As a child, Artyom was quiet and observant, asking little but always attentive. He used to love books, and would hoard them away, out of his father's sight. He learned quickly in school and was quick to earn the trust of the other children; he also had a special skill to rally up any of the kid's support and interest, thus keeping him out of the way of bullies.

Background/Biography: Born in Leningrad, USSR, Artyom Pavlov was raised into the Templar Order by his father since the day he first opened his eyes. He and his older sister Ekatarina were drilled with various exercises, both mentally and physically. For years he did not dare question what his father taught him, especially since his father beat him whenever he let his tongue slip, especially whenever he asked about his mother whom he's never met. It wasn't until the death of his sister that he began to question whose side he was really on; his sister had died at the hands of a Templar who accused her of siding with the Assassins. Which was anything but true, as the man had been trying to get back at his father for bumping him down from his high-ranking position in the Order. Since the war began, Artyom was drafted into the Soviet army and has been a messenger for both the Soviet generals and his father's Templar allies. As a soldier, he has taken on the alias Viktor Berezhnoy to protect his identity, especially since his father has become a high-ranking Templar and thus a major target to the Assassins.
