Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) Empty
PostSubject: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyTue Dec 01, 2015 1:17 am

Thunder boomed outside of the storefront, the sound of heavy rain battering against the windows echoing through the dark space. Shelves filled with non-perishables were briefly illuminated as a flash of lightning raced across the sky. A hooded figure sat upon a rain-battered roof, the sounds of water draining into a gutter and down a pipe filling his ears while rain drops rolled off the very tip of his hood.

The dark colors of his clothes blended in well with the dark night. Even the small holster that sat on his right wrist and the arrows that they held blended well with the darkness. Another bolt of lightning filled the sky, followed swiftly by an unusually loud clap of thunder and movement caught his sharp eye below.

A dark figure looked around from the front of the store before setting to work on the door, the movements rather frantic. The hooded figure reached a hand around to his back and dislodged his metal-constructed bow as well as an arrow with his other hand. In a single fluid motion, he'd strung the arrow to his bow as the rain drove on. He'd done this many a time, assassinations and vigilante work both.

But this was no ordinary thief. The Arrow had been tipped off that the Storefront called Kroger would be getting robbed by a man who had been described as 'wearing a Red Cross.' A Templar. The Arrow had been tasked with confronting the man and gathering as much information as he could and if that meant injuring the man, sobeit. That was what he was tasked with and it was what he was going to deliver.

The Templar had finished vandalizing the front doors of the store and had been about to go in when an arrow caught him in the back, the shaft quivering while the man let out a pained cry just as a weight pushed him from behind. Together, the two men crashed through the door's window, the sound of glass shattering being overtaken by the loud clap of thunder rumbling outside.

Shards of glass flew everywhere, scattering across the floor of the market while the hooded figure drew another arrow and took aim at the man below him, arrowtip pointed between his eyes. "You've been stealing from stores all across Cincinnati," he spat, his voice growling and his eyes sparkling with malice. "What could the Templars gain from this?" The man shook from fear, his eyes wide at the sight of the arrow pointed between his eyes.

"ANSWER ME!!" The Arrow bellowed, shifting forward so that the arrowtip pressed against skin, the metal no doubt cold and earning a cry of fear from the man below.
"Supplies!" He cried, his voice catching as though he were about to cry.
What a child, The Arrow thought pathetically as the man continued.

"We're supplying our troops!"
"And you couldn't buy them like any normal citizen?"
"The stores won't supply us anymore," the man objected. Not since a couple of our boys refused to pay their tab at The Rusty Bucket."
"So you went to thieving?" The Hood growled, his eyes burning and narrowing into slits, though the man couldn't see it.

"We had no choice!"
"Well luckily," the Arrow stated coolly. "Whatever message you've been carrying won't ever reach your Commanders." The man froze and the air fell silent, save for the pounding of the rain against the windows. The sound of an arrow being pulled back filled the space as the world itself seemed to quiet. Then the twang of the arrow being loosed rose up and the shaft quivered as it buried itself within the man's skull, killing him as its tip found his brain.

The Arrow pulled his arrow free, a fountain of blood spraying up as he used the man's uniform to clean off his arrow before the Arrow turned and climbed out of the busted window, taking care not to cut himself. He looked up at the sky for a moment as he shoved his arrow back into the quiver and re-strung his bow to his back.

With a running start, the hooded figure raced toward the building opposite him and hauled himself quickly up and onto the roof. There, he glanced behind him for a brief moment before he bolted across the rooftops and disappeared into the night.

Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyWed Dec 02, 2015 12:20 am

From the moment the Arrow had made his way in the store, a svelte shadow was watching over him. She was supposed to take care of him, or at least was supposed by herself to take care of him. She was the Red Shadow, like a red piece of jewelry. A red ruby, of course, tainted blood red. She waited for him to come out under the thundering rain. Red was Arrow’s companion. They were in the same rank within the Creed and they had years now of being trained together. They knew each other like they knew themselves. She ran her hand on her wet shoulder to take off a bit of water before she looked down at the market.

