PostSubject: Battle of Bunker Hill(open)   Mon Dec 05, 2016 1:38 am

William Prescott stood straight, atop Bunker Hill, with a face of sorrow, onlooking the sea, where a multitude of British Naval Ships gather. Almost without warning, a male, dressed in a brown hood and cloak, appears next to him.
"Six thousand." The male says, and then lets out a sadistic chuckle. Prescott, ignoring the dark jest often produced by the boy, looks at him in shock.
"Six thousand?!? Logan, are you sure?" Logan pulls his hood back, revealing a young, bronze head, mopped with long black hair and green eyes. He scoffs.
"Of course I'm sure, Willie old boy. Mary and I were just by those trees-" he points down to left, not 100 meters from where the British are coming ashore, "-and trust me, Mary has the eyes of a hawk." Logan looks behind him, to see the slim figure of his best friend, Mary, giving assertive orders to the musketeers. She looks back at him, and Logan sees a faint smile underneath her hood, briefly.
"Six thousand...to our just exceeding grand. Walsh, we won't stand a chance." Logan smirks again.
"Not with that attitude we won't, Willie." Logan salutes him mockingly, and jogs over to Mary.

Four hours later, the shots have begun. Loud explosions can be heard, mainly on the rebels side, as the overpowering numbers and power of the British cannons look august compared to the likes of the Americans. Prescott throws his telescope down in frustration. Those dammed cannons, he thought. Without those, we might have a chance...

"Logan...Where is Logan?!?"

Where was Logan? At the time of need, he was nowhere to be seen, and neither was Mary. This was specifically because of the fact that they were lying down prone in the long dead grass, perhaps a quarter mile away from the British cannons.
"Nope. Impossible. Look how many there are!" Mary exclaims, making Logan groan.
"Oh, c'mon! We've done worse. And those redcoats aren't even expecting us." Mary rolled her eyes.
"Don't be rash, Logan. Those rifles will cut you up in a second." Logan lets out a hysterical laugh.
"What would you have me do?" he cheekily adds, his Irish accent making it hard for Mary to keep composure. But she shakes her head.
"We have to wait, for the opportune moment."

Samm was on his riskiest expedition yet. Sure, hes played music before, sometimes for battles, but it was more of the tiny tavern brawl than a full-scale army battle. Nonetheless, to Samm, it merely represented the need to play louder. Adjusting the strap on his arms, he continued to beat the drums valiantly. He managed to nab them from a Redcoat that was killed during the battle, and luckily found a couple of twigs to use as sticks.
"C'mon!" he yelled, over the gunshots that never stopped, "Everything may as well depend on this!". He hoped, yet deep down didn't believe, that he was boosting the soldier's morale with the drumming that he managed to perfect over time. As he thought this, a squadron died next to him. Cannon fire! He thought, and - yes - he could see them, like monsters that knew no mercy. He yelled in fear, and began running about, still attempting to play the music. He had to escape from these cannons, or else he would end up like many he knew.

(Oh, by the way - Great post, man. Great post. Nice to see some new faces here, I have some confidence in you. Last time I told that to a new guy, they've become a regular. There name's AvaAssassin, and they are the 3rd top poster, a spot I used to hold. Anywho, nice to meet ya, and I feel a possibility for greatness here.)

"The drums Mary! The drums dammit! Don't you feel the righteousness flowing through you? Now's the time!" Logan pleads, now pacing out in the open, yet still unnoticed. "Yes, I hear them Logan, but that doesn't give any excuse to go all out, gung-ho, mad hatter and a force that wipe both of us out with a single glance. No, we're waiting for something. Some diversion." Logan's face warps into a crooked smile, and he puts his hood on. "A diversion, eh?" He walks over the high-most point of the hill from which they take cover, and pulls his long-rifle from his back. "You want a bloody diversion Mary!?!" he yells, hysterically, and aims his rifle at one of the cannon groups, firing. Mary stands quickly, eyes wide. "Logan stop-" Another shot fired. Two redcoats are dead, and the cannon group spots the marksman, a lone figure. "Over here you fat lobsters!" He shouts, firing his rifle into the air. One of the British shouts something to the centurion, and within a few seconds, a party of six head over to the two assassins. Mary runs over to Logan, and snatches his rifle from him. She desperately searches for the right words, but as Logan just looks at her and grins, she simply throws her arms into the air with derision. "I count 3 horses, each with two people. Savvy?" Mary draws her saber. "Shut up." she mumbles, and as the cavalry narrows the distance to them to fifty feet, Logan laughs a devils laugh.

