Nick Morgan Empty
PostSubject: Nick Morgan   Nick Morgan EmptySat Feb 15, 2014 1:26 pm

Name: Nicholas Morgan

Age: 17-20 (Pirate) 21-54 (Assassin) 54-death (Retirement)

Affiliation: Assassin (former Pirate)

Appearance: His height (depending on when the roleplay takes place) is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch. He has blue eyes, high cheekbones, a black mullet which has one streak of hair that goes down to his left eyebrow and a 5 o'clock shadow. His Assassin robes were crafted by Nick and would years later be worn by Ratohnhaketon AKA Connor Kenway. However he wears black boots instead of the rags and the original version that Nick makes uses the Jamestown outfit colouring from AC3 which were white and red instead of the normal default colouring which was cream coloured and blue to show his British heritage. (if you don't get it, the redcoats wear red to show they're British. So Nick did something similar) He also has a very strong and posh British accent.

Personality: Usually quite serious and mature, but can be a fun person to be around when he feels it's a good place to be and he's around those he trusts.

Favorite Weapons: His duel hidden blades (eventually invents the hidden blade that turns into a knife, AKA the pivot blade at the age of 25 and changes his normal duel hidden blades to pivot blades on both wrists), his two machetes which are strapped to his back ninja style (saying that for appearance purposes), his rope darts, his throwing knives and his four flintlock pistols.

Strengths: He is very fast and very smart in combat. His speed is because of the small weapons he uses, like his machetes. He is also quite logical being able to make plans so insane but so good they usually always work.

Weaknesses: When taunted about his childhood he will explode into a rage and will not focus on tactics, allowing it to be easier for people to defeat him in combat. He is also very opinionated and at points can be very stubborn. Which can make him not very likeable to some people. He also finds it difficult to defeat more strong guys as he is a more speed based person in combat. He is able to defeat them, but very rarely is it quick or without help.

Background/Biography: Nick was born on June 12th 1700, in London as an only child. At first, life seemed pretty good. His family were quite rich and owned quite a larger number of ships which would deliver cargo day in and day out. This unfortunately, only lasted for a few years. Because from 1703, the ships started getting robbed by pirates and the amount of money Nick's family had started to drop quite a bit before eventually his family went bankrupt a couple of months before Nick's birthday, in 1705. But then though unfortunately, the family got evicted shortly afterwards and were kicked out of their house on Nick's 5th birthday.

As a result, him and his family were left on the streets were left to fend for themselves. Barely surviving on the scraps of food that Nick found on the streets and going as far as to drink his own (and other people's) urine just so he didn't die of dehydration. Because Nick and his family could barely feed themselves, his entire family except him were dead by the time was Nick was 14. Some examples were that his Uncle had died of dehydration, his mother had died of hunger, his Dad was beaten to death by guards and his Aunt was shot in the head by guards. According to rumors though, it seems that Nick could be lying about his Mom. Supposedly it was the worst death and most screwed up out of all of them and he even witnessed it, his Mom is also a touchy subject in general for him. Soon after their death's, he started getting desperate so...even though because he hated pirates due to the fact that pirates are why his family went bankrupt, he decided out of desperation he was going to travel to Nassu or die trying because of the fact that he wanted money, food, water and shelter and he was desperate enough to break his promise about not being a pirate, ever, in order to do that.

He began travelling to Nassu on his 15th birthday and travelled there by sneaking onto several ships. However he did not make it to Nassu as he had originally intended....one day, on one of the ships he had sneaked onto. Pirates boarded the ship. The captain was Edward Thatch, AKA...Blackbeard. Blackbeard himself threatened Nick that it was either he joined Thatch's crew or he dies. Seeing no other choice, he did and eventually became the Quarter master of the Queen Anne's Revenge on his 17th birthday.

When Blackbeard retired, Nick was offered a ship...however the first thing that Nick did was ask Blackbeard if he had plundered any of his family's ships. Thatch asked why and Nick said out of curiousity. Blackbeard said he believed he plundered every.single.ship.Nick.mentioned. Then, Nick went into a pure rage and started slaughtering almost everyone on the ship and almost killed Blackbeard before the harsh winds and storm that had happened shortly before caused him to go overboard.

Then, Nick ended up washed up on a beach he had not recognized. He barely was able to stand up, however, as he had tried to take down several crew members on the Queen Anne's Revenge. He had suffered several bullet wounds, stab wounds and slash wounds as a result and was losing blood fast. He began slowly walking off the beach until he saw men wearing white hoods.....and passed out.

He woke up, 2 weeks later and wondering where on Earth he was, he started walking towards who he would later learn to be Ah Tabai. Ah Tabai explained that Nick was on an island called Tulum and explained what the Assassins and Templars were. Nick asked Tabai if he could join the Assassins as he felt that it was almost his destiny all along to be an Assassin as cheesy as he knew that sounded. But he still believed it was what he wanted to do, what he wanted his purpose in life to be. To kill those who deserve to die.

