PostSubject: Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad   Mon Feb 18, 2013 3:21 pm

Name:Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad

Age: 24

Affiliation:Assassin
Appearance: (I'm pretty confident we all know what Altair looks like, but still,) Altair stands at 6'2" with a broad chest and a sturdy build; an imposing figure. He dons the usual assassin's robes: White hood, red sash, the likes. Altaïr has a strong jaw and Arabic nose, and he has a light stubble on his jaw. He also has a slight mustache over his lips, which are full with a scar going down his right side of them. Altaïr's eyes are a molten honey color, with splashes of brown. His hair is sort of like Malik's, but it is brown and shorter.

Personality: (He is at the age 2 years before the first game happens, so he doesn't act like that yet.) Altair is a stoic and calm figure, even if somewhat frightening. He is reasonable, and listens well. When he was younger, he used to have a sense of humor, and was even somewhat of a flirt, but that diminished over the years, and he has become more silent.

Favorite Weapons: Hidden Blade and throwing knives

Strengths:
1. Altaïr is good at reading body movements, and in turn he is very skilled at counter-attacking.
2. Altaïr's speed benefits him in free running and fighting.
3. He has a sort of sixth sense, which his brothers have dubbed 'Eagle Vision'.

Weaknesses:
Physical: Altaïr is more of a speed fighter than a strength one, so while his strength is pretty good, he doesn't do so well with brutes or heavily armored foes.
Psychological: Altaïr can get pretty arrogant at times, and it gets the better of him sometimes. He calls it 'passion', but that is just a fancy name for his over confidence.

Background/Biography:
Altaïr was born to Assassin parents: a Christian mother and a Muslim father, Umar Ibn-La'Ahad. While Altaïr's mother died at childbirth, his father Umar was executed by the Saracens, in retribution for him killing a nobleman of their kind during the First siege of Masyaf, with Altaïr being 11 years old at the time. Moments before the execution, Altaïr frantically called out to his father before he was killed, leading to a sight that would cause him much grief from that point on. Ahmad Sofian, the Assassin who had revealed Umar's name to the Saracens under torture, felt responsible for Umar's death and some time after the event, he infiltrated Altaïr's quarters, before apologizing to Altaïr for his weakness under pressure and proceeded to commit suicide with a dagger.
This obviously gave Abbas, Ahmad's son, some grief, and Al Mualim told Altaïr not to tell Abbas that his father had committed suicide. They would be training together, after all. One day, Altaïr, after having noticed Abbas' continued grief over his father, decided to tell him that Ahmad had killed himself, in an effort to console him with the truth. Upon hearing it, Abbas turned around in his bed, not saying a word. The following day, the two of them didn't speak to each other, spending most of the day in silence, until Abbas asked their combat instructor Labib if they could fight with real swords, instead of the wooden practice ones. It was then that Abbas revealed his hatred to Altaïr, believing him to have lied about his father, before attacking him in a frenzy - fueled with rage.
The years leading up to Altaïr becoming a full assassin are pretty uneventful, nothing significant. However, it is up to us roleplayers to decide exactly how these past and current years are spent.

Thank you. I must say, I was overjoyed when I found a forum that wasn't secluded to a certain game. The first AC was my favorite, so I had to join.