It had been years now that Ruby was in the Creed. It all started that night, during her prom. Trying to get her friend out of trouble, she found herself fighting, dress and tie against a guy who had made a big mistake against her: bothering her friend until it turned almost criminal. She had to keep him away from her until proper authorities had come to her. It had been scary, but at some point it simply was… like the weirdest prom dance she ever had. Ruby always was some kind of young lone kid. She had not much friends in her school and never had many boyfriends. Two or three in her whole life, and it never went further than hand holding. Even then, all guys went away after a moment. Handling Ruby’s debit was kind of really difficult for them, or for any of all people Ruby ever knew, even her own step-sister. She always thought that she had went away because of her bad attitude. It was kind of sad to think so. But maybe it really was the reason of her going away. Because it always was the reason of people going away…

That very night, just when Ruby had knock off the guy with bare hands, her short hair now all messed up and her dress all ripped apart, the poor girl had the violent urge to cry. She had messed up the last day of her secondary years by being a complete monster… she was just about to run away when she heard clapping behind her. As she turned to see who had witness her act, she found herself right in front of a hooded man, who was smiling t her before he walked to her. Ruby stepped back, ready to attack a second time, before he softly started talking to her. She was full of rough talent. There was potential in her. What about entering the… Brotherhood?

Now the girl was part of the Creed, as the Red Shadow, or simply Red. She was the bloody piece of jewelry. That’s where she met Aaron, or else said The Arrow, an incredible arrow shooter right about her age. They became friends really quickly.

Red was thinking of that really moment when they first started to talk when she saw the man escaping from the store. She looked at him a moment before she quickly started following him. Her black and red suit, leather made and really useful not to get stuck with was the darkest sport in the night. Lightning reflected on her suit and she prayed for the man not seeing her. When she finally could reach him, still running, she looked at him to be sure the blood on his outfit was not his before she nodded.

“Great job, Arrow” she finally said to have his attention, raising an eyebrow with a playful smile on her lips.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyWed Dec 02, 2015 12:50 am

"Bloody Templars were thieving all those stores," he answered upon hearing her voice, his dark eyes searching the rooftops. He'd halted and now had a clear view of the interstate. Many cars and trucks drove past, the sound of the vehicles creating a Doppler effect as they drove by. The Arrow always found it interesting when that happened. "With their messenger dead, they won't be receiving any new supplies anytime soon, which is good for the Brotherhood."

Aaron was also remembering the first time he'd met Red. He'd first seen her walk into class, shoulders tensed as though someone would leap on her at any moment. Aaron had sensed she'd been a fighter and when he'd been paired with her for sparring practice, he'd been proven right. They'd nearly matched blow-for-blow, although he'd been training himself in karate and was excellent at hand-to-hand combat. They'd hit it off pretty well and remained constant friends throughout their training years.

Red had been made an Assassin at the same time Aaron had been and they'd proven to their former Mentors and Masters that they had what it took to become a team, taking on missions that required a group. However, with his skills in archery and karate and her own skills, the pair had soon proven that they could handle any group mission by themselves. They worked well together and had been permanently paired as a team. He enjoyed her company and the fact that, after he'd come back from his own missions that she'd tag along on, she would check him over for injuries and it made him smile.

She always did worry about him, even as they were progressing in their training. Many people had teased that they were a couple, which would earn a response from both of them. He would state that they were not and Red would agree. Of course, he suspected that no one believed them and now he was beginning to think that maybe they were right. He was more in tune with Red than any other student he'd been paired with for sparring practice when he'd first started and them being permanently paired as a duo only made them closer. Aaron turned toward her, his eyes glinting from beneath his hood as thunder rumbled once more overhead, the sound of rain splattering against the rooftop filling the air. "We should probably report back to the Bureau. They'll want this news."

Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyWed Dec 02, 2015 2:13 am

"Got it" she said while looking in front of her under her hood before she frowned a little. “But thieving… that’s kind of weird! Why would they? They’re acting like spoiled children upon bad parents”

Red also was bothered upon the fact that everyone would tease them with the fact that they would make one good couple. But that was kind of embarrassing and it would make her shy, bit still, just enough so she could hide it well. Those claims were almost immediately refuted by her, saying that they would be the worst couple of all times since they knew each other for so long. She even remembered one day being asked what was wrong with Aaron that made her think like that. She gave no clear answer before telling people she was way too sleepy to stay with them any longer and went away.