The two horses, quick and small, bear a saber holder and and infantry, who jumps off before meeting point. Logan grabs his rifle from Mary, and sprints forward. He dives into a roll as the first horseman swipes at him, and rolls into a crouch, where he delivers a quick blow to the infantry's head, before reloading, and firing another shot into the second horse's head. Ahead of him lie four shaken redcoats, right to next to each other. Logan smiles, drops his rifle, and sprints over to them. Just before he reaches the first one, he extends his ankle, and jumps high so that his knee collides with the red's chest, and as Logan pushes through him, he stabs the second redcoat in the neck. Falling, he breaks into a roll, which ends up neatly between the third and fourth brit. Springing his hidden blades, he uses his crouched position to flip backwards, slicing the faces of both redcoats, and as Logan lands, he plunges his blades into the chest of each soldier, ending his confrontation.

Logan looks back, blood on his smile, to see a horse slowing down, with a headless rider, and Mary cleaning her sword. He starts walking to her, stopping to grab his rifle. Mary looks up at Logan, puling her hood back, and her eyes widen. "Logan, behind you!" But Logan had heard the steps atop grass, and had already swung around, rifle ready, to blow away the face of the first redcoat. He looked back at Mary, a face covered in blood, and grinned. "What the hell did that whole shenanigan accomplish?" Logan points to the horse, and then glances at the British cannons. "I think it's time for a little hit and run action, don't you think?"

(Once again, open to any critiques. That fight scene may have been a little confusing, but I know what I was trying to convey, so feedback is appreciated.

Thanks TheGuillotine! Good post yourself! Although I haven't exactly found a way for our characters to converge, so by all means, have at it.)

(Ah, you do this old dog too much justice. Nice fight scene, though - conveys your character well. Nice descriptive scenes filled with action. I'd think of something for converging, though, trust me.)

Looking around wildly, he notices a man charging into action. Samm thinks he sees another man about to die, yet stares anyway, still avoiding attacks the best he could, still drumming away, yet longer pauses between the beats due to the dodging. The man pulls off something insane - something that results in the brutal murder of a Redcoat. Cheering loudly, he shouts mildly maniacally, "Aha! There it is! C'mon, we can do it!", attempting to boost all of the soldier's morale. He had to do this, yet as his mind filled with thoughts of how to boost morale, he felt something graze his chest. A bullet, fired from a redcoat. He was targeting the source of it all - him. Looking down, he saw the blood. It wasn't much, but it still hurt like hell. Kneeling over mildly, he swore loudly. He attempted to stand once more, and continue playing, yet it was weaker, not as strong this time. It didn't sound enthusiastic as it used to be. Another bullet, grazing his arm this time. The pain was too much - the twigs fell out of his hands, and he lay on the ground. Alive, yet feeling as if he was close to death. Of course, it was just two grazed bullets, yet the pain was still there. "Heh, this, uh... doesn't look good. I'm gonna just... crawl over there... yeah... sounds good...". Leaving the drums behind, the slowly pulls himself forward, trying to get out of the way of the two sides. He could feel the bullets whiz past him, still shooting. More screaming. More explosions. More dead.

The horse panted under the pace Logan rode him at. Mary had voted that Logan's plan was stupid, and after he had argued that she in fact was stupid, he simply took the horse and headed straight for the cannons. Of course, some of the British had noticed how he easily took out the party sent for him, and began firing at him. Logan rode at an angle, making a target moving just horizontally across any redcoats view, making him much harder to hit. Now within sprinting distance of the camp, Logan crouches atop the horses back, and as the horse is about to hit the first line of redcoats, who have their 13 bayonets ready, Logan jumps over them, flipping, and throws two small grenades at the line he had vaulted as he flipped. He lands into a roll, and breaks into a sprint, a loud explosion along with a few screams going off behind him. Quickly drawing his father's shotel, he lays siege to the unarmed cannoneers. At the moment, only Logan remains at the cannon sight, but British help is merely minutes away, both ahead of him and in front. Logan works fast, gathering barrels and fuse-line. Mary, who had ran to the cannons, arrived panting, and to see Logan's extended hand coming from a horse. "C'mon wench. We best get out of here." he said with a devious grin. Mary climbs aboard, flustered, and Logan rides out into the battle from behind the enemies, slightly to the side, slashing at any redcoat he can reach. His horse whinnies, having been shot, and Logan and Mary are both thrown. Mary doesn't move, but Logan sits up, having landed next to a wounded man, unarmed, a discarded drum nearby. Logan smiles at him, and puts his hood on. "Eyes open, lad. This is gonna be one hell of a show." he says, turning to the cannon sight. A few shouts can be heard, and then, the cannon sight explodes with a thunder-like boom, flames going into the air. There is momentary silence across the battle, except for the sound of Logan laughing maniacally. "Oh, dearie, that was a big one!"

