Vivienne Lachance Empty
PostSubject: Vivienne Lachance   Vivienne Lachance EmptyMon Dec 29, 2014 10:05 pm

Name: Vivienne Lachance

Age: 26

Affiliation: Assassin

Appearance:
Normal appearance:
A quick sketch of her assassin robes (sorry for the quality i was a bit tired):

Standing at 5'4 (164 cm) Vivienne is a bit petite but hey, that just means it's easier to hide. She is however a bit curvy, her hips being quite wide there is no mistake she is female even if she often binds her breasts so that they don't get in the way when scaling buildings or other physical activities. She has some muscle on her even if it's not very visible with maybe an exception of her slighly toned arms. Her body is riddled with small scars from various encounters but the most noticable one is the large horizontal one on her thigh that she got during one altercation with a particulary skilled axe wielding templar that tried to cut her leg off. Luckily for her the templar didn't succeed but it still left a nasty scar.

Due to her mother being black and father of hispanic heritage Vivienne's skin is naturally a tan colour almost looking a bit like caramel. She however inherited her mother's appearance and has faced a lot of bias because of it. One of her most noteable traits is probably her large natural curly hair that she ties back or braids (sometimes both) when on missions since it wouldn't fit under her hood without looking odd or becoming a hassle otherwise. But she prefers to have it loose. Two other noteable traits are her dark brown eyes that they almost look black in some lighting and her plump pink lips that seem to stand out from the rest of her face.

When not wearing her assassin getup Vivienne prefers to dress comfortably and often just throws on a plain dress or simply some breeches and a shirt and ties her red knitted scarf (that she made herself mind you)around her neck and sometimes wraps it around her head like a shawl if it's chilly.

Personality: Being the oldest of three siblings Vivienne is very calm and more than anything, patient. She often thinks ahead before doing anything as she is used to having to deal with her sisters. She is kind and nurturing to the people she considers friends and puts the creed before anything. Thus she takes her duties and contracts extremely serious and is fiercly protective over her fellow assassins even if she may not show that as she tries to keep up a cool and collected facade by not showing too much affection. At least not directly. Well not that she'll even hesitate once to knit them socks or mittens when they have complained about being cold. Besides, it's amusing seing their confusion to finding a set of newly made socks in their home without a note or nothing. She enjoys knitting anyways, it's what she considers one of her more normal pastimes. She's almost as good at it as she is blowing templar's heads off.

Almost.

Even though Vivienne prefers to be kind and open minded she really can't stand people that insult her (mostly for her skintone) or her comrades. She is very good at holding grudges against people (the longest she held one was for about ten years until the person finally redeemed themselves) . And if you go so far that you break down her kind persona she will not mind putting a blade in your neck if it means shutting your stupidity down.

Favorite Weapons: Rifles in general, flintlock pistols and the phantom blade.

Strengths: Incredibly flexible and double jointed, making it easy for her to both scale buildings and to hide in cramped spaces. She is an incredibly talented sharpshooter and is often more surprised if she doesn't hit her target rather than not. She is very stategic and often does her contracts thorougly and carefully, making sure not to leave a trace and making the kill clean and swift. She also possesses an almost ungodly patience and doesn't mind sitting up all night scouting if that's what she needs to do. It is also very handy when interrogating people since she can press them for info for hours on end if they don't co-operate from the beginning. Vivienne is also bilingual due to her mother teaching her english and her father teaching her french she speaks both french and english fluently.

Weaknesses: Due to prefering rifles and long-range combat in general Vivienne is not good with close-range combat so if it comes down to her having to face off with an enemy face to face she is definitely the underdog and has gained many scars from such situations. She often overthinks many things, reading far into very trivial things and often misses good opportunities to assassinate her targets because she simply waits a bit too long. Another bad thing is that she is extremely weak to flattery, making it very easy to get her flushed and off guard if one so desires. She also has a bit of a gambling problem since she has a hard time saying no to an offer and enjoys the thought that goes into cards even if it often ends with her losing an considerable amount of hard earned money.

Background/Biography: Born on Cuba as the first child to two assassins, of which one was an escaped slave and the other a former french soldier that had been stationed in the west indies it was quickly decided by Vivienne's parents that since she was the first born she would be the one picking up where her parents left off when they sooner or later retired from being assassins. It was also during that time her parents decided that they would move back to her father's home country, namely France. Mostly because her parents felt that the west indies in general at that time wasn't a good place to raise a child. Sure, the golden age of pirates there was over but there still was a lot of thugs hanging about and her mother didn't want to go around worrying about her daughter all the time, even if she was a bit sceptical towards moving to Paris since there was mostly white people living there and she was not white, neither was her daughter. But her husband had assured her that the brotherhood was much more organized in Paris and that they thus could provide a safer enviroment and that they had enough money to live far away from the bad neighbourhoods. So she trusted him and as soon as they got the chance they got on a ship sailing for France.