Even with that, Ruby still was a pretty feminine being. She had no more of any fancy makeup or sweet dresses and heels like when she was at her prom, and that made an actual thing about her. Was she really that feminine? people used to ask, and she used to pretend not to hear them but still was a little bit shocked. Why did they ask about that? What was the point? The only one that made her no problem to be teased with about that was Aaron. They often did get in fights together because of that, but never one of them really was angry at the other, but still they would mimic they were. Red always was pretending to win because of her charms and her skills, even when the winner obviously was Aaron: she always told him she would let him win because he would have cried like a baby if she wouldn’t. But taking it seriously, they both were at least as good at fighting, so when it came to compare them, chance was the only thing that could make one of them win upon the other.

Aaron was a karate pro, just as Red was, but she had learned to use her body to swing herself in and out of battle as she liked, confusing the enemy before she took him down. She also was a good snipper and sneaker. When they were younger, Aaron would often ask her to create diversion while he would shoot from far away. If she wasn’t making the opponent go totally mixed up with her battle moves, she would simply walk to them and talk to the ones Aaron was going to take from behind, just as if she was flirting with them. Red was a natural beauty but often the female members of the Creed would force her to put on makeup so she could go and distract the prey as The Arrow would strike. At some point, she decided not to be only the mere distraction and to fight back to help her friend. She would silently infiltrate buildings and reunions places, take down the guards and bodyguards with no sound and permit to Aaron to make his way to the target.

She finally put her hand on her own hip, looking at The Arrow for a moment before she asked: “Was it all? Was there nothing more than a simple thief? That’s weird of them… I would have swear they at least were going to send more than one person at the time…”

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyWed Dec 02, 2015 2:49 am

"Who can tell what the Templars are thinking?" Aaron asked with a shrug of his shoulders, water dripping off his clothes and washing away the blood that had splattered across when he'd made his kill. He himself was troubled by the fact that the Templars had sent out just one man. His eyes narrowed slightly and he slowly made his way toward their HQ, the place they had both wound up at when they'd been selected by an Assassin to be an Assassin.

The Templar he'd killed had been a messenger and had no doubt had a letter of importance on his person that would have gone straight to a Templar Commander. Now it would be lost and the body cleared by morning. Aaron had a way of bringing the authorities with him when he made a kill, or a simple capture. He'd always been helpful to the police and at one point in time, the day they had both been sworn in as Master Assassins, had a sherif waiting for him at their place, sitting on the sofa as though it was his house when it wasn't.

Aaron didn't think nothing of the fact that he and Red shared a house together. It was typical of duo Assassins that were permanently linked together, though some Assassins teased him that one day, he'd wind up married to the woman whom he shared a house with. It had always made his cheeks burn almost as hot as the sun itself and put him in a sort of murderous mood. Thankfully, he hadn't killed anyone except the Templars thanks to the Creed...and to Red. She had had to pull him off of one of her friends that they had invited over for the new year and calmed him down really quickly while her friend recovered.

The thought of Red reprimanding the poor girl made him grin. She was the perfect match for him and he knew it. But they'd known each other for so long that he didn't really think that they would get together and that was fine by him. "After we report in, we can get takeout and head home. I was thinking KFC. Or Taco Bell."

“Healthy. Raise hands if you think that this man right here eats like a pig” she teased him, raising a hand before she looked around. “Oh! Seems like I’ve got 50% of the votes, which means that you at least eat half as a pig!”

“I’m just messing with you” Red finally said with a smile at the corner of her lips. “Taco Bell will be just fine” She started walking with him before she looked up in front of them.

Ruby’s hands were hanging to each sides of her body before she putted them behind her back, smiling at Aaron. That man was incredibly talented, she always told herself that. Their Mentor long told him so, before he would say the same about her. They both were, even as teenagers, really disciplined and good little fighters. When they had to get in a fight one against the other, Aaron would often win, even if she’d pretend the contrary. She smiled at that idea and turned to him.

