Donahue Shay, the Dark Knight
Donahue is an old Irish name which means Dark warrior, and that is exactly what he is. He is sadistic, ruthless, bloodthirsty, and will use any means to achieve an end. However, he also has a bright side to him. He is kind, caring, loyal, funny, and he cares deeply for his friends.
* Due to his work as a blacksmith, Donahue has an extensive knowledge of weapons. He knows exactly where their weakpoints are.
* Donahue is a very strong man, and he will use his exceptional strength when required to do so.
* He is impeccably smart.
* A tactical genius.
* Donahue is mildly impatient. He will rush into things, and he hates waiting around.
* Since he has only just ventured to the holy land, he is still unable to speak the native tongue.
Donahue was born in Ireland on a stormy winter night to the village blacksmith, a retired knight. From a young age, he was taught to have respect for authority, his elders, and women. When he was old enough, he was taught how to fight with all manner of weapons. He was taught his father's trade, and soon surpassed his father in skill. He would spend hours at a time working on his own armour and weapons. Donahue was no stranger to brawls or full-on armed fights.
When Donahue was sixteen, he watched in horror as his father was murdered by a man in strange hooded robes. He grabbed an old bow, took aim, and sent the arrow flying into the man's eye, killing him instantly. He savagely kicked the man's corpse around while his mother and younger sister watched on. When he had had enough, he looted the man of his weapons before disposing of the corpse. He took his father's templar ring, and the ring bearing the Shay family arms. He would wear these rings for the rest of his life.
At the age of eighteen, Donahue, with his trusted armour and weapons, set off to England in search of work. Word had spread of the dark knight, and as soon as he reached England, he was sought out by the Templars. He was initiated two months later, and sent off to the holy land where he earned the rank of noble knight. Yet everyone knew him by another name, something more sinister, he had come to be feared by Templar and Assassin alike... the Dark Knight.
