| "Oh come now." Bryan said with a teasing edge to his voice. "I didn't go that hard." | |

| "You don't have to go hard on a woman's first time, Bryan" Darcey said with a laugh before she looked down at Bryan, and smiled. | |

| "And it's not like I destroyed you, either." Bryan teased again, smiling up at her. "I was as gentle as I possibly could have been." | |

| "Well, it was amazing" Darcey said happily. She snuggled up to Bryan, just wanting to cuddle. | |

| Bryan smiled and closed his eyes while his arms wrapped around her body, keeping her close to him. | |

| Darcey felt the darkness of sleep wash over her yet again. Bryan's arms wrapped around her made her feel so safe, and loved. | |

Bryan too felt sleep drag at him yet again and gave in, nestling his head against the top of Darcey's own before he fell silent, his breathing falling into the rhythm of sleep.

| Darcey sat at the Old Avery, looking over the crowd as she thought of the upcoming fight with Assassins. When her food finally arrived, she ate as if she had never been fed. | |

| Bryan had actually went back to his ship to get his journal before he headed over to the Old Avery on his word that he'd meet Darcey there. Once he was inside, he looked for her table and plopped down on the other side, setting the journal casually on the table before he ordered his own food and turned to Darcey, a hand still on the leather cover. "All the information I've got on the Twins." | |

| "So when do we strike, and what is the plan" Darcey asked curiously before taking another bite of her steak. She had some interest in the journal, but she was more interested in her food. | |

| Bryan thought for a bit. Then he answered just as his food got to him. "I've been thinking we strike in about a month. It'll be getting cold soon and we could use that to our advantage. Even the Snakes have to seek warmth in cold weather." He cleared his throat and stripped off a bit of the steak that had been planted in front of him. "As for a plan, well, obviously don't get killed." In other words, he didn't have one yet. | |

| "Sounds good enough to me. I just think we need to come up with a better plan than trying not to get killed" Darcey said with a laugh. She had never thought of using the elements against the Assassins. It was always just blade, bomb, canon, and sword. She wasn't exactly a tactical thinker, or one for strategies, let alone plans. | |

| Bryan gave a chuckle, chewing on the meat thoughtfully before he scooped up some potatoes and shoved them into his mouth. "I'll think of something." He said with a shrug before he took a drink of his mead. | |

| "Here's a random idea: what if we try to pit them against each other? That way, they kill each other, and we get to see a free show" Darcey said before pushing her empty plate aside, and having a sip of her drink.

| Bryan thought for a moment before he shook his head. "It's an idea, but they're too close to one another. They'd see through a ruse like that from what the whispers around town have said." | |

| "Damn it. I was hoping we could separate them somehow, make it easier to dispose of them" Darcey said with a sigh. She scratched her head for a moment in thought before taking another sip of her drink. | |

| Bryan gave a small shrug of his shoulders and munched on his food some more. "We'll figure out a way." He said. "Templars always find a way." | |

| "I suppose you're right" Darcey said with a sigh. She was actually afraid of going up against the twin cobras, but she really wanted to be there for Bryan. | |

| Bryan looked up at her for a moment before he offered a reassuring smile. "It'll be okay." he said, taking a sip of his drink before he bit back into the steak on his plate. | |

| "I hope so. I really don't want to lose you" Darcey said softly before she took another sip from her drink. "You're actually my only friend, and my first and only lover." | |

| "Right, well I've got some work to do. See you around, Bryan." Darcey paid what she owed, and made her way back to her ship. | |

| Meanwhile...
A young man in clothes very much resembling that of a pirate shifted his gaze from the man to the woman and he watched as she walked away, her feet carrying her to the docks. Behind him, movement told of someone approaching and the way that the person carried themselves told him that they were skilled in moving silently. No words passed between him and the new arrival. Instead, the air was thick with silence. Then words were spoken, the voice soft, as though its owner didn't want to give their position away. "Is that the one?" He soon answered, his voice calm and just as soft as the one who had spoken first. "It is, brother."
Silence balanced between them again and the other shifted, crouching down next to the young man. He could feel the other one nodding back toward Old Avery. "And him?" "His life isn't important. It's what he's been writing in that journal that is." The head of his brother turned and he could feel the young man's greenish-blue eyes boring into his skin. "So the Master doesn't care if we kill them both?"
He himself shook his head and rose from where he crouched, the wind catching the bottom of his outfit and tugging at his hair. "He only cares that we get the journal." He said, watching with blue eyes as his brother rose from his own crouch and joined him in the wind. The young man let silence fill the space between him and his brother for a time before he looked over at his twin. "By any means necessary." With the agreement of his brother, the pair turned away from the edge of the roof and walked away from Old Avery, disappearing down the side of the building and into the throng.
Bryan looked up as the wind tugged his own hair, his eyes staring up at the building where, unknown to him, two Assassins had been watching. He narrowed his eyes, untrusting of his senses. Clearing his throat, Bryan finished his meal before he paid and headed back to his own ship to prepare, the journal tucked into his belt. He would have to remember to leave it on his ship before they enacted a plan.

| Darcey watched her men working on the ship, and smiled happily. What the Phantom Wake lacked in size and power, it made up for in speed. The old white sails had been taken down, and replaced with black sails. Darcey was blissfully unaware of the imminent threat of the twin Assassins. | |

| The twins were devising a plan to get Bryan's journal at the same instant Bryan was trying to think of a plan to confront and kill the Assassins. It was like they knew that a fight could not be avoided and while Bryan prepared himself, the Twins were back in their hideout in the back, training for whatever would happen. Each one would give their idea on what to do and the other would combat it with a scenario, saying the most likely of things that could possibly happen. | |