“The last one that reaches the HQ pays the meal tonight!”
she teased him before she started running, not even leaving the time to Aaron to realise what was going on. Running was her field. She learned to be a free runner within the Guild, just as she thought she wasn’t quick and light enough to run over walls and through windows. The water made the roof they both were in a bit slippery, but her gothic high heels weren’t just normal heels she could have get killed with. They were as large as normal boots, making her run way more comfortable than running in plain shoes or tiny thin heels. She wasn’t able to walk with those. So picturing herself running on rooftops with that kind of shoes… she smiled as she jumped to another roof before she looked over her shoulder to see where was Aaron behind her.

Aaron grinned as he watched Red bolt away, the sound of thunder rumbling overhead earning a shake of the head from him. He crouched low before he sprang forward. Sure, running was her field, but it was also his own, despite having had trouble with it in training. Luckily, it was a straight shot from here to the HQ and he'd intended on buying dinner anyway, so really, he took his time so as to not be out of breath for the report.

From here, Aaron could see the building with the sign flashing in the front Shaded Hotel. It was their front. They were posing as a Hotel for weary travelers and they had an entire upstairs that was exactly like an actual hotel. Quite large and fancy-looking, though reasonably priced. Aaron remembered that, during his and Red's training, they'd had two men of the Red Cross stop in for a room for the night. Of course the Assassins had to keep up the front and allowed them to rent out one room for the night. Neither one of them left.

It was useful for getting rid of unwanted guests, like Templars. Those two never even knew what hit them. It made him smile with a small nod of his head. It was a marvelous idea and a great plan. As he'd been told, many HQs across the States were posing as Hotels.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyThu Dec 03, 2015 10:33 pm

Ruby smiled when she saw him running too before she turned back to face right in front of her to run as fast as she could. Aaron was like her shadow, even if she was the said Shadow. He was always with her, and even if she felt alone, he was there. He always was. She long saw him as a big brother, the weird replacement of her step-sister going away from her. But with the time, she wasn’t really sure what to think about him.

When she first entered the Guild, his deep brown eyes had been scary to her. He was like too close yet so far from her. And every girl of the place seemed to find him cute. She decided not to fall in the trap before she realised they already were friends. He had a way of fighting and moving around that was similar than hers. It was like she had find the other half of her self that she had lost when her sister had move away. As soon as she got that, she always was with him, protecting him as well as he would over her. People called her the Shadow, because he was like Aaron’s, always there behind him. Slowly it became her real code name and, as she also was a bloody red ruby, they finally added “red” to her name, making her the Red Shadow.

When they grew up, she felt a little bit more worried about him. She had no idea why, but the fact that girls and women would often get around him made her feel weird. She would just ignore it and pretend she herself had no men trying to ask her on a date. Red was herself a pretty wonderful individual. Her hair was cut short but not too much, long enough so she could dye the end of her hair red. Her eyes always seemed to be themselves a deep red tone, even if it was only because of her clothing reflecting in them. It gave her a weird mystic look.

She finally arrived at the Shaded Hotel, proud of herself before she turned to wait for The Arrow, waiting not too long before he came at her. Aaron was a speed runner, just as she was. He was incredibly talented in many fields of the Creed, if it wasn’t all of them.

“Don’t get cold!” she finally told him after a moment of having no idea what to tell him. His clothing weren’t as leathery then hers… he could actually catch a cold if he did nothing by the time they would get to their common house.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptyThu Dec 03, 2015 10:58 pm

Aaron dropped down from the roof, falling into the Creed's famous roll before rising up out of the kneeling position with a grin on his face, the only thing that seemed to light up the shadows under his hood. "Who says I'll catch cold?" He rumbled as he walked past her, his head craning to look at her face for a moment before he swept into the hotel and out of the rain.

From inside, the rain's pounding lessened to a soft drumming sound and even the sound of thunder lessened once he'd gotten indoors. He took a deep breath before he straightened out his clothing and headed for their Master's chambers, hidden safely away behind the counter in a secret room that they'd had especially designed for their city. He nodded to the two ladies who were in deep conversation on the sofa in the lounge, though they didn't bother noticing it.

