Le Fantôme Empty
PostSubject: Le Fantôme   Le Fantôme EmptyFri Jun 26, 2015 4:43 pm

Paris, the most beautiful city in all of France. However, despite its beauty, it harbored dangerous men. The most dangerous men in Paris were the Templars, ruthless men who had no regard for life. Hell, they wanted to enslave the world! "For peace," several have said. Thank God the Assassins knew better. They were the peace keepers, guarding free-will of all mankind, thwarting the Templars at every turn.

Adrien was no different. He was born into the Brotherhood, though not knowing at the time. The Assassin stood on a tall building, looking over the city. It was quite beautiful today. However, it was always on nice days like today that something always went terribly wrong. And it always usually did and Adrien and his fellow Assassins would be driven to act. Adrien breathed out slowly, closing his eyes for a moment to enjoy the beautiful sun. Days like these were rare, since the weather would always be overcast or raining. There was the occasional drizzle and a few fleeting moments of sunshine before it went to shit again.

Adrien sighed, returning his gaze to Paris. "You would be proud, père,"(father) said the Frenchman, his thick French accent telling of his birth. Adrien had studied the history of the Assassins since becoming one himself. Even though he wasn't apart of the one line that always had trouble with parents and siblings, Adrien felt like he'd lost his family unfairly. He'd lost his brother in a fire when they were boys and then, years later, his father followed Jerold to the grave.

At least their deaths have been avenged, he thought, shifting his weight against the roof slightly. Since he'd killed the man who had purposefully set the fire that had killed his older brother and the trap that killed his father, Adrien had risen through the ranks of the Assassins and now was on the verge of becoming a Master Assassin, the rank he'd been told his father had been.

Adrien watched silently the city. That's when Lucien arrived on the roof.

—C'est fait. (It's done)

—Tu l'as tué ? (Do you killed him ?)

(He and all the soldiers of his bodyguards.)

—Comment t'y es tu pris ? (How did do ?)

(Well, they loved wine, and their barrels weren't very well guarded.)

—Bien. (Good.)

Lucien had just kill an important Templar who visited Paris. He killed him on Adrien's order of course. And now, Lucien comes back to his superior to get another mission.

The weather becames quickly cloudy. Adrien stayed pensive.

—Que vais-je devoir faire a présent ? (What must I do now ?)

—La même chose qu'hier. La même chose que demain. Te battre. (The same thing as yesterday. The same thing as tomorrow. Fight.)

Lucien smiled. This sentance sound like a promess of exciting future days. The two men looked the city quietly. Few minutes later, it rained.

(For God's sake, rain again ?!)

The Assassins descended from the roof and walked on Paris's streets. Lucien didn't knew where Adrien took him. Maybe nowhere in particular. City's thoroughfares and places was emptying beacause of rain and the thunderstorm was coming.

Lucien looked around him. He feels a je ne sais quoi in the air. Something strange who makes him on his guard. Adrien seemed natural. Lucien turn his head around frequently to be sure of that no one was following them.

(try not to powerplay)

"Pour l'amour de Dieu, cesser d'être paranoïaque, Lucien."(For God's sake, stop being paranoid, Lucien.) Adrien said in a slightly exasperated tone. He'd taken on Lucien as a partner and understudy when his true Mentor had passed. Killed at the hands of the Templars, as all Assassins were. Pursued and hunted. Adrien could understand Lucien's paranoia. He himself knew the loss of a Mentor. It was shattering, especially to a young Assassin who had been trained since his youth by one person alone. Thankfully, Lucien had been already sworn into the Brotherhood as a full Assassin when his mentor had been killed.

One less thing for him to worry about, he thought. Adrien came to a stop at the corner of a large building, the shadow casting him into coolness while the rain drummed against the stone. His eyes were cast out to the streets beneath Notre Dame, seeing something Lucien could not see. Adrien closed his eyes for a moment before he turned his head to the younger man. "Pendant que vous étiez parti, le Maître a envoyé un oiseau avec une nouvelle mission pour nous." (While you were gone, the Master sent a bird with a new mission for us.) Adrien reached into his jacket, the dark material rippling with the movement.

