate and live an adventure. That's why his first goal was Nassau.