Aaron cleared his throat before stepping behind the counter and waiting outside what appeared to be a doorframe into another room. In reality, it was just the entrance to a hallway that led back into a well hidden room, as though into a bathroom but it wasn't that. "Master, I've come to report in from the mission."
"Has Red come with you?" The voice was just as mysterious as Aaron's own, if not less. Aaron had been known for his mysterious ways of speaking. He'd talk normally when among the other Assassins or alone with Red in their common house. But once he confronted enemies, Templars and crooks alike, his voice would always deepen.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptySat Dec 05, 2015 7:35 pm

Ruby had followed him, her wet hands behind her wet back. A lightning made the sky look like daytime a moment before the sound of thunder came at everyone. Many Assassins loved the heavy rain, just as she did. It was easier for everyone to hide when they sky was pitch black, even during normal light time. And plus, only Assassins were crazy enough to go on freerunning missions by those times. Even Templars often saw the rain as a calm moment, forgetting Assassin had no problems in the water. That’s when they always got killed by behind. When they thought they were safe…

When Red heard the mysterious voice talking at Aaron, she looked at him. After a moment, she took off her hood and ran her hand in her short brown hair, the red tips floating a moment around her face before she nodded.

“I have” she said after a moment.

Soon enough, she was only called as Red. And it wasn’t that bad. She went back behind Aaron to hear what was going to happen. Why were Templars stealing stuff like mere thieves? She looked at her boots before realising water was dripping down her outfit to the ground. She looked at where she and Aaron had walked to come to the voice. They had left a little watery path. Oops, she thought, wishing no one had realized.

Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptySat Dec 05, 2015 7:57 pm

Silence hung thick in the air, the only sound to break it was the drumming of water on the building. Then the Master spoke once again, his voice rumbling from the hallway. "Let's hear it, then." At the summons, Aaron moved from the doorframe into the hallway, following it back into their Master's quarters. A desk sat at the opposite end of the wall, half-hidden by the doorframe. A bed settled against the back wall, completely hidden from view while a painting hung opposite of the bed, in full view of the doorway into the hallway.

Aaron cast his dark brown gaze upon the painting, noticing the beautiful detail of Masyaf, the Assassins' first home that had been abandoned when Templars attacked it. Aaron's gaze was torn from the painting toward the desk, where a rather broad-shouldered man twisted around in his chair to face the two, a leg crossed over one of his knees and his hands folded together, elbows resting against the chair's armrests and his eyes gazing intently on the pair. "Well?"

Aaron straightened and lifted his head high as he began to describe the information he'd gotten from the Templar he'd killed. Aaron also described how he'd noticed a sealed letter on the Templar's person before the kill and how the Templars had resorted to stealing supplies like common thieves. "The police will clear the body in the morning," he ended, his voice filled with certainty. "And the letter will remain within their archives, safe from Templar hands."
"How can you be so certain that the Police won't investigate the letter further?" Questioned the Master.

Aaron knew that their Master had a right to be cautious. Some of the police officers had become corrupted; well paid by the Templars to gather information for them. However, Aaron had killed many of those corrupted police with Red at his side and now the force was clean once more. "You forget, Master, that I have a man on the inside of the force." The Master shifted in his chair, the back of it rocking backward to lean against the wood desk.
"Ah yes," he purred in slight amusement. "Officer Kyle Matrics."

Matrics had been the first cop to ever pursue Aaron after he'd been seen making a kill. The officer had cornered Aaron into an alley and would have arrested the Arrow if he hadn't explained their cause. From then, Kyle had sworn to help in any way he could, even if it meant keeping the other officers from further investigation of any Templar documents that found their way into the Police station.

PostSubject: Re: Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller)   Hollow Blood(Closed with GhostFaceKiller) EmptySun Dec 06, 2015 1:04 am

Red looked at the man at the desk before she looked up at her friend all the time they talked together. She already knew about that man within the police forces, who helped Aaron from time to another. It was really useful to have police people on their sides: Assassins often had to break the rules to achieve something that would help lots of people. If it wasn’t murder, they would get information about people, would hack others and would go at some places to stop military weapons to get in the hands of normal people.