A few moments later, he pulled out a parchment and handed it to the other Assassin. "Nous sommes à la queue de cet homme. Il a quelque chose d'une grande importance à la Fraternité que nous devons revenir ... par tous les moyens nécessaires." (We are to tail this man. He has something of great importance to the Brotherhood that we must get back...by any means necessary.) Adrien silently let Lucien know that he would prefer to get the item back without killing the man unless they absolutely had to. This was something that must remain in the shadows, as the Master wished it.

(A theft. It shouldn't be too complicated)"

Pickpocketing was the first thing Lucien learned during his training, but it was also a thing he didn't do since a long time ago. He thoughs about how he can take the item without draw attention. The easiest way was to follow the man until he was alone and make him sleep with a sleeping drug. Lucien checked his phantom blade. "Changer le poison par un somnifère doit être faisable. (change poison by a sleeping drug should be feasible)". He got this idea thanks to his sporadic insomnia. Since the lost of his mentor, he make nightmares, and need help to get a refreshing sleep sometimes. Luckily, he went to the apothicary the day before and still have on him a highly concentrated and short-acting sleeping drug. The hardest part was to following the man until the time to act. Lucien hesitate to expose his plan to his partner. He wanted to, but he didn't know if Adrien would though Lucien is still a rookie who need to ask permission before doing something.

"Je sais comment le faire. (I know how to do it)"

Adrien don't replies. He shook his head as an agreement.

Lucien walked in walls's shadow. The noise of his footsteps merged with rain's sound. He was nearly invisible. He was hunting his prey.
Half-hour passed. The man entered in a whorehouse. It was an opportunity.
Lucien climbed the whorehouse's facade and entered through an open window from the first floor. He opened a door or two.

"Degage ! (Get out !)" Say a nude girl who was spanking an old man in a room.

Few minutes later, Lucien found the good room. The whore and the templar's factor were in the bathroom. All the man's stuff was posed on the bed. Lucien searched a moment and found what he was looking for. He was on the point to leave the room when he heared the girl cries.

"Vous me faites mal ! (You hurt me !)"

"Ferme la ou ça ira plus mal encore ! (Shut up or it will get even worse !)"

Lucien thought. "Assassins are supposed to help people. If we can't save a girl from being hit, we should stop doing anything."

"Je vais le regretter. (I'll regret this)"

He entered into the bathroom and bumped the templar to death. The prostitute don't say anything. Lucien gave her his purse.

"Si quelqu'un te demande quelque chose, tu dis que c'est un crime passionel, d'accord ? (If someone ask you anything, you say that it was a crime of passion, alright ?)"

"D'accord. (Alright)."

Lucien left the whorehouse quickly.

"Eh bien, j'ai -presque- fais mon travail. (Well, I -almost- do my job.)"

(again, no power play please. Type out what your character alone does and let me do my own, okay? Razz)

Adrien's head came up the moment the Templars around the warehouse started to move. He himself moved, slipping through the shadows as though he was one himself. He crouched behind what appeared to be a wall and peered out ever so slowly around the corner. He could just hear what the Templars were saying. "Avez-vous entendu quelque chose?"(Did you hear something?)
"Cela ressemblait à l'alarme..."(It sounded like the alarm...)
Merde, Lucien!(Damn it, Lucien!)

Adrien shook his head just the tiniest bit. He was exasperated. He himself knew better than to get an alarm triggered. The voices of the Templars brought him back to the present. "Pensez-vous qu'un Assassin a obtenu nous passé?"(Do you think an Assassin got passed us?)
"Il est très peu probable. Il y a une raison pour laquelle le Grand Maître nous a mis à l'entrée."(It's very unlikely. There's a reason the Grandmaster put us at the entrance.) One of the men, the second who had said something about the alarm, turned to the other. They both looked....scared and it made Adrien frown deeply.

"Si un assassin ne pénétrer à l'intérieur...le Grand Maître aura nos têtes!"(If an Assassin did get inside...the Grandmaster will have our heads!) Adrien sighed a quiet sigh and slipped back along the shadows and scaled a building to the roof where he crouched in waiting for his understudy.
I'm going to 'ave a very long talk wis zat imbécile.
