Jonathan had almost been too afraid to move, but once he saw and heard David speak his own name, the young man stood up and stepped to the side to stand with David, his hood covering his eyes. "And I am Johnathan Donnelly," he stated simply, sounding quite similar to the old Pirate Assassin. He lifted his head slightly and glimmer of deep emerald colored eyes shone out of the darkness of his hood. He definitely had the trademarks of a Donnelly and the way he carried himself was the position of a Donnelly. John then pointed out Lucifer. "And you, Lucifer, killed my family. Didn't you?" John had to force a breath to go through his nose and his hands clenched into fists. He'd been tracking Shay for a while and had finally found him and a friend it would seem. John hadn't seen too many Assassins lately, probably because they'd all been killed.

"Now why would I kill my own family" Lucifer growled as he turned to face the two Assassins. He did not like being falsely accused. "I drove my own mother to an early grave, but I did not kill her, nor anyone else in my family."

---

Back at the den, a young Assassin crawled out from beneath a pile of corpses. This man was Christopher Donnelly. He was covered with the blood of his fellow Assassins, and absolutely traumatised. He decided to go to a pub to try and calm his nerves.

The young Assassin breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing two familiar figures at the pub. He held his wound, and staggered to the pub. He froze upon hearing Lucifer's voice, and quietly crept up behind Jonathan.
"Be careful, brother. Lucifer just killed every Assassin at my den" Christopher explained calmly as he held the wound in his side.

Upon hearing a familiar voice, Jonathan spun. The sight of his youngest brother filled his heart with pain and joy. "Chris," he whispered, hands going to the young man's shoulders. John's eyes took in the youth for a moment before he closed his eyes. "I thought you were dead." Then he turned back to Lucifer, eyes burning. "I was six years old when mother died. A Templar had attacked our home." John said 'our' to include his little brother, born about a year before the attack. "Since Donovan's death, I've been tracking down every Templar that had a role to play in the death of my family. My last lead led me to you."

It looked like a fight was in store for them, although David wished different. He said quietly "Lucifer, there was once a time when all three of our bloods fought side by side. Donnelly, Shay and Shuter. We were closer than most assassins ever were to each other. I once vowed to look after The decendants of Kenway, Shay and Donnelly. Haythem as already made me break this vow, do not make me break it again."

"If he won't," said John, his voice trembling. "Then I will." John knew of the connection of blood between the Shays and Donnellys because of Elizabeth Shay and Samuel Donnelly, as would all the Shays and Donnellys born. However, one thing would always set apart the Shays and Donnellys for as long as the lines survived. John had taken to calling it the Donnelly Curse, as it had happened too many times throughout their line.

"How could I have played a role in the death of uncle Edward, I was in prison at the time. As for the death of your mother, I was only a year old at the time." Lucifer rose to his full, titanic size of 6'10", and glared at his cousins. Christopher noticed an Assassin in the corner of the room who, upon first inspection, seemed to be sleeping, but the small trace of red confirmed that he was dead.
"Let's be careful, John. He's just killed another brother of the Creed." He still didn't know how he had survived the attack, let alone how he was still standing.

Jonathan narrowed his eyes. "Then what about a Master Assassin named Flint?" He questioned. Flint had been his Mentor, teacher and surrogate father when his had died. "He died at the hands of a Templar. And then there's Donovan, our Eldest brother..." John wondered if Chris knew of Donovan's betrayal and glanced at his younger brother for a moment before he turned back to Lucifer. "Did you have a role to play in his betrayal to the Assassins?"

"Well I never knew an Assassin by the name of Flint, but I did sail under an insufferable pillock of the same name." Lucifer took a sip of his rum, and growled quietly before he let out a sinister laugh. "I remember old Donni. Probably the smartest of you lot. He taught me about the Templars, showed me the way, and enlightened me." Christopher placed a heavy hand on his brother's shoulder, and looked at him with pain and concern in his eyes.
"They call him the vampire for a reason, John. I've seen it with my own eyes. We may have called him 'cousin', once. Now he is a monster."

Remaining silent for most of the time, Devin finally looked over to David, and somewhat yelled at the Assassin, "Oh, but of course you forget about the Butchers! Cast aside, forgotten despite great accomplishes made by men with the name! Hells, how could you even say a Shuter family was united with the others, despite being away from them for nearly three years!".

Johnathan shook his head slowly. "He and his kind will no longer be called cousin," he stated, a pain racking his chest at the mention of their older brother, the one that betrayed them. "Lucifer, you monster. The Shays may have ties to the Donnelly, but my family will never consider you family. I swear to God that you will die for what you've done!" John's voice rose to a roar as he struggled to find himself. He had been known as the Cobra for a couple of reasons. One was that he had a rather short temper and it was showing through right now.