She remembered that time she heard about a weapon shipping going to the dark side of Chicago, Chiraq. The plan was to give to people there the access to military use weapons and to create panic within the whole USA. People over there lived in violence and had social situation way worse than many countries in South Africa. Giving them the access to weapons, mixed up with alcohol and drugs, would have probably created one of the worse genocides in the whole USA. The plan was to frighten people and force them to buy Abstergo’s weapons, since they secretly worked in military supplies. When the Red Cross would have into their hands a gigantic amount of cash, they would have just went away until the whole country had been teared into parts. Right before the shipping was sent to Chicago, the Creed had sent agents to stop Abstergo on putting those weapons in a plane. Just in time it had been, indeed… If the police wasn’t on their side, they would have get trouble infiltrating the airport and taking down the Templar’s agents to then destroy those weapons. And by the same way, keeping a couple of them…

She looked at the painting after a moment too. That place, Masyaf, was one of the many places she and Aaron had to know during their Assassin training. The historical events were almost as fascinating as the fact of having a real Creed to their days. They used to look at books together and try to remember dates and names by heart. Masyaf was one of their one-day study lesson. They had remembered everything about it. They also had learned a few words translated to English from Arabic that Altaïr would have said when he was alive. To change subject when they were talking nonsense to normal topic when there was someone else, they used to whisper Alssalamat Walssalam to each other, which was the infamous Safety and Peace often written as Altaïr’s own words in the books they’ve got. When one wasn’t feeling good, one would say: Tarak Aleab' Alkhass Bik, which was Let go your Burden. Again, some of the Legend's words, just as when they had to separate themselves, which, when they were younger, would happen often enough for them to feel ill. La Shai'a Waqi'on Motlaq Bal Kollon Momken would be their farewell words. The Creed, Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted in Altaïr’s native language.

The Master took a breath and breathed out a sigh with a word. "Well," he sighed, his gaze darting from Red to Aaron. "You did your mission and I cannot fault you for that. Now, go on home. The Creed will contact you should another contract arise." Aaron bowed from the waist down toward the Master, wishing the older man well before he turned and headed back down the hallway and into the lobby once more.

Aaron remained silent for a moment before he turned to watch Red. "Time to get some dinner, then." He said simply, heading for the doors that led into the hotel. "Officer Matrics will contact me once the sealed letter is in their archives and let me know if it said anything important." He always did, anyway. And that Sheriff was the first to let Aaron know if there was a crime taking place. Aaron smiled.

One thing he appreciated from his partner was that she stuck by his side on everything. Even if she wasn't needed to do anything on contracts, she tagged along anyway just to make sure he was safe. And she tagged along behind him whenever he was off fighting crime. He was what one would have called a vigilante. Not really a hero, but not really a villain either. Police couldn't arrest him and Templars couldn't kill him. He was too skilled. "Anything specific you want from KFC?"

She bowed just as she did before they got out of the office. She took a last look upon the painting and smiled a little. Altaïr had been their long time dead master for many years. How could a man, dead and buried for so much time now was one of those from which they had learned the more? She turned back to see in front of them when they finally went for the doors. He told him it was diner time before he talked about the man who was going to help them. She never saw him much: Aaron was the one who got in contact with him. She just saw him a few times. If Aaron did trust this man, she did too. Just as if she would have trusted someone, he would have until the contrary would have been proven.

She looked up at him after a moment before she smiled. “Nah. Just take whatever and let’s get back home. We’ll both catch a cold if we don’t go back quickly!” Red gave him a playful smiled when she opened the door that led outside and stepped to the other side. Her black leather boots hit the ground and made water splash a bit everywhere. “It’s the apocalypse!” she said while looking down her feet. That puddle was deep enough for her to be called an apocalypse. She turned to him after a moment. “You do really trust that man, that Officer Matrics. How much time will it take for him to call you back about that letter? It will drive me insane! I really wanted to know right along what it said!” If Ruby had a big default, it was for her to be way too curious about that kind of stuff. Having been alone, she would have taken the letter just to read it before anyone.

Aaron gave a chuckle and looked at her face briefly before leading the way along toward KFC, which, thankfully, was close to the house that they shared. "He's usually very punctual," he answered, tugging down his hood as rain began to drip from its tip, slightly obscuring his vision. "He knows that, if he finds anything that could be of use to us, he is to contact me immediately upon finding that information.