Her husband had been right, the brotherhood was a lot more organized and well off in Paris and they did indeed have enough money to move into one of the fancier neighbourhoods but Vivienne's mother knew already then that France was a worried country that was on the verge of revolution at every turn due to it's incompetent ruler. But she had a child to raise and french to learn so Vivienne's mother didn't bother following the politics as much as her husband did whilst he was doing work for the brotherhood.

Vivienne's start in life wasn't bad according to herself, she had a loving mother and a supportive father even if they both were absent at times she still respected and valued her parents. Her training to become an assassin had started early in life when her parents (mostly her father) would tell her tales of the brotherhood and of the many great assassin's in it as bedtime stories. Her father would even sneak in a story of a templar or two (often putting them in a bad light) sometimes.

Her first younger sister was born when Vivienne was six years old and even though she felt extremely proud and protective over her new sibling Vivienne's first comment when seeing the newborn was "It looks like something washed up from the river." which earned her a scolding from her father and a chuckle from her mother.

Years went by and during those years Vivienne spent most of her days studying and training during the day and then knitting during the evenings while studying some more, her parents also managed to have another child when she was nine so that Vivienne suddenly had two sisters instead of just one. And she who had thought one was enough of a hassle. When she was twelve years old it was the first time her parents left her in charge of taking care of her sisters whilst they went out and "ran errands" as they told them but Vivienne knew what her parents were, so she was fully aware of what "running errands" meant to her parents. Her sisters were however still far too young to understand their parents' profession so she did her best at keeping them entertained and trying to get them not to ask so many questions.

It may not have been the case but to Vivienne it seemed that her parents were running more and more "errands" as more years went by but she simply did what she had to do in keeping her sisters from causing a mess and studying at the same time which could get incredibly frustrating at times but her mother always told her "Patience is virtue" so she did her best to stay calm and collected whilst her sisters tore down expensive vases and trampled the flowers in their small garden.

As Vivienne turned eighteen her father decided it was time for her to get formally inducted into the brotherhood. She still recalls how sweaty her palms were as she walked behind her father down the tunnels under Paris and then how magnificent she thought the large wooden doors looked before her mind just went blank mostly due to nervosity. She doesn't remember much from the initiation process itself only that she did well enough apparently to get accepted as a novice and thus she was officially a part of the brotherhood. Her father was still her main mentor however and from that day it was still pretty much the same routine of training and studying except maybe a bit more intense. She also got the occasional easy contract that mostly were just to steal something or eavesdropping.

The first time she ever got tasked with killing someone she was twenty years old and she would have been lying if she had said she was confident it was going to go well, even if it was just a city guard that had become horribly corrupt and started bothering the citizens of Paris.

Since Vivienne had early on shown signs of being more skilled with long range weapons rather than close range her father had focused on teaching her how to shoot someone properly and thus as she worked on her abilities she soon enough was quite the adept sharpshooter. So as it was time to end the man she positioned herself on a rooftop a bit away and waited for him to do his usual patrol. She sat there for so long the doves of Paris slowly started accepting her as one of them until she finally spotted him. Cracking her knuckles first and stretching Vivienne then raised her rifle with shaky hands, took a deep breath and held it as she aimed at the man's head, following his movements as he harrassed some women before she pulled the trigger and with a loud bang the bullet fired as Vivienne felt almost frozen into place up on the roof. Before she watched as his limp body fell to the ground and heard the bloodcurdling screams of the women that had been standing next to him and the shouts of the guards that rushed forward towards the corpse.

Vivienne had quickly fled the scene after that and she was sure she probably had ran for a bit longer than necessary as she stopped to catch her breath in an alley, but she had done it. She had killed someone for the first time.

The council had also seemed pleased with how her contract had turned out as well so from then on she got more complicated contracts that sometimes involved more murder.

As Vivienne had turned 23 her parents had since long talked about moving to the country with their daughters and retiring from the brotherhood since they felt that they were both getting too old to be of any use anymore and since they felt that Paris was becoming more and more unstable and dangerous every day that passed they finally decided it was time to move. However Vivienne was conflicted, she felt a very strong responsibility within the brotherhood but she wanted to be with her family as well. However she felt her responsibilities as an assassin outweighed staying with her family and thus she stayed in Paris as her parents and sisters moved far out into the french countryside and even though they'd communicate by letters and even though she had her fellow assassins to discuss things with Vivienne often felt and feels awfully lonely sometimes as she paces the rooms of her home.

Feeling lonely was probably the reason why she started going out some nights and thus began to gamble even if it probably wasn't the best thing to do since she often became short on money because of it.

It was at 25 that Vivienne found out her mother had become severely ill and just as she had made arrangements to travel out to her parents she got the news her mother had died and she would not be able to get out in time of the funeral. So she cancelled the trip and focused on work, isolating herself from her family, she even stopped opening her letters from them for some time and took even longer to start replying again. Since then some time has passed and Vivienne has turned 26 but she still has yet to visit her mother's grave or her family at all and prefers to keep constantly busy with contracts or other things to keep her mind off the grief.