Elias was just finishing his dinner before he was told there was a battle going on at Bunker Hill. Alarmed, he immediately ran to get his gear on. As he was putting on his dark blue assassin robes, with a white vest on under it and dark blue pants, a man knocked on his door. It was his friend Henry, a local thief who gathered information for him on the occasion.

"Elias, I got you a horse and some people to fight with you. Only 12, but it's more than nothing." Henry said.

"Thank you, Henry, bu-" Elias said, before Henry cut him off.

"Go to Bunker Hill. People are gatherin' there to fight the British. Hurry!"

"Alright, thank you. Stay hidden and safe. Get all the people you can to safety before they start reaching the shore."

Elias rushed out the door, putting on his hidden blade and making sure his sword was still in the sheath. He hopped on a horse and began riding to Bunker Hill.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Elias got to the Hill just as the fighting began with only 12 men at his side. Just as he showed up, he caught the glimpse of a small group of Redcoats preparing to fire at a line of rebels.

"Alright, go get them!" Elias screamed, sending his men to take out the Redcoats.

Elias hopped off his horse and drew his sword, running with them and assisting in the fight for Bunker Hill. His men ran into the soldiers, thrusting with their bayonets and shooting them close-ranged. There were a few left, and Elias ran at one with his back to him. He jumped, grabbed his shoulder as he was running into him, and thrusted his sword through his back making it poke out his stomach. Elias tried to pull his sword out, but just kicked the man over and pulled it out as he fell. The remaining 2 Redcoats turned to him, but Elias's men dealt with them.

As this small skirmish ended, a mass of cannons go off and Elias sees some more British soldiers coming. He and his men prepare.

"Mary! Did you see that? Oh my days, that was maybe my finest work, wouldn't you say? Oh, except for France. Now, THAT, was my best performance." Logan grabbed a dead redcoat's hat, and wiped the blood off of his shotel. He nods at the drummer, his classic smile hinting at trouble. "Mary?" No response. Logan frowns, and his eyes widen as he spots Mary, a rag doll in the chaos of battle.

The British are pushing the Americans back.

The rebels are retreating.

An infantry unit approaches them, and Mary is still on the ground. Why won't she get up. "Stupid bitch." He muttered, and throws a smoke bomb into the middle of the field. Logan dashes out and grabs Mary with strength he never had before, and hauled her up on his shoulder. "Wake up, war's not over." He said with a grin. He sprints past the retreating men, and makes his way to cover of Prescott's convoy, laying her down. Prescott is about to ask what happened to her, but he notices the bone sticking out in her neck, and puts his hat across his chest. "Wake up, dammit." He splashes cold water over her face, and shakes her shoulders, a grin forming across his face. "No times for games, Mary." He flips her forehead. "Logan-" Prescott begins sadly, but Logan starts laughing, water in his eyes, and slaps Mary across the face. "Wake up you stupid whore! We've got work to do!". Bullets fly as the British approach, and everyone flees. Except Logan.

They were losing the fight.

Elias had lost all but 4 of his men and he himself had gotten close to taking a bayonet to the chest. As he was calling his men to retreat with the rest of the rebel forces, Elias had noticed a smoke bomb go off. He was intrigued, but chose not to interfere.

Not knowing where to exactly go, Elias searched for his horse and was telling his men to go with the rest of the forces when a bullet grazed his right side, cutting fabric and even drawing blood. A second bullet, coming from the same company the first bullet did, and hit the top of Elias's left shoulder, immediately drawing blood. This would be the shot that would knock Elias off his horse and onto the ground, knocking the wind out of him and leaving him dazed...

Logan was furiously trying to shove Mary's neck back into place, when a bullet caught him in the lobe of his ear, jolting him. "What the f-" He stood up, quickly, and narrowed his eyes at the oncoming battalions of redcoats. Prescott was screaming something about shooting them in the whites of their eyes, but Logan could see it; the battle was over. We had limited supplies, and the British just kept coming. The rest of the rebels had pulled back without him, but he spotted a dazed soldier on the ground. His hatred was fuming, so he grabbed Mary, and slung her over his horse. He rides over to the soldier, and slaps him in the face. "C'mon lad. Best get out of here while your balls are intact."