"However, if it's cryptic, he takes a maximum of a week to contact me. Luckily for us, he's got friends that deal in the Black Market, one of which got himself into trouble and I had to bust him out of it."
Aaron shook his head at the memory. The youth had pissed off the wrong people within the Black Market and Aaron had been the one to save him. Of course, he had told the officer about it. He wasn't one to keep things like that from Matrics.

"Food, then home. What sort of drink do you want?" Aaron was very good about guessing certain things concerning Red's favorite foods. However, whenever they went somewhere different, he always asked what drink she wanted, as it changed almost every time.

“Well! I’ve seen too much for one life! A police officer getting in trouble because he helps you, but also because he got contacts within the Black Market! Impressing!” She looked at him, sincerely surprised. At first she could have sounded sarcastic, but she really was impressed by the man getting so much trouble to help Aaron. She said no words for a moment before she looked away, speaking more quietly. “We got educated not to cheat. Cheating is a bad thing! If you get caught from going to A to C instead of going A-B-C, you get into trouble. But why would it be that bad if it’s only a way to get to what you want quicker? Why should we really punish people of trying to find a short cut to a path too long to take? I think that his work isn’t less than a good work even if he gets involved with us and the Black Market. If that’s the only reason how justice works, then be it!”

She kept quiet for a moment before she turned to him and smiled. “What about root beer?” Last time, she had come back home with exotic Japanese drinks she had got at a market in the downtown. Today, it seemed like she was going for something more conventional. If he had to adapt her drinks by himself every time, he would have turned insane. By chance, she told him before he did go all weird.

Aaron gave a small chuckle and held the door to KFC open for her once he'd made it across the street. "And the funniest thing is that Matrics' friend wasn't even a cop," he said with a laugh. It was true. Matrics was the only Officer that Aaron knew, but the young man he'd saved from the Black Market thugs had been a civilian.

Even now, Aaron was having trouble with the fact that the youth he'd saved was still dabbling in the Black Market. It was strange that one who had gone through trouble with them before would continue to risk their lives. He shook his head in disbelief. "I'm actually still trying to figure out why Matrics hasn't convinced his friend to leave the Black Market."

She looked at him for a second, entering, surprised. “That is indeed something strange!” she finally said while the man at the counter was giving them a funny look. Red looked at him before she turned back to Aaron. “If I knew someone in there, I would do my best to get that one out. I mean… kinda obvious choice as for me!”

She waved at the man who was looking strange at them before he asked: “Are those cosplays?” the guy asked while staring at their wet outfits. Red rolled eyes under her hood before she took it off. “Yes they are! We were working since last year on them! How are they?” She was getting used to that kind of stuff, but still… she frowned when the man added: “You two look amazing! You sure make a cool geek couple. What are those from?” Red gave an awkward look at Aaron. Do something! he could read in her reddish brown eyes before she turned back to the man: “It’s from an underground webcomic. No one knows them” “Sad thing. How can I help you?” She sighed in relief. At least he wasn’t going to ask about their couple anymore.

Aaron gave a small laugh and decided to still answer the guy's question despite the red beneath the shadows of his hood. "Well, for starters, we would like some chicken and a rootbeer for the young lady here and a Dr. Pepper for me. Sides...hmmm...mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese will do just fine." In truth, Aaron wanted to get out of the KFC building and on their way home.

He didn't often go into restaurants dressed like this, but whenever he did, he would always tell everyone that he was cosplaying Oliver Queen as the Green Arrow, from the TV show. Aaron shuffled through his wallet and pulled out the money he would need before placing it down onto the counter in front of the youth.

“No prob’ sir!” The man wrote down that they had asked and left the two Assassins alone. Ruby had blushed, frowning in disagreement. “I hate when they call us a couple! Is it because we both got hoods on?” She finally turned to him and talked lower, almost in whispers: “So. Any thoughts about that man sending his friend to the Black Market without even trying to get him out? I mean, why is that bothering you? Is the friend a small child or a pregnant woman or something?”