Nick started his training on his 18th birthday and completed it exactly 3 years later on his 21st birthday. By then, he had crafted what would years later be the robes that Ratohnhaketon would wear. The only difference is that the colouring on Nick's version was the Jamestown dye (in AC3) with black boots instead of rags. As a reward, Ah Tabai rewarded him with a Frigate. Which Nick named after his mothers last name before marrying his Dad, he called it the Raven and used it until his retirement, when he sold it. He had filled out many assassination missions including assassinating George I the King of England in 1727. He remained as an Assassin until his retirement in 1554, but always remained an associate of them until his death...however...his death date and his place of burial remains unknown. He went down in history as one of the most skilled assassins to ever live and having the world record of most assassinations before he retired from the Assassin order before being broken a total of 15 years later. Whether or not Nick was still alive at that point as he retired at the age of 54, also remains unknown.

However, there was one person who did find the burial place of Nick Morgan. That person was Achilles Davenport. Achilles had found it in 1558, when he was on a mission in New York. When he was one mile from New York, he noticed a rock on the ground that looked abnormally large and strange to him. When he turned it over, he had found a small hatch, with the assassin insignia on it and needing a key to open. Achilles eventually realized it was a hidden blade that needed to be used. After opening it, he saw a hole and saw there was water at the bottom because of a torch placed. After thinking for a while, he decided to jump down as if it was from an assassin, there must of been something in there, so he jumped down the hole and landed in the water. After jumping up onto a wooden path. He then started going deeper into the cave and after some of the most complicated climbing and free running he had ever done, Achilles found a wooden door.

He opened it and what was inside, was a room about the width and length of a brig. Inside the room was a ceremonial Assassin coffin and a chest was next to it. Achilles had heard rumors about this place he was in from fellow assassins....which according to them originated from when someone found a letter written by Nick detailing it's location, supposedly. He knew that this was the tomb which was the burial place....of Nicholas Morgan. When he looked in the chest, he found all of Nick's equipment aside from his machetes (which were lost on Nick's last mission before retiring) and Nick's robes. He also found a letter at the bottom of the chest but didn't get a chance to read it then and there because Achilles realized the chest's lid was attached to a wire and then, two bombs exploded and the cave began falling apart. However just when Achilles was losing hope, a small hatch at the top of the ceiling opened and a rope ladder unrolled down. Achilles quickly climbed up before the cave collapsed, destroying it and making it nearly impossible to get to ever again.

After returning home, he read the letter which contents were..."To whoever is reading this letter, if you got what was in that chest then you know who's equipment and robes they are. I trust these to you, as you are a person who was skilled enough to get to it. I hope you keep these in good hands and use them well.

Sincerely

Nick Morgan."

He then dyed the colouring to a more cream and blue colour scheme and wore the robes until eventually retiring. The robes would eventually become famous as being the same robes that Connor Kenway would wear. However the location of this cave, still remains quite unknown as the location of Nick's burial ground, died with Achilles in 1781.

So I've read this through, and most of it looks good. I do have to ask though... Why does he have to have Connor's robes? There's no mention of the connection, or why Connor would have them.

The character seems a little bit OP to me, TBH. I'm being INCREDIBLY lenient on this, so it's not mandatory, but it's an opinion. If you wanna balance him out, feel free, but it's just a personal preference.

Otherwise... Only real issue is the "His Assassin robes were crafted by Nick and would years later be worn by Ratohnhaketon AKA Connor Kenway" as there's no indication of how Achilles (If that's the mentor's name, it's been awhile since I've played) might have gotten them and given them to Connor, nor is there any reason for that connection. Easy fix here, either you can edit it, or provide a proper explanation that makes it make sense. Once that's done, I'll approve it, no problem Smile

Very true, but I felt as there was no explanation to where Achilles got the robes, I decided to answer it like that. I do agree after reading through it that he is a bit too OP. So I'll try to balance it out and I think I know how I will answer how Achilles got the robes in another post.

It's done, the last four paragraphs detail how Achilles got the robes and I changed the strengths and weaknesses to balance it out.

I've read this application (after you've edited it) and I think your addition  to it has made it nice and thorough. Approved! But I think there is one typo in the 8th paragraph, it says, "... Achilles had found it in 1558, when he was on a mission in New York..." I think the date is off, but that's okay, I get what you mean. But yeah, approved. Just make sure Nick is balanced, like Josh was saying.

Thank you very much! Very Happy Although in terms of the typo, Nick died from the time range of 1755-1757 and Achilles had stopped being an assassin in 1763. So I can't see how it's a typo, to be honest.