David sighed "The Butchers were not forgotten, just not a part of this deal. I promised Elizabeth and Sam that I would never harm their descendants, and once promised Haythem himself that I would protect him when his father was killed." Nor had they ever been as close to David as Sam and Elizabeth had been. A mistake, David knew. One of many he had made over the years.

he he next placed an arm out to restrict Johnathan saying "caution my brother" He then turned to the Templars and said "Your ancestors were Assassins. The fact that we are right now all enemies with each other is reason enough to weep, when not 100 years ago our bloods used to drink and be merry together. Is there no way we can go back to that. I vowed that you shall never feel the sting of my blade, yet that promise also included a few more words. They were that you shall never feel the sting of my blade, unless my vows to the brotherhood get in the way of this vow. Right now they are.. so choose wisely." He said this saddly, for he did not want to shed the blood of Donnelly, Shay or Butcher.

he was somewhat wounded by what The Butcher was saying... a Shuter family... yeah right. He was alone. There would never be a Shuter family. He had Alyssa.. but no one else. The reason he had left 3 years was to find a piece of eden like his so Alyssa did not have to leave him like all others.. and Sam and Elizabeth had known that.

John looked over at David and gave a small nod. He knew that the Ghost was the Grand Master of the Assassins, as all other seemed to have fallen into line behind him. John would too, as David was about the only thing he had left that was close to a father. David had taken care of both John and his younger brother, Chris when their parents were slain and Donovan deserted. John trusted the Master Assassin and stayed right where he was, tears building behind his eyes as he stared at Lucifer.

David next addedquietly "Many Templars have fallen before me. I know of my name amongst you. Blue Lightning. I am as unpredictable as Lightning, and never strike the same place twice. That is true with myself. I never need to, for I have yet to have to attack the same person twice.. unless I allow it. You all do not want to meet this fate"

John stayed where he was, watching. His wrist had flexed and the hidden blade free. He would fight if it came down to that. Hopefully it didn't. John's eyes flicked behind them for a moment, antsy. He was unsure if they would be jumped from behind. If they were, they'd have to flee and get to a safe place, although there weren't anymore safe places around, at least not for miles.

"Well I'm sorry, ladies, but I must be going now" Lucifer said with a sigh as he rose to his feet. Lucifer took up a stance, and bolted straight towards the door. He crashed into Christopher, and sent him reeling to the floor before he raced off into the night.

"Chris!" John shouted after he'd regained his balance from rolling out of Lucifer's way. The Donnelly rose to his feet and crossed over to his younger brother, a hand on Christopher's shoulder. "You're not hurt, are you?"

David let out a low chuckle "Coward" He said. Templars were all the same. They were cowards, only fighting when they had the advantage, or when they had no choice. That..at least.. had never changed over the centuries. He would not make chase.. not yet anyways. He then knealt by the Donelley's "We need to get back to Connor and report this. The Templars are getting bolder, and that boads ill for all of us." If only he could cut off the snakes head.. Haythem Kenway.. then this might finally be over.

John gave a nod in David's direction and glanced up at the doors, which were still swinging wide in the Templar's wake. "Right," he said softly. Then he frowned and glanced back up at the Grand Master of the Assassins, a hard look in his eyes. "David...I know the Shays and Donnellys are connected by blood. But I no longer want to be tied to their line, not anymore." he turned his head away and aided his younger brother up from the floor. "By all means, keep your vow, but no longer think of the Shays and Donnellys as of the same blood. We're just too different to be kin anymore."

Of course, John knew all Shays had ties to the Templars, having been educated by his father of the connection before he was killed and the oldest deserted. That tie to the Templars also created a rift between the two blood-lines. At least in John's mind, anyway.

"I'm okay, John. But I really think we should head to a doctor." Christopher looked up at David, and hung his head. "There's been enough death for today. If we go to Connor... it's just too dangerous now. We can all go to my house until it's safe."

"Or to a place that's so far out of the way," mused John quietly. "That the Templars wouldn't even bother to look." He'd been hidden within a shack far out of the way of either Assassin or Templar and it had been his place of refuge for several years when he'd been hunting down Donovan. "We could chill there until things settle down."

David flashed the younger assassin a small smirk "Connor is the deadliest son of a B*tch I have seen in a long time, plausibly deadlier than his grandfather. Ezio and Altair are the only people I could think of that are possibly more deadlier.. and they had apples of Eden to aid them." he however gave a pained expression at what John said and replied "I swore and oath, one I do not wish to break, however I will not stay my blade next time." Truth be told he was scared. For the first time in many centuries, he was facing an enemy he had never faced before, one that was more powerful than any man, and he was not sure its weakness.

"He could be the king of England for all I care! We are not putting him at risk! We need to learn more about Lucifer before we go anywhere near Connor. We had him locked up in chains, but he broke free, killed everyone at my bureau, and drank their blood." Christopher trembled slightly as he recalled the day's previous events. "Can we please get to a doctor now?"

John calmly began to shush his brother, an arm wrapped around the boy's shoulders before he glanced at David. "It's best to get our wounds tended to," he said softly, his hand rubbing his brother's back for a moment. "Then I'll take us to my Hideaway."

David set his jaw for a second before he said "I shall escort you to this hideout, then I ride for Connor. He is the Mentor of the Assassins, our leader. He needs to know of this. I know I would want to know, and my role is more of a backseat one." While he may be the grand mentor of the Assassins, he did not see it as a position of power. He only used it when it was needed, if a Mentor was not up to scratch, or to order other assassins where needed, or.. and this being the most important, to do his own thing without having to report to any bureau mentor of his every deed.

John gave a nod at David's decree. "And let him know," he said, glancing sidelong at his little brother. "That we still live out of the bureau Assassins killed here."