She knew something was really bothering her friend right at that moment. And she couldn’t leave him thinking about something that probably was stressing him, or at least bothering him like that. She looked around and as the man was asking the commands, she walked a bit away, still looking right into his eyes. “Tell me what’s going on with that...” She also really was curious about that. Maybe that man had his reasons, but still, she probably wanted as much as Aaron to know about those said reasons.

Aaron gave a soft chuckle and turned around, his back against the counter as they were waiting on their food. "Neither of those things," he answered in the same hushed tone. "I still have my doubts about Kyle saying the youth was a friend. The way he'd acted when I'd taken care of the thugs was rather...violent, as though one would react to the overprotectiveness of a big brother."

Aaron gave a shrug of his shoulders. "And as for people calling us a couple, I think that they see that we go well together." He sounded indifferent, but if she were to look closer, she'd see the blush in his cheeks hidden from the darkness of his hood.

Red violently blushed as his explanation and quickly moved her hand just like if she was trying to get rid of a little flying bug. “Yeah, totally” she said with the more sarcasm she could add to her voice before she just looked away, crossing her arms on her chest. A good couple… yeah right! Totally! Ney! She shook her head as her heart was racing in her chest before she forced herself to calm down.

“So, let’s say he is his the overprotective big brother kind” she continued on the first subject to forget the second one. “Why would he even let someone he cares that much living in such a situation? I mean… I wouldn’t upon you! So why would he?” Red was almost whispering, just to make sure no one could hear them talking that kind of Creed-like subject. That was dangerous in public and she had to try not too, but curiosity was killing her.

Aaron gave a shrug of his shoulders as their drinks were brought out first. He grabbed his Dr. Pepper and handed her her Root-beer before he took a drink and thought on his answer. "Perhaps it's undercover work. You know, like the cops on those tv shows. Maybe his friend is there to scrounge up information." Aaron turned just as the food was brought out and he flicked a finger up under his hood in farewell before he grabbed the bags and motioned for her to follow him as he headed back out into the rain.

Luckily, their common house wasn't far and Aaron began to walk briskly to get out of the rain that was still thundering down. After he rounded a corner, he spotted the familiar gray roof of their shared house. With a sigh of relief, he raced up the concrete that made the walkway to the porch and fiddled for his key. After a while, he growled and turned toward Red before stepping aside and jerking his head toward the door. "Unlock the damn thing, please." He was already feeling the chill of the rain through his clothes and longed to get into something dry.

Undercover! That seemed legit to her! He handed her the root beer and she took it while they were getting away from the restaurant. The rain still was falling like cats and dogs upon them. She was feeling the cold, but not the unpleasant sensation of getting wet clothes sticking to her skin. She quickly gave a look upon Aaron’s clothes. They certainly were becoming wet to him. She did everything not to laugh. Her outfit was a pain when they were out on sunny days, but Aaron’s were pretty much the same thing during raining days. She put her hands right behind herself while walking. He was going to be sick! She told him so and she was so damn right!

She finally saw their house somewhere between the heavy drops. Red sighed softly and laughed. “At least! It seemed to me like we’ve walked over a hundred kilometers!” She jumped over a puddle even if her leather boots wouldn’t get water and she knew it. Getting to the porch, she looked at Aaron trying desperately to open the door, in vain. When he asked her, Ruby laughed and with a military salute: “Sir, yes sir!” She went at the door and took out her copy of the house key from one of the purses attached to her waist. After a few seconds, she manage to open the door, stepping aside to let him enter. After a moment, she frowned and grabbed a piece of his outfit, which was dripping wet. “Told you! If you end up being sick, it will be your fault and your fault only!”

Aaron snorted as he entered the house and set the food on the coffee table in the living room. Th rugs were quite nice as he closed the door, dulling the rain to a soft drumming before he kicked off his boots and proceeded to strip out of his wet clothes. He didn't really care. She'd caught him naked plenty of times before. Now, he carried his wet clothes to the wash and picked out some clean clothes before he dried himself off.

The towel he was using fluffed up his hair and dried his skin before he dressed himself in jeans and an awesome black t-shirt.

With his short hair tousled like that, he looked rather hot, as some girls would put it. He flopped down onto the sofa with a sigh and broke into the food before he rose and quickly retrieved plates from the kitchen.
